Hello, thanks for this….not easy to find track test for this monster!
I hope you, or whoever would like to help me, have the patience to read and advice.
I owned a Panigale 899, I really loved the engine. I used it mainly on slow/medium tracks which I loved!
Although intermediate high amateur, I am looking at the monster SP since for me even 150HP were too much.
I am a little bit “afraid” of Ducati: with the Panigale I had fun, or even adrenaline, for 7 years. The thing is, on that bike concentration had to be at max level and sometimes losing fun is easy.
My question is, is this monster still a “Ducati” were concentration has to be always high? Should I consider the pest Aprilia 660, instead, to have fun without any effort?
PS: the downsized engine is not an issue, my Aprilia RS 250 was better than both!
    Thanks Luca

Nice one Toad, less is more when it comes to fun......well there is a limit of course, else we'd all stay on 125s 😂

I don't know, I think a 125cc road bike trackday would be a hoot - have you ever done a Plop Enduro?!

As one of a few who owned the 1200R, I always felt it was overlooked by the motorcyle media. 163bhp, 160kg would blow the baby SP out of the water, but never given the publicity, reviews or road tests this gets.
I'd rather have a 5 yr old R than the SP.

I was told by Leeds bike tyres that the rosso corsa 4 is dual ply and the edges are actually supercorsa rubber.

I really want one of these but my bank balance is telling me no; my bank balance may eventually lose this argument 🙂

Well, to make you feel better about it, at least the SP is cheaper than the new 30° Anniversario model, so it's basically a bargain!

@@timothymills733 SP looks better than 30th and $3K cheaper too. 30th will just be a collector's item at its price point.

Cheeky.. no mention of the Hyper in any of that line up.
I was there that track day.. had an interesting little drag race down the Wellington Straight with you (on my channel)..
Its a good looking bike with nice parts as standard and having test rode the SP I still have the same opinion - Monster SP for boys, Hyper SP for men.
