This is from the November 17, 1971 episode of the pre-Soul Train, pre-PBS New York based TV show "Soul!", which featured The Persuasions, singer Bobby Hebb, bassist Ron Carter, and six-man percussion ensemble M’Boom (led by Max Roach). The show was hosted by Ellis Haizlip, who is currently the subject of a documentary by his daughter Melissa, which focuses, on large part on the show.
