Norman Osborne was the original Green Goblins. He died and his son, Harry Osborne took up the Green Goblin. Harry, an alcoholic and drug addict meshed better with the super soldier formula than did his father, but the drugs and alcohol amplified the psychosis side-effects of the drugs, and ended up putting too much strain on his heart after a climactic battle with spider man, and after saving MJ in a fire. In the original comic, there was no "snap" when Spider-man caught her. They added that in later re-prints because people were confused on why she died.
I believe one big reason Ditko left Marvel was that he didn't agree with Stan Lee having the Goblin revealed to be Norman Osborn, he wanted him to be revealed as just someone who had never been seen before. Plus he also disagreed with Stan about other things besides the Goblin's identity, for instance I believe in an earlier issue when Spidey encountered a bunch of hippies protesting something, Ditko wanted Spidey to tear into them and beat them up, Stan didn't want the story to go that way.
I just notice something. Goblin doesn’t want to rule the world or robbed a bank, or other villain things. He just wants to kill Spider-Man. Since the first time he showed up, he’s done nothing but try to kill the web slinger, and that was Peter’s first year as a superhero after the avengers showed up. He could’ve killed them for being old and well known, but why Spider-Man of all heroes. Usually when villains want to kill Spider-Man it’s normally for stopping a robbery or an thwarting an evil plan.

trailer officially came out bruh
Amnesia, amnesia, amnesia. Can't believe it hasn't become a "Never live it down" running gag, like Pym slapping Janet (Wasp), Iron Man being an alcoholic or Jean Grey/Phoenix's constant deaths.
What a story. And that's not even mentioning his return, the time when he had "magic powers", his time as Director of the Thunderbolts, how he looked like the big hero to the whole world at the end of Secret Invasion, then his time as Director of HAMMER as Iron Patriot... Whew.
Thanks for the video.
I love Spiderman he was my first favorite super hero!
3:03 so thats why he died that way in the tobey maguire film. the creators decided to take that death scene from the comic book and put it in the movie. why didn’t i see that before?
Not even a mention about The Spectacular Spider-Man series? Oh. Alright
He was acting too much like the Joker to be the Green Goblin. He was just the Joker wearing a Green Goblin costume.
WOW! cant believe how much of the parts they got right in the movie from the comics, including the end, well not all parts like reveling he is the Goblin, but u know what i mean
He lost his memory 3 times
The rivalry of Spider-Man and Green Goblin will never end.
Joker is overrated
venom not even a real villain but a anti villain
green goblin is the true viliain along with doc ock
Fuck you! Venom is Spider-Man's TRUE archenemy! I don't give a fuck about those "Venom is an Anti-Hero now" bullshit! He is Spider-Man's archenemy because he is the greatest Spider-Man villain ever!!!
venom is literally an anti hero he saves innocents lol
@@TheParanormalist0601 did you read his comics
@@TheParanormalist0601 idiot. Venom is like Spiderman's frenemy
@@TheParanormalist0601 Venom is one of the best Spidey's villains, but it's far from being his archenemy shithead
I'll tell you when I have repaired my time machine.
Wait, a villain kills the important person of a hero and tries to throw at him his last but not least option and it backfires on him?!! *Doesn't that sound familiar...* 😏
"Hello, my dear..."
The plot in these series would be a lot better than the one in all the movies which lead to Gwen Stacy's demise and Green Goblin's representation. However, producers, directors and writers always have to make a separate version every time.
good stuff, keep it up!
Now if only they would do Iron Patriot(the original Dark Reign version, not that crappy Iron Man 3 one)...
His voice when you hear it first in the video sounds like when I try to do Vegeta's voice from Dragon Ball Z Abridged
can't wait to see him again in No Way Home!!!
False, at the time Osborn unmasked, Harry and Peter weren't even close, they only saw each other once in a while at college. They never had a father son relationship, Peter was always worried Osborn would give away Spiderman secret identity, idk where you got that from
I liked the story from The Amazing Spider-man cartoon in the 90's better.
The Green Goblin is Spider-Man's first ever enemy and had similar issues than the Joker, Batman's first ever enemy
Goblin was not Spider-Mans first ever enemy he came out in like issue 14
@@Saint0999 Who is Spider-Man's first ever enemy?
@@JJ-oq3tz in his own comic it’s chameleon
@@Saint0999 Oh right. But why the Chameleon does not appear in any Spider-Man movies
@@JJ-oq3tz no idea they might have plans tho
I dont like the fact that in the amazing spiderman 2 harry started off as the green goblin. It is not original why does marvel movies switch shit up? These kids in this generation should be followed up on what happened in the comics. Smh. It was a great movie just the fact that norman is suppose to be the green goblin.
Don't worry I'm a kid and know the original story, He's my favorite fictional character ever. I know all the different versions. =)
Ken Hancock I know right.
Man, I immeditately thought of something like Barbershop: 50% discount for villains.
1:08-*sighs*”scientist runs out of time or money and tests his secret project on himself cliche”. *dings*
0:35 My dad has that cover as a t-shirt! :)
just like the joker is batman's greatest enemy's, the green goblin WIll always be spiderman's greatest enemy, and there is only oe true goblin..........THE GREEN GOBLIN AAAAAHHHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bane is bro read the original comics
Jordan Torres No, you obviously don't read Bat-Man.
Venom is Spider-Man's TRUE archenemy though.
@@TheParanormalist0601 he is spiderman's rival, at best. Green goblin did more harm to spidey than any of his villains combined
@@TheParanormalist0601 Venom hasn't caused harm to Spidey as the Goblin. Although Venom is an antihero, The Goblin is a villain. And Is more insane than Venom
0:10 I remember 11 years ago when I watched Spider-Man I screamed like a little girl at that xD
perfect explanation.
"Psychodelic bombs..." it must have been the 60s
I think it is Osborn himself that is the favorite while his fall into Goblin is seen as a bonus.
I loved Green Goblin in the Spidermanmovies and he is truly one of the Webslingers deadliest foes !
My favourite Spider-man villain. I didn´t know that Gwen death in Amazing Spider-man 2 was connected with comic.
obviously thats where they get each film inspiration from without the comics their would be no films
3:08
The OG❗️👏🏼
In the original comic, there was no "snap" when Spider-man caught her. They added that in later re-prints because people were confused on why she died.
Norman Osborn is the hero we deserve. Iron Patriot, leader of the Avengers, I salute you Norman.
I forgot that I still have PTSD from that movie's Goblin scream.
Im suprised Kingpin isn't on here yet. You should do him next!
