interesting fact, horses in real life are lead by a mare, usually the oldest, while the stallion protects the herd. it could be that in equestria specifically, it is tradition for mares to be leaders and celestia and luna being powerful immortal rulers just reinforced that tradition. we do see that in the beginning of the show, there are only male royal guards and later in the series some time after twilight becomes an alicorn , we start to see not only more diversity in the royal guard, but mares have joined the guard too! i think this was done by twilight's doing

Technically Sombra wasn't really a unicorn, he was an umbrum in a pony's body. He would become a real unicorn after giving up his evil ways. Lastly Discord desired a place in power even though he had plenty of chaotic power and even immortality. He wanted to become a princess among the Mane Six.
I do think that if the creators wanted a boy alicorn it would still be able to work in the canon and I think that there are boy alicorns in skyros they just never need one in the show because as you said the target audience is little girls and Milo show girl power but I don’t think that all male alicorns are bad I think everyone can be good especially in mlp 😂

I feel like the Alicorn Genetics are like Calico Genetics. The Male Alicorns are more rare because it’s less likely for them to be born. And on occasions they were born and lived to adulthood, they could’ve been sterile (can’t reproduce), and even if they do, no male will be born an alicorn or with the gene, so the population of male Alicorns that did once exist are now extinct or more rare. If terms of Magical Genetic Manipulation (MGM), basically what Celestia did to make Twilight an Alicorn, Magically turn her into one, males probably lack something in them that would allow them to become an Alicorn. Maybe males just never catch the eye of the Princess better than the ripe pickings she choses. Maybe they don’t have strong enough magic to keep a stable form and either end up without magic entirely or dead. Of course, things can happen, and a male alicorn could be found or exist, but then what? They’re a male alicorn, in a world that’s seemly run by women. They probably go into hiding because of the lack of representation and the judgment they probably receive as the only one of their kind.

Stallions tend to be head of families, loners, or form bachelor herds. I’m guessing male alicorns are similar. They must either study or explore the world as loners, have their own families, or live in monasteries/research centers learning things. I would not be surprised if they go around in disguise to learn about the world. They would be interested in how ponies are naturally as well. If so then you might walk by one and not realize it was a stallion alicorn. After writing this a little time later I realized the many stories potentially in this. For instance what if a pony lost in the mountains was near death and was rescued by a stallion alicorn living nearby? Or how about a pony coming across an unknown building far away with only male alicorns? There are similar stories in our world so the potential is there.
There are probably some male Alicorn in skyrus or other lands outside, equestria that's my theory maybe only in equestria females can become alicorns or no males managed to pull up something that are worthy of them becoming one. Or maybe the males didn't want to become alicorns cause they don't want responsibility or to be one kinda like sunny didn't.

Alicorns actually *don't* show up in any real world mythologies. Pegasus is Ancient Greek, unicorns from a wide variety of myths, but nowhere were they combined before the modern age. One of the more promient examples long before MLP used the concept, but released around the same time as G1, is Swift Wind, the "flying unicorn" mount and friend of She-Ra, the Princess of Power from Masters of the Universe. And he was, notably, male. I'm surprised more MLP fans don't bring him up.

Especially since Celestial herself says that Flurrie heart is the first natural born Alicorn. If anything it might support the theory. I think there should have been male alicorns. It would have shown little girls that males and females need to work together to create life and balance. Like in a real life monarchy. Queen Elizabeth II didn't rule alone she had her husband Prince Phillip by her side until his death. They could have made Shining Armor the Prince of Honor. Honor is a virtue too ya know.
The easiest reason to give is that it's a show more oriented toward a female audience, so of course the female characters will get all the cool exclusive stuff (not that it upsets me, but it is the reverse of the shounen effect). There is Prince Leon, but he's not canon.

The lack of male alicorns aside, this is kind of an intriguing possibility of exploring Skyros, the mythical alicorn domain. It would likely be best done in comics, and it would be a fascinating addition and expansion on the lore of the MLP universe. It would be something really neat to explore.

I believe the reason there isn't any male alicorn is because it is far more difficult for a stallion to become one as it takes alot more power essentially

Actually I don’t think it means it was thrown in the trash. Remember alicorn status and power is EARNED. No one is originally born an alicorn. Especially since Celestial herself says that Flurrie heart is the first natural born Alicorn. If anything it might support the theory. Since someone could have taken his Alicorn status away from him trapping it in the Alicorn amulet. Causing him to revert back into his pre alicorn form. For example forcing him back into a unicorn? Just a theory/idea but it shouldn’t just destroy the theory. Especially when Twilight is literally living proof that Alicorn status can be earned.
I think there should have been male alicorns. It would have shown little girls that males and females need to work together to create life and balance. Like in a real life monarchy. Queen Elizabeth II didn't rule alone she had her husband Prince Phillip by her side until his death.
They could have made Shining Armor the Prince of Honor. Honor is a virtue too ya know.

The easiest reason to give is that it's a show more oriented toward a female audience, so of course the female characters will get all the cool exclusive stuff (not that it upsets me, but it is the reverse of the shounen effect). There is Prince Leon, but he's not canon.
Tbh, there are probably male alicorns in skyrose, and they might make an appearance in MLP MYM

The lack of male alicorns aside, this is kind of an intriguing possibility of exploring Skyros, the mythical alicorn domain. It would likely be best done in comics, and it would be a fascinating addition and expansion on the lore of the MLP universe. It would be something really neat to explore.
