We went on a lovely cruise last April. The only two shops on the ship were Cartier and Bvlgari. I didn’t do any shopping, I couldn’t even afford to window shop.

I have my mom's VCA Alhambra necklace. Only one motif, and it's lapis and yellow gold. I was a kid when my dad gave it to her at Christmas 1968. I have no idea how much he paid, and it's been so long that I no longer have any packaging. It does have the VCA tag near the clasp, and it has been authenticated. I wear it only occasionally. I've owned it since my mom died in 2013. I keep it my gun safe. (Jan Griffiths).

Even Cartier perfumes are exquisitely made. Genuine stones are all that Cartier has ever used. While I genuinely enjoy many pieces of jewelry and other jewelers aesthetically, Cartier is equivalent to two words: exquisite and genuine.
That is not to say that others are not top level. Tiffany is unique. Van Cleef uses Al Hambra motifs.
Each has its own appeal, but Cartier is still my favorite.
Although a "tiffany setting" for precious stones showcases the stone's beauty and fineness, not the artistry of the jeweler.

Perfect workmanship, exquisite styles and unique designs.. but they also have another common thing that is the lack of warmth. Therefore some might find it to be repulsive, not appealing.
