The production design of this show is Luke/Lukas hull, who also did Cherynobyl. Tony Gilroy called him his first collaborator on the show in interviews, so I think that's part of why the world building is so in tune with story.
@ 24:43 Ltleeroyjenkins here This is why Cassian Andor is one of my favorite characters in Star Wars. The first time we meet him in Rogue One He reminds me of what Garek said about espionage There is no compassion There is no sentiment There is no regret and no remorse There is only the mission And since the show takes place before Rogue One I could appreciate the efficiency displayed in the killings here Not in good technique, I just mean the right mindset to have Another point I have to make us. This is one of the reasons I avoid conflict and fights in real life because death really is just a fall away. Someone knocks their head too hard they’re gone in an instant And now your whole life has changed
Well this is a nice surprise, ive been on a bit of a Lore Enterprise binge, and i guess i havent been paying super much attention to your recent stuff, seeing as everytime i see something its usually a videogame im super not into, but this is a nice treat and glad to see new Ruminations on "newer" stuff...tho i am not sure if you have subjected yourself to Discovery or Picard yet, lol. Nice to see you again Lore.
The code phrase reminds me of the Breaking Bad universe: "I need a new dust filter for my Hoover MaxExtract PressurePro model 60 - can you help me with that?" The best part is that particular model doesn't use dust filters since it's a carpet cleaner.
Did lorerunner really say that he is a movie director or was it hypothetical? 33:50 Great episode of Star Wars. Great review. Strangely long delay in publishing. The video file time stamp is about half a year old. Lore could say the date on each video or have date clock behind. Lore is kind of a "professor of science fiction" for many practical purposes.
So hyped for this Rumination since I just re-watched Andor a couple of weeks ago....such a good show. Edit: Regarding the Avatar movie....yeah, the whole 2010's 3D TV industry..if it wasn't for the Avatar movie, that wouldn't have happened (probably)
@@numberl6A lot of human history happened before our current calendar. when talking about civilizations that were around before then we still use the modern calendar
One of the few issues I have with the KotORs, especially the first one, is the unnecessary adjective technobabble. To be fair to Andor and its earnings, didn't it come out after Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi soured the audience's hopes for salvaging the Disney timeline? And then Mando 3 came anyway. I'm not going to waste my time and money going to Disney+ to watch anything related to the sequel trilogy, though I am much more interested in your opinion, Lore. Unlike other shows, all I get from people who watch Andor is "it's good" with no explanation or recommended videos to form an opinion of my own. I have seen one person use the "it doesn't look like Star Wars" argument to say that it's bad, but just by looking at the promos I can tell that's not a fair argument.
When it comes to Andor videos and observations that go beyond "it's good", I could recommend several dedicated to political analysis of the show. I try not to around here, because I know a lot of the particularly active UA-cam commenters lean more to the right and will shout "Rax is woke, they aren't worth listening to" from the rooftops. Sure, fuck it. I'm as woke as they come, and Andor is a decidedly leftist take on Star Wars. Get back to me if you'd like some video recommendations about the show. 👍

I found that 5 BBY poignant because it's also a timer. This is a story about a man who has five left years to live.

There is no sentiment

Of course Lore recognizes a theater actor on sight, that’s awesome

Ah, Jeri Taylor! Voyager had potential until she started writing. I still remember Threshold and "Kellenium biscuits".
I think Silo set design just blew everyone else completely out the water
It was all flimed in London only a few sets used the volume like the jungle planet most of the sets where practical.
i'm not sure about the use of BBY/ABY because like, why not come up with a calendar that would actually be used in-world?
It is used in world. Maybe not at the time of Andor, but looking back.
Bby is also pretty important to Cassian seeing as he dies... At 0bby
@@Mal-sg6zc sure, sure, but “maybe not at the time of Andor” is a big one for me. most of Star Wars history happens before the BY!

Avatar is so intrinsically tied to Cameron as a creator that I don't know how one even could try to imitate or milk it without him
51:59 iso. Prefix everything with iso.
oh good I wanted someone to watch it for me 🍿🍿🍿
Ah, Andor and Rebels. Two shows that tonally could not be more different.
Made by a guy, who does not like SW. Yep, that tracks.

@Raxaimus
Thanks, Rax, but I think I'll just stick to Lore's analysis.
