I don’t know about that, I like her, however I would be concern if my child read too much fiction too. Is too much general vocabulary, particular American English writing style, and etc. However technical terminology, concepts, equations, computation, and etc. perhaps is more useful. Plus as for teaching, maybe most teachers are so biased when it comes to spelling. Sometimes I wished I knew about the pronunciation key, origin of words, and etc much earlier to have some foundations of how the words and/or grammar were created originally or borrowed. Plus we have charts, diagrams, figueres, and virtual reality. Also, I don’t know however perhaps there should be more self-service learning. I hate going to school and interacting with teachers when I was a kid but I like learning in general. Sometimes I wonder if this person spend so much time reading fiction how was he able to retain almost everything he read and learn from textbooks. Many times when I have to read technical information I have to read it several times and write notes then revised and maybe feel an epiphany of an overall understanding of something that I didn’t understand much later. Is also the author's style some write and use figueres and modern ways of communicating while other write in latin to old English. Anyway, I’m happy for this family.

One kid with zero interest in academics, and bullied everyone and was always in trouble is now doing research research in fluid dynamics at Berkley.

This is me when I was at his age, I took books everywhere I went, during eating, toilet, commuting in public transports, even in the days of public holidays when everyone was enjoying I was reading books.

You can use ebook or audiobooks if you can’t get time to read a physical book you can even socialize and read at the same time, useing an e reader of choice and audiobooks no one needs to know if you whant if your young your guardians are best informed your safety.

Unlike most of my classmates, everything seems easy for me so I was bored easily. Although everything seems fine, I was bullied since kinder. That left a great impact in me and started hating and not caring for school. My parents were also busy and couldn't put me somewhere my potential could grow. It's just sad that I lost my passion and interest with studying. It's also hard that you know that you have great capabilities, but you yourself is stopping it from shining because of trauma. I just wanna share

Here's the thing: you need to have a life to be accepted in Harvard. Good grades don't mean much, if you have pretty good grades then you're good. The most important thing though is having a life, clubs, extracurriculars etc.
I too, have a reading obsession in such a level that my parents had had to take books away from me countless times. I need a book with me everywhere, all the time. But this is only relevant for books I love, namely, storybooks. It doesn't apply to the entirety of my studies lmao🤣
