I absolutely cannot believe this! 😲
My Mom had this EXACT powder blue Lincoln for years when I was younger, and even much later, and it was kept in perfect condition the whole time we had it.
Mom was so proud of it, because she had never had anything so fancy in her life, and my Stepdad could afford it, and got it for her new, right after they married.
We had been dirt poor before my Daddy passed away, and then Mom married my Stepdad, who she had known for years.
We ended up having nice things we had never dreamed of before, including that gorgeous Lincoln.
Even the last few years they had it, people would offer a lot of money for it, because of it's pristine condition, but my Mom and Stepdad always refused.
But finally, in about 2003, the electrical system went, and then the engine literally caught on fire one day, and my Mom and Stepdad sold it for scrap metal and parts.
Mom cried when they got rid of it, because by that time, both my Mom's and Stepdad's health was very bad, and with the mounting hospital bills, they could no longer afford those nice things, so they had to get an old clunker car to drive.
Now, both my Stepdad and my Mom are gone, but I still have pictures of that beautiful Lincoln they both loved so much.
This car looks exactly like it, and is giving me so many memories of better days. 😍

Yes, they are walking the streets of gold, and don't need any kind of cars, or anything else now, and I know that.
I'm older myself, and I spend a lot of time living in memories, (a flaw of older folks who have very few loved ones left) until I get to see them again.
Its sad that that they died in that car fire.
What an awesome story and I really appreciate you sharing it. I'm sure that both of them now are cruising around in that same Lincoln and your Mom is likely the driver :)

In 1979, while a junior at Ohio State, I ordered the Wedgewood Blue edition from ford except it was white with blue landau top and leather with moonroof from American Sunroof. It had a cassette deck instead of 8 track, a built in CB and phone. I wish I had that car today. I loved every single foot of my mark v.
