I bought a replica of a Chanel brooch for $20 to compare materials etc. The real brooch cost $800 and was made of the exact same materials-brass, synthetic pearls, glass. The other one is a $40 *jklux* backpack replica - also good for comparison - I can't find any differences and still use it in the gym

They are known for their very low entry level jewelry pricing and in the US extremely recognizable and far more popular than Cartier or van cleef. You’ll by far see WAY more David yurman than Cartier or van cleef. Almost every girl has a David yurman bracelet / ring
The reason I particularly like Cartier is that the quality and colour of their gold and 'rose gold' are just the right gold tone for my skin. I usually hate rose gold but Cartier gets it right. Honestly, other brands are a bit too yellow in comparison. Cartier managed to create the perfect gold tone. Also, the price range may be higher, but with Cartier you get an art piece that will retain its value, guaranteed. Other brands won't, guaranteed.
