Something that Asmon said " UA-cam probably doesnt want streaming to pop off" isnt because of having huge wage bills on the streaming hosts its mainly because streaming is just way less profitable. Why would they want someone to sit in a stream for 4 hours and watching 0 adds while they could be watching videos for 4 hours hopping video to video and getting like 20-30 ads in total , YT/Google probably has enough profit to sustain big streaming numbers and the tech to make it more efficient for them but as a business they want streaming just so more people will engage with peoples vids.
exactly, also it's just healthier for all the creators on UA-cam since instead of 10,000 people sitting in a livestream, they can be using that time to find new UA-camrs and consistently watch a variety of their favorite UA-camr's videos
@@MetatronsCube23Exactly… not sure what this person is going on about. I’m sure more people are willing to pay for YT premium, than twitch turbo since you’d get all on UA-cam’s videos and you only get streams on twitch. And most of the time, streamers upload to both

100% its because any livestreaming services will never be profitable once scaled up. Only the biggest streams will be profitable, anyone under X amount of viewers simply sucks up money like a blackhole The current big yt streamers are heavily dominated by asia/sea timezones, its simply a different market than twitch and you can see that by net traffic by the hour
i don’t get what’s so hard to understand, as someone from the uk who has always watched a lot of youtube, live streams on twitch are so awkward to know when to show up because time zones etc but when there’s a livestream on youtube i’m notified and i can see it on the home page when i’m already on the app
She's set for life that's what matters. Average gross income over an entire lifetime before retirement in the US is around 3 million meanwhile she's made 10-20x that and she's not even 30 yet. Her name has recognition value too unlike 99.999% of people so even if she blew threw her millions she could come back for more. She could earn $0 going forward the rest of her life and still live in extreme luxury. What people don't realize is many of the very top streamers are richer than many pro athletes actors in Hollywood and bank managers ect. Donating to them is like donating to a NFL player after you were entertained by their performance in a game.
Do it, start simultaneous casting il watch. I can't do it, I walked away from Twitch as a platform for exactly the reasons you mentioned. More platform competition is always a good thing, make the platforms compete for your exclusivity that should come with a price tag that's fair.
3:10 mark- As a random retired disabled Vet; I will say that other than Asmongold's channel; I really extremely struggled to find any new creator channels because the amount of Twitch ads is extremely outrageous in an era where my YT premium provides me so much more "value" for what I am paying for with zero ads. Soon as I click on a channel and want to see whether I find the content creator fun or worth the time to watch; a 1 minute Chipotle ad runs across the screen followed by another 1-2 minute ad totally breaking any sense of connection about the content creator. Now, I realize a lot will say "just subscribe to Twitch Turbo" but that's not the point, the point is that as a consumer if I can't make an "Informed buying decision" then I simply wont buy the product.
I find it hilarious that the video that autoplayed for me after this one was a DougDoug Vod, opening up with him saying "Man, UA-cam streaming is a disaster."

I wanna bring up something real quick. A lot of people spend a ton of time on UA-cam(guilty). This means that these people are just there. Now, do I go to twitch when I see a notification from a streamer I like? Yes. But the majority of my time is on the Tube. Lately, I have watched more streams on UA-cam than on Twitch because I was already here, and just wanted to check out the stream. Many times I stayed for the entire stream. Ok, so my point here is that my ADHD brain likes it when I don't have to go to twitch and click through streams when I can just get it reccomended through the gods of the youtube algorithm while I'm here to watch videos. Maybe I'm an oddball here, but I really don't think so. I might be wrong, but in my opinion UA-cam is just better for streaming because so many people are just there.
Get ad block. Regular Adblock doesn’t work, but “stream cleaner” works just fine. It might make the stream pause for like 5 seconds but I’m taking a 5 second pause over 3 mins of ads straight lol
I hate that Twitch limits quality options by some follower count or something. I've close da stream because the only option is 1080p60, which kills my FPS on games. On UA-cam I can just put it 720p30 or even 480 and it's all fine. I've seen some streamers only have 1440p60 too which I instantly close. Ads would be fine if I could skip them, but they're all 1-2 min long and I miss a streamers explanation or interaction. Can't even have them in the background due to ads. Also some ads are on full volume and when going back to the streamer for 2 seconds their volume is on max then goes back down.
The next big update to server computing space is already here. It's just waiting on mass usage. Servers now have access to something called a DPU which is essentially a smartnic with extra components to allow for better and more optimized usage of server CPU's. Not to mention recent advancement towards "universal memory". A concept that uses both long and short term storage on the same piece of tech, merging a ram stick and ssd. Interesting stuff but we still have to see how they pan out with time.
I don't know why I watch these videos, I don't consume twich and I don't even care about this crap but for some reason Asmon talking makes me come back again and again, I think I'm in love ❤❤❤

So I watch your takes while doing some grinding in a game and I inform myself about content via you and critical. maybe your numbers aren't as big on youtube as they are on twitch, but I'm one of the few where I watch you here. Also shoutout to the edditors bruv you guys are giants and aspiringly good. Hope you can keep it up, much love.
It’s weird to say that UA-cam live streaming sucks though. Especially when hololive vtubers average between 5-10k viewers on standard streams. And even climb to as high as 200k viewers on event streams. So whilst this is obviously because hololive is super popular and they stream exclusively on UA-cam. There are still 10’s of thousands of viewers tuning in.
it is still pretty suck on ux perspective imo because rn UA-cam isn't really focused on livestreaming content in contrast of Twitch. I watch lots of news channel on UA-cam since it is easier to search for them by using terms and all rather than a normal streamers trying to streams games or irl stuff. Aside from that, Hololive and/or other vtubers agency have huge fomo, weeby and parasocial communities so it is easier to get consistent viewers via collabs and events.
I'm a Twitch user from Turkey. The minimal hourly wage in my country is around 3 dollars. Don't hate us, we are in an economical crisis. There is nothing we can do. Around 60 percent of our monthly wage goes to rent and 30 percent goes to bills and food costs. We are left with 60-90 dollars to spend on entertainment and misc things for a whole month! :( Unfortunate yet it is the reality. Im explaining this so people can understand why twitch pays 0.09 to the streamers.
Twitch has the monopoly on streaming; it no longer has to tie streamers to contracts because there is no longer a competing platform. Kick was talked down by the same streamers who wondered why Twitch no longer made contracts. So competition itself is destroyed by the streamers
i can see where you coming from, and you are right that they played a roll in its downfall. but monopoly in general is bad, tons of corporations make it big, then expand to make it impossible for competition and then basically up charged everyone in the end. this is a corporations going full greed and everyone in the end suffering and becoming poor in the end.
Imo If Twitch were to monetize on the idea of having/being the "springboard" for people/streamers to gain a better foothold in the virtual space and purposely move elsewhere (If they want to) once they reach the end of well defined/explained increasing pay-scale based contracts. Tiers etc. You could limit contract spending for participants more efficiently in my mind.
People use some extensions / adblocking technology that hides the ad for the user while it plays, but it still plays the ad so its less-intrusive with loud random ads. These still count towards users watching with ads in the metrics. etc.
It will give opportunity to get rid of the old and bring in the new. Which honestly besides the die hard fans getting upset it will give people a breath of fresh air.
Well twich was a one thing now you got plenty also UA-cam is still giving contracts buddy keep thinking all this people just want to stream and not get pay

6:17 most likely you're wrong, that's not what YT CEO said in a podcast I was listening to recently. He said that they have future plans to invest more in live streaming if I remember correctly.
UA-cam is the default for video entertainment. So im far more likely to find/watch a stream on UA-cam rather than having to leave and go to a separate platform. Not to mention finding new streamers is easier on UA-cam because you can get a feel for the creator through their other videos. For me its a matter of laziness and simplicity. Id rather wait for a vod on UA-cam rather than deal with the other platforms. Only reason i open up twitch now is to run in the background for drops.
Oh you do. The more streamers they bring in, the more incentive youtube has to improve the streaming services. I don't care if they bring in Hasan or keemstar or whoever. Just don't watch them. Meanwhile, more big streamers equals inevitable higher quality streams. They have there purpose.
Many of us are probably now using YT as general daily content driver supplemented by Netflix, Prime Video etc. Very likely my age showing but Twitch still serves the same purpose that Justin TV did for me, I don't really use it for anything other than gaming content. So to my mind a lot of creators on there probably would suit the move. I might even watch them.
As an Australian I only really watch vod content and I will wait for the UA-cam video because it loads faster plays smoother and I can much more easily block ads ect
I think the evidence for too many ads on Twitch needs to be analyzed through customer satisfaction surveys. Numbers may only be going up, FOR NOW, but customer satisfaction will eventually hit a breaking point where most people switch in mass to UA-cam.
as someone who used to watch twitch a tun, i can safely say i have no time to join live streams anymore so i just watch videos on YT and everynow and then i see some streamer on YT go live and i turn that on for no reason at all
Despite all that, UA-cam will still be mainly the platform you go to to watch video's, not streams, whereas Twitch and Kick are built specifically for streaming. I have streamed both on youtube and twitch and imo Twitch is the better platform when it comes to the amount of time spent managing your channel. Take the thumbnails for example, but also going live on twitch is just much more streamlined than going live on UA-cam (you click "start streaming" in obs and that's pretty much it, but not with youtube). And Twitch has it's clipping tool, which is quite powerfull. Twitch also gives you much more and easier to use tools to enable viewers to interact with the streamer. And I'd say interactiveness is an important added value that live-streams bring to the viewer vs videos or vods. In short, Twitch is just more user friendly for both streamer and viewer, because again: the whole platform is built for streaming, and UA-cam isn't.
Streaming 1080p 2K and 4K content is very expensive especially when you have thousands of people requesting that at the same time so twitch doesn't want people to stream on their platform either they prefer if there were less people and smaller streams
Regarding the fact that an audience won't necessarily jump platforms just to watch someone they casually watch, it's true in a lot of cases. They really can't just be throwing money at people who might have a broad appeal, but not a deep appeal. People who many others will enjoy casually with little investment, but their hardcore base and reach isn't much greater than that of a smaller streamer's dedicated community. Someone who would absolutely carry an audience with him to another platform is Vedal/Neuro-sama. There's absolutely no one comparable, and his fanbase is starved for more content. Heck, they'll post sightings of him when he's randomly on someone else's channel after taking a month long break within a couple hours of him appearing. The meme-worthiness of Neuro is just too high for the swarm to not follow him. He wouldn't go anywhere since he's comfortable with his dynamic right now, and his ability to interact with others on Twitch relatively easily. But that could very well change if other platforms really push to make it easier for their own streamers to interact with Twitch streamers. So I do agree that they could return to an era of contracts at some in the future, but to a much more limited and selective extent. No dime a dozen streamers, and not for tens of millions of dollars. Unique streamers with a relatively large dedicated community for a relatively modest amount.
The standard reflex of corporations to become increasingly risk averse as they grow is boring and ultimately self defeating, always leads to stagnation. People are looking for a balance of comfy and cringey cause its fun and entertaining. We aren't complicated.
As they get larger, so does the risk gets bigger, which would probably be fine... If you're the only one making the decision, but not really if multiple people, usually those in it for the money the company's already making, is around imo. Another point ig maybe is what's important is oneself currently, the next inheritor isn't them or related to them necessarily
i remember a lot of streamers lying to viewers that said, i have no control of the ads and like 10 ads of 20 to 30sec were playing every 20 mins. its insane xD
People that are established can indeed do well on UA-cam. There are some differences that would push people away due to preferring how it's done on Twitch. Of course, if you only give a damn about the stream itself, I think UA-cam > Twitch. The video player seems lighter-weight and reliable. For now, you can also disable ads from playing in the middle of streams. The difference in the amount of ads is staggering between the 2 platforms lol. Twitch is almost unwatchable to me for that reason.
UA-cam will always be a better option for me. I work full time so I miss a lot of live content on Twitch, when I'm home I catch up on youtube. I'm from the UK and the time difference is a factor here

UA-cam player is much better, you can go back like 10 minutes without interruption and watch at x1.5 speed and then catch up to live. No loading screens needed.
that DOC comment aged like milk lol
ima be honest since twitch changed their policy with ads i stopped using twitch, because the ads are just horrendous, yeah i throw my prime out, but not every month anymore, because the site is just dead to me, the only reason i keep comming back to twitch is because of the prime gifts you get every month in form of ingame goodies and free games.
if asmon would stream on youtube it would be a big W, i dont even care if he leaves twitch he can stream on both, i would just be happy because i would be able to watch him live again.
I see your point and want to establish I dont try attacking it, just telling you incase you dont know since you are not actively using twitch - asmon is streaming on his zackrawrr account which is not affiliated nor partnered which means there are no ads on his channel. If you dont want to support twitch with your watch time tho, ye him switching / multi streaming on youtube would be amazing.
I'm pretty sure if you still want to watch Asmon (on his alt), you'll be fine because his alt account is not partnered and you will not get any ads.
@@GeometryDashSneakyyy yeah i always try to give my prime some small streamers to support them when i dont forget it, and as you said i just dont wanna support twitch anymore with my watchtime in general after this whole ad debacle+.
i would even go so far as to cancel my prime, but i have allot of family members who order from amazon so it still saves me allot of money because of free shipping from prime+their streaming services for movies and series on amazon itself.
@@b_uer yeah i know that zach has no ads on his alt account, i just dont wanna support twitch anymore in general with my watchtime, so i gave up on twitch in itself.
@@R3F1Cit’s the opposite of supporting them if you only stay on his ad free page, because the traffic does next to nothing to them compared to bringing you an 8 hour HD stream for free
The second I see an ad pop up on twitch I leave immediately. Idc who I’m watching, I got like 2 or 3 back to back absolutely horrendous.
thats a good thing, you are paying by watching to watch if you cant afford the mental fortitude you should save it. gj.

exactly me bro, I am on my free time just about to open someone completely random on twitch and that ad roll immediately makes me close tab
Pokimanes is someone who actually let money change her. She is not even a fraction of the same person who i watched when she was in college.
I stopped going to twitch all together because of the ads. 3mins of adds to see if I like a stream is too much. With a job 10hr+ a day, every minute counts when at home.
Something that Asmon said " UA-cam probably doesnt want streaming to pop off" isnt because of having huge wage bills on the streaming hosts its mainly because streaming is just way less profitable. Why would they want someone to sit in a stream for 4 hours and watching 0 adds while they could be watching videos for 4 hours hopping video to video and getting like 20-30 ads in total , YT/Google probably has enough profit to sustain big streaming numbers and the tech to make it more efficient for them but as a business they want streaming just so more people will engage with peoples vids.
exactly, also it's just healthier for all the creators on UA-cam since instead of 10,000 people sitting in a livestream, they can be using that time to find new UA-camrs and consistently watch a variety of their favorite UA-camr's videos
theres a crazy amount of superchats tho and yt takes a third of that
@@MetatronsCube23Exactly… not sure what this person is going on about. I’m sure more people are willing to pay for YT premium, than twitch turbo since you’d get all on UA-cam’s videos and you only get streams on twitch. And most of the time, streamers upload to both
It has less to do with Twitch regressing, but rather Pokimane becoming irrelevant

Twitch was never profitable and they had a higher cut than Kick.
There is no way Kick will ever be profitable with less ads and smaller cut while paying Amazon for servers.

I like youtube for live streams because If I catch a stream late I can rewind, play at times 2 speed and catch up to the other viewers.
Thats a solid pt not gonna lie if yt focuses it's efforts on streaming i think it can surpass twitch in some years maybe
100% its because any livestreaming services will never be profitable once scaled up. Only the biggest streams will be profitable, anyone under X amount of viewers simply sucks up money like a blackhole
The current big yt streamers are heavily dominated by asia/sea timezones, its simply a different market than twitch and you can see that by net traffic by the hour
i don’t get what’s so hard to understand, as someone from the uk who has always watched a lot of youtube, live streams on twitch are so awkward to know when to show up because time zones etc but when there’s a livestream on youtube i’m notified and i can see it on the home page when i’m already on the app
“She’s not signing an exclusive deal with anyone” that’s a charitable way of saying it. Nobody wants to sign an exclusive deal with her.
What's the target audience of Poki's cookies? Mynas.
More platform competition is always a good thing, make the platforms compete for your exclusivity that should come with a price tag that's fair.
no twitch contract. definitely no kick contract. guess she's trying to get that youtube contract.
People: She leaving the twitch

People: also coming to UA-cam

She wanted her xqc contract lmao
I find it hilarious that the video that autoplayed for me after this one was a DougDoug Vod, opening up with him saying "Man, UA-cam streaming is a disaster."
I turned 30 last year. That opening was tough 😂

i think just chatting is so big cause everyone does it, even a gaming focus stream. in between matches? swap to just chatting, technical difficulties? swap to just chatting, one of the bois is sparking up a dab? swap to just chatting, someone getting food? swap to just chatting
Yea its just a catch all general category now
I wanna bring up something real quick.
I generally watched esports on twitch and seemed like every time I jumped back and forth, there was always an ad.
Try a UA-cam stream Zack, most people can watch it on TV. Not all services have a Twitch TV app.

For streamers to have such a symbiotic relationship with only one platform is bad business sense. you have to diversify your supply chain.
I've never watched Asmongold on Twitch.
Was gonna say, yeah. Didn't Pekora get top female streamer again too or something?
it is still pretty suck on ux perspective imo because rn UA-cam isn't really focused on livestreaming content in contrast of Twitch.
The slow zoom in the beginning with ludwigs intro is a violation 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'm a Twitch user from Turkey. The minimal hourly wage in my country is around 3 dollars. Don't hate us, we are in an economical crisis. There is nothing we can do. Around 60 percent of our monthly wage goes to rent and 30 percent goes to bills and food costs. We are left with 60-90 dollars to spend on entertainment and misc things for a whole month! :( Unfortunate yet it is the reality. Im explaining this so people can understand why twitch pays 0.09 to the streamers.
I love that twitch streams are allowed to multicast , finally able to watch them on UA-cam now lol.
If Asmon did multi streaming on UA-cam I would watch the shit of his streams
People use some extensions / adblocking technology that hides the ad for the user while it plays, but it still plays the ad so its less-intrusive with loud random ads. These still count towards users watching with ads in the metrics. etc.
How could you watch a company lose money, lose talent and lose respect and still say “Twitch is doing fine”?
twitch is probably in this mess cause of the big contracts they offered before lol
Because Amazon own it
They somehow made a monopoly that has never made profit, its a very interesting space.
Not sure if the ad focused approach will work for twitch. Can see viewers getting annoyed and leaving for another service with less ads

I may be in the minority but I literally deleted my Twitch when I started getting hit with 9 unskippable ads, EVERY stream I went to.

As a youtube guy, we dont want her.
Agreed. I'm gonna block all of her stuff.
We all know YT is going to push her into our recommendations.
Here’s my question can we call her audience simp boys or simps without getting repercussions?
As an Australian I only really watch vod content and I will wait for the UA-cam video because it loads faster plays smoother and I can much more easily block ads ect

(i didn't watch the video yet)
Y’all think Ludwig knows he has a mic boom?
Streaming 1080p 2K and 4K content is very expensive especially when you have thousands of people requesting that at the same time so twitch doesn't want people to stream on their platform either they prefer if there were less people and smaller streams
who is this ludwig guy asmon keeps talking about did mogul mail mention him at some point?
Nah, I feel like she'll be back eventually.
when its green probably.
She's gona celebrate her come back as the second coming of Jesus
I think they offer these contracts every so often so new streamers think they have a shot at getting one and enter the space.
Asmon would do great on youtube too. I hope he tries it out one day. >.< I prefer youtube over twitch.
The only reason I want him on twitch is because the emotes just make it so much better.
