This show has the most beautiful orchestrations ever. You could take out all of their speaking, all of the visuals, and just go on a voyage of the swells in that music. To me, that's just outstanding.
Lauren Ambrose...talented, smart, excellent. Did not know she could sing. How refreshing. Break a leg to the cast and crew. Will be in NYC in late Oct. Hope Lauren is still in it.
Well, Richard even the late Audrey Hepburn (may she rest) didn't sing in My Fair Lady, it was somebody else. I forgot who my brother n law said. But it was not Audrey. She sang Moon River in Breakfast At Tiffany's but didn't sing in MY FAIR LADY. I digress.
Did you see the show? I saw him perform as Freddy and he cleaned up nicely. He also has a remarkable baritone "belt" which suit the high notes well. No falsetto/head voice restraint. Hit hits the notes with elegance and poise but didn't seem to strain. He sang beautifully and sounded effortless.
I always saw my fair lady about a girl would love a chance to be in love and love a better life and a man who takes her as a pet project and tries to refine her into what he thinks a 'perfect' lady is but in the process being charmed and wooed by all her 'flaws' and quirks that he ends up loving in the end.

I’m sooooo excited!
It was very good
Thank you Michelle from telecharge you are lovely!
oh...i thought I was waiting to see Julie in it, like I was transported back to 1957. Weird feeling right there.
It literally says in the show that Eliza is around 20... this woman looks 40
The basis of the theater is the suspension of disbelief. Literally.
She is forty. I was marvelling at how shockingly young she looks.
Her age is of concern but her voice concerns me more.
Oh, aren't we JUST the casting police. In fact Mrs. Patrick Campbell, for whom Shaw wrote the role, was 49 at Pygmalion's West End Premiere.

Freddy totally miscast. Ridiculous.

You’re so wrong.
