    Haha I just harvested 20+ stalks from less than 5 minutes away from a year round creek and I'm going to attempt to transplant some I dug up with that specific purpose in a wet weather creek, and now I will also try to propagate some cutting as you showed. Thanks. Everyone wish me luck and a year from now remind me and I'll let you know how it turned out! Cheers!

      That is amazing! So lucky you have a place where it grows naturally. I have actually just moved onto a small 3 acre property where its right next to the Columbia River where it used to grow River cane. It was over harvested and once they made the River area into parks, it was also killed off. My goal is to bring it back, at least on my property where I am allowed to grow it.lol I know it hasn't been a year, or even close. But I am very curious to know how your River cane is doing so far? If you don't mind sharing:)

    what does it take to get some starts from you? I am in southeast Iowa right on the border of Missouri and Iowa. It used to grow wild here but was harvested or burnt off decades ago.

      Hey, did you ever get any? I got some down here in Texas, I don't know the first thing about what it would take to transport such things, and I sure couldn't drive it up there myself, but I wouldn't mind figuring it out for the cause of spreading this good stuff around

    I started a stand of mountain (Hillbilly) cane in my yard about ten year ago. Making my first arrows this winter.

      I know this is a year old but do you know where I can buy or find some mountain cane? I've been searching online for a while now and haven't found any for sale. I would love to grow some in my yard since it's an amazing native bamboo that has so many uses.

    Is there a certain time of year that is best? I live in coastal SC, right now it's kind of cold 50s day 39s at night. Is this too cold?

      They took for about a month and stopped growing. I’m thinking that the soil change stunted them.

    Does it matter what kinda soil they are put in

    • @Surefootsurvival
      @Surefootsurvival  4 роки тому

      Osbaldo Hernandez The closer you can get to soil that you typically see one river/creek banks the better. So soil that has sand in it will work fine.
