IT"S YOU!!! I was looking on Etsy to see ideas/pricing for ice screen tumblers and your tumbler is there. I would have loved to buy them from you but I need 22 so this will make them extra special. Thanks so much for showing how to do these, I will surely send you pictures when I figure them out.
Haha of course! Be sure to check out my other scoop tutorials with poxy sculpt- SO much easier with that vs spackle bc there is no sealing! Join my tut group too so I can see what you come up with!
Hi! I’ve followed your tutorial and so far it looks great! The link for the magnets isn’t working however? Any help would be greatly appreciated ❤️❤️ ty!
I saw in the video where you added the magnet to the top of the cup but not where you added it to the ice cream scoops. I watched twice but didn't see it - Did I miss something? I was just wondering what your method of marking where you wanted the magnet on the scoops to go in order to line up with the magnet on the cup top. This is FANTASTIC by the way!
I forgot to add that part! When the magnet on the lid is dry- add a magnet on top, put a dab of glue on top of the TOP magnet and line up your scoop straw hold with the lid straw hole and place the scoop on top of the lid. The glue will adhere to the scoop and once dry (I wait 24 hrs) when you remove the scoop one magnet sticks to it, the other sticks to the lid. I hope that makes sense!!
A few questions.... How do you keep the scoops from sticking to the foil? How long do you let them dry for? Do you spray or epoxy them while still on the foil? How do you clean the bowls after you’re done with the spackle?
The spackle can take a few days to dry but it does not stick to the foil. You can easily peel them up. You will be able to feel the weight difference once they are dry- they will be extremely light. I epoxy them on mixing cups. I will usually set them on the cup and epoxy the top, once that it cured I will flip them over and epoxy the bottom. After I am done I will wipe as much of the spackle out of the bowel/ice cream scoop as I can with a paper towel (so there isn’t really any washing down my sink) and then wash them with soap and water.
I love how you design all these gorgeous tumblers and you are drinking out of a plastic cowboys cup with no lid and a plastic straw! 🤣🤣 I only laugh because I do the same thing and I have a cup very similar to that one! Lol
It is pretty messy 😬 I will set it up on a plastic cup and use a small paint brush and paint on the epoxy to the top part. Once that is cured I will flip it over and do the same to the bottom.
Fantastic video! You made it look so easy, I wasn't afraid to try it. I put my scoops directly on the tumbler top. Once they dried I was so happy that they didn't really shrink at all. However, when I turned the top over, you could see mold under the scoops. Any idea why that would happen?
This is why I make mine detachable. If you can not remove the scoops then you can not properly clean the scoops or the lid. Water can get trapped and cause mold to grow.
I am attempting to make these scoops (using the same products in the video) but am having a really difficult time getting this to dry. It has been 5 days drying so far. I thought it was dry, drilled my straw hole, and it was still soft inside. Any suggestions?
Great tutorial! So I tried this technique and my spakle kept getting stuck to the ice cream scooper. After several attempts I just gave up and used a pipping bag. Any idea what I was doing wrong? Thank you 😊
If you check out my other scoop video with poxy sculpt I show how I connect them a little better. I forgot to film it for this video until the LAST minute!
love the video. I see those extreme colors are rather expensive! Since acrylic paint is not recommended what about the inks? or food color? Also when you epoxy your ice cream did you kind of just paint it brush it all over?
Thanks! I will use extreme colors or dispersion colors bc it just takes a small amount to get your desired color. Inks may work, I haven’t tried them but since they are transparent it may take a whole bottle to get your color so you end up spending more money and using more product. The extreme/ DC are more money up front but they will last quite a while.
How long do you let the spackling set up before putting on the epoxy? I used your method of mixing spackling in with the flour on an acrylic mouse ears tumbler. It turned out great! Mint chocolate chip! Made the chocolate chunks out of baked polymer clay. Cut out Oreo rounds for the ears. 1.625” circles. So could see the mint filling sides.
When I glitter I typically do ‘syrup’ like mix glitter into epoxy and then drizzle it on top. If you just want sprinkles of glitter I would sprinkle on and then epoxy over everything.
@@kris10sgirl I have done this with icing but I don’t think the scoops would would bc it wouldn’t have the same shape. I actually have a few more scoop tutorials using a different product that works much better and you don’t need to seal it with anything :)
Your not very clear when explaing the part when you attach magnets to lid or how you put the magnets into bottom of ice cream to connect the top to the lid itself???
I use CCDIY. I use their artist resin- I like it bc it is a thicker formula. And I use their fast set (fast setting epoxy in about 2 hrs). You can use code DAM for $5 off $40. :)
So incredibly cute! Love your Cowboys cup in the background ❤️
Thanks!
Thanks!
Watching this months later so I wondered how they held up over time? I’d love to make some for gifts.
They hold up great. I still have several I made last year and they are perfect. :)!

@@damfancycreations thank you so very much. I think I wasn’t using enough flour because mine stuck but I’m gonna keep trying. I appreciate you!!!
Do you bake your spackle if so for how long time and temp

Bahaha I know!! I do have like 15 tumblers for myself but... gotta love my Cowboys! 🤣
So cute! Do you have a tutorial for the cup in the video?
Not this exact cup! I do have a few drip tutorials but I may do one on this ‘tri split’ design. :)
How much would you charge for a drip cup?
@@dorinatravis all of my cups/prices are listed on my website. :) DAMFancyCreations.com
Love this! Still searching for how to apply the epoxy. Any chance for that tutorial?

Thx I wondered about the same thing
Question. For the hole made for the straw. Would gorilla glue epoxy work? To seal the hole? Since it comes with a tip and plunger?

Thanks! I typically use 2 sets. :)

Hmm maybe it was still too wet? Try adding a little more flour!
This is great...but really confused on the magnetic part...how do they connect...

Oh cute! I would love to see!
For scoops I would typically let it sit for a few days- a week or so depending on the weather. :)

If you just want sprinkles of glitter I would sprinkle on and then epoxy over everything.
Can you explain why you use flour? And how much would you add?
It thickens the spackle so it creates a more realistic texture. I just add until I get the texture I want. :)
Can you seal it with uv resin?
You sure can ☺️
Do you seal the inside of the straw hole just in case it gets wet ? If so how do you do it?
Yes, with paint brush and epoxy.
I have another scoop tutorial with Poxy Sculpt where I don’t seal anything. :)
Wow! ♡♡♡
Can you make cupcake icing with this as well ?
You definitely can, I do NOT mix flour in when I pipe it though. :)
Half of a Styrofoam ball helps build height!
@@damfancycreations thank you
Wonder if u can do the scoop n add a small Styrofoam ball to the inside to make it set up faster n be lighter
@@kris10sgirl I have done this with icing but I don’t think the scoops would would bc it wouldn’t have the same shape.
I actually have a few more scoop tutorials using a different product that works much better and you don’t need to seal it with anything :)
Does it have to be self rising flour or can it be any flour?
I think is can be any, I just grabbed what I had on hand!
What size magnets do you use?
I just checked and the ones I have are 10x3 mm. I will probably get some a little thicker next time!
Is it food colouring
Nothing i use is actually edible 🩷
did you put epoxy inside the straw hoke after you drilled it
I did! With a small paint brush!
How do you epoxy the scoops? Brush on regular epoxy with a paint brush? Or does it have to be UV resin?
I use very thin layers of regular epoxy.
@@damfancycreations thanks so much! Love your work 😊

I have a much more recent tutorial on my channel where I go into more detail. :)
