I´m always deeply moved when listening to Jimmy Lyons; for me he was one of the very greatest, and the way Cecil talks about him makes this definitely clear. And can you imagine a cooler guy than Cecil? I can´t.

The FMP website has an article by Reiner Kobe ('Cecil Taylor: Workshop Freie Musik ‘86') archived that appears to review this performance. The lineup is stated as "trumpets: Guido Mazzon, Lars Rudolph, trombones: Hannes Bauer, Earl McIntyre; reeds: Peter Brötzmann, Floros Floridis, Wolfgang Fuchs, Frank Wright; bass: William Parker; marimba: Thurman Barker; drums: Steve McCall".
