@@ProShop1 Never underestimate a good 253. I had a worked one in a L32 SLR back in the 90's. They love a bit of compression, remember they are basically a 308 with smaller pistons and fairly low compression, get that compression up, stick on a decent exhaust and carb , tickle the ports and a small bump stick and they really get up and go. I got into a few arguments with my SLR and had to lift the bonnet a few times to prove it was a 253. I'm going to put a stroked 253 in my 65 HD ute, stroked out to 5 litres...!!!
Watching your video brings back many memories. Back in the day, I had an EH Premier hydramatic and I new a man that had an EH that was raced as a hill climber. Triple SU carbs. What a beast it was.
She’s a bit of a squealer 😂 If the missus is cracking those jokes you know you’re in the right place 😂 Love the wood grain crash pad too. Don’t believe I’ve seen that in a EH/J before 👌
That Ute is a cracking unit, you did am amazing job getting it to run and look the business, I would love an old Holden ute with qtr glass windows. Cheers
Done a awesome job on this ute mate you sure you don’t want to do another v8 eh ute next year or beyond happy to wait, Can’t wait to see the other one finished
@@ProShop1 I understand your pain mate I got the same problem If you do happen to get helpers mate I would be happy to wait I got the Ute and she’s a pearler, on full rego ,and I’m also local mate in Penrith Cheers
I had mint 77 HX holden premier with a gem 💎 engine 253 v8 auto I reckon they sound better than the 308 and rev harder I destroyed that car in a cop chase back when I turned 23 years old in Evans head nsw near Ballina I learned life the hard way back in those days drug’s women sex and rock n roll and police spike strips on the road soon stop the old holden
Nice work.i had a EH ute 179 .3 speed paid 450 bucks for it.back 30 years ago.it was a old farm Utrecht lots rust no tailgate and under the seat when first got it had spent 20.2 shells.😊
So happy to see that it’s NOT another ridiculous LS conversion!
Very nice.
That' very appropriate you chose a 253 as Holden started development of the V8's in 1964.
Sweet little 253 v8 in a cool old EH Ute sweet ride
I'm still shocked how good it sounds. I always thought they were a thong slapper

😂Cheers Pat. The owner had the idea of the wood interior. I wasn't quite sure of it until it was in. It suits it perfectly.
Love it, what a cool test drive and you know you have a sweet ride when it turns heads. Great job.👍
Looks awesome and sounds awesome.

Cheers Steve. This had .22 shells under the seat when I got it too. Think it was a paddock basher before I got it.
