That's Oblivion in a nutshell. In a way, it makes complete sense as a music choice for that moment.
With time, I actually started to find Oblivion music eerie, since it represents well the cheerful surface of Oblivion, while the game can get decently dark at times.

I just love that Arthur is screaming "Emperor, save me!" and that madman Uriel actually does it. Uriel motherfucking Septim VII just backstabs the hell out of a cultist to save Arthur. I wonder if Arthur will remember that moment when he turns over a new leaf.

The PS:T music sounds weirdly good in the start dungeon. They're such drastically different games that I would not have expected it.
Also somehow, Arthur doesn't look like a potato. Considering, especially, that you haven't installed face/head mods the results are pretty damned impressive.

These intros you make, and the like, are why your Let's Plays are generally a head and shoulder above most of the ones floating out there. These deserve more views than they get for sure.

Ahh , Bretons, many of them are kown for being good maged. However, a lot of Bretons are also known for excellent stealth archers.

Just finished the patreon daggerfall, figured it makes sense to now rewatch Arthur’s letsplay!
I started by watching ep 63, then began ep 64, then decided I'd watch from the beginning. I liked the intro quite a bit. The way you punctuate everything with "UM!" reminds me of my dad, but he only does it sometimes. You do it constantly.
You made it into the suggestions for people who watch a ton of Bethesda content. Congratulations. I've even subscribed, though it'll be a little while before I'm current.
Oh my god, oblivion? Id never even hoped, lets hope it lasts. The nostalgia in this game is so strong for me

This has got to be the coolest intro to a series I think I’ve ever seen. Super well done. Love the old school art, the narration was excellent, and the backstory to your character is interesting. Can’t wait to binge this series!
I come back to your channel after years, yours being the first that got me into watching Let's Plays in the first place and I am greeted with more Oblivon, this time with a smashing, artful intro and the promise of some great mods. I'm in for the longhaul again methinks!

FINALLY a decently paced Oblivion playthrough! I like it when people take their time and immerse themselves with the game, like with Grimithr's Daggerfall playthroughs.

I kinda lost interest in Claudius as the amount of roleplay got lower and lower at one point (not sure if it got better after that becuse i stopped watching), so i hope the roleplay will be in focus on this one (I mean, i understand that you wont stay in character all the time, but i personaly prefear if you do stay in character more then you don't).
You might have already but if you haven't you should watch the finale episode of his Skyrim let's play. It was pretty awesome.
Im in the process of rewatching it from the start now. We shall see if i manage to get through it all :P (I have a hard time when SorcererDave starts getting tired of the game (and its bugs) and complain alot while not rping most of the time, i love the parts where he gets realy in character and seem to be enjoying himself).

Arthur reminds me very much of Artaris, my high elf mage-thief in Skyrim. He's the best character I ever roleplayed. A thief, an illusion mage, an archer, he was so much fun. Think I might redo his story again, maybe even take him to Bruma in Beyond Skyrim. I really am glad you are playing this type of character in Oblivion, Dave. This is going to be so much fun.

Nearly two months later, but I have to comment. Ooooh the music! I found it super fitting when the Planescape: Torment music started playing since you had Morte in your inventory.

I don't know if that's an Arena/Daggerfall reference with the guards going "Halt! Halt! Halt!" but if it is, great job. I distinctly remember that being all they said when they hunted you down. It was a rather monotone thing, more like "Halt....... Halt....... Halt...... Halt." Anyways, mate, glad to see this series, even if I am a bit late.

the little intro was well made, and really draws you into the story you've set up
I actually really liked the intro you did for the character. It had this old Epic tale feel to it. There are probably better examples, but for me it kind of reminded me of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (the live action Robin Hood movie with Kevin Costner, Morgan Freedman and Alan Rickman). I really liked that movie when I was younger and the thing that really stood out to me was the way they showed a tapestry while playing music for the opening credits. It was also the movie Robin Hood: Men in Tights was spoofing pretty much.
I can already tell I'm going to adore Arthur with as much fervor as I did Claudius
