Great job..I am about to do mine. I liked your process of changing out the fluid compared to some others I've seen. Thanks for the post...Keep RVing Tiffin Allegro Bus 43qgp.
Another nice DIY video Gary, we have never changed our fluid in the Hydro Hot (Aqua Hot knock off) other than a busted pump that had a big leak causing me to replace the pump and a couple gallons of fluid. I need to get the manual out and see what it says since I never thought of actually changing it previously. That fluid is fairly expensive and I think they changed the pink stuff we currently use to something new and I am not sure what fluid i'm supposed to use going forward. Ours doesn't use any fluid so it hasn't been a problem yet, but I know that day is coming. Love your videos and hope all is going well for ya in Florida, it is getting warm here but apparently it is getting almost Hot there.
Hey Bob. I was a firm believer my transfer fluid was good until I found a PDF on Oasis maintenance. I added it to the description if you want to check it out. I have to agree the fluid is expensive. But when you consider replacing an Aquahot is at least 10k it seems like a deal. I found some at camping world for 27 a jug which is half the price on amazon. Camping world does not have it in stock in most cases though. Nice to see its warming up in AZ. We have been baking in 90 degree weather for weeks here and finally getting a welcome break with 70 degrees.
We have the Oasis on our Newmar London Aire. It is a 2018 model and the fluid in the last year has started to turn brown. It is a pain to get at the Oasis Distribution panel as I also have a 1/2 slide. When I replaced the summer loop pump I ended up taking the tray out. I seen where it has a drain and an inlet but they are in the middle of the MH. So I plan on draining all of the century fluid out and then using the pump to suck in distilled water until the outlet is clear. I called ITR and for the 50k BTU they said it holds 12 gallons. I have 2 gallons but need to order the other 10 gallons. Holy smokes that fluid has jumped in price!
Be careful where you buy it. I have noticed on amazon the price is ridiculous. I was able to get a reasonable price ordering it through camping world. At the time it was the best price. Not sure where the best price is today, but don’t buy from the first place it is available without a lot of research. Camping world online was able to direct me to a location I could just pickup what I needed. Most locations have little or no stock. Good luck ! 🤞
Hi Gary! We have a 2013 Aspire. Your tips have been very helpful! We have the same chassis batteries you used, and have followed several other of your tips! Thanks for sharing!
Gary, quick question; once you filled the system with distilled water, you said at the 8 min mark on the video that you 'ran' the system for a while to get it mixed. How did you do that? turn on Gas and/or electric starting the aquahot system? (I'm considering doing mine...and this step gave me pause) TY.
I set the thermostat to the highest temperature and ran it for a few hours with all the windows open. You can also unhook the black wire on each pump and ground them to the box and they will run, but I wanted it to run hot.
HI. I'm just getting into the change and right off the bat I see I need a 90 degree brass fitting on the drain hose. Can you tell me what size I'm looking for and also size of plastic tubing your connecting.
Can you help me find a source for the clear high heat tubing you are using from the AQ unit to the reservoir? All I can find is max 150 degrees. Thanks
I believe I bought it on Amazon. There is silicone tubing that can handle 500F. I am not sure this is the one I purchased but they do have high heat clear tube. amzn.to/4cOpR6K

Great video, I also need to change me fluid. Thanks for sharing
Glad it was helpful! Be sure to flush with distilled water to get it all out.

It is 1/2 inch pex tubing and fittings.
