A Chinese person or someone who only knows a small amount of Chinese or Japanese can learn it more faster, I only know a small amount of Chinese characters but I learning the difference between each piece is a breeze to me because Chinese characters are similar to Japanese Kanji.
However, telling the difference of promoted pieces is much more harder because they are Japanese Hiragana and are completely different from Chinese Characters and they are in a Cursive format.

I was watching March Comes In Like A Lion. Nice drama anime, but it's set with the main character being a pro Shogi player. You don't need to know anything about Shogi to enjoy it, but I was completely lost during some of the parts. Searched UA-cam, and found your vid. TY. Was exactly what I was looking for.

I can't get any enjoyment from playing a CPU because it doesn't actually think. The CPU just searches through a database of recorded moves and looks up the best option. It's not that bad on the kyu ranks, but once you start playing on the dan levels, it's pretty much impossible to win unless you just find a shogi simulator with a better database than the one in Yakuza.
