I have the same breed! they are really great dogs. just so u know: I got mine as a puppy, he is now 12. be careful of allergies, they can be very prone to them (so watch diet, my dog had to have a certain one). also watch out for ear, skin, & eye infections, those are super common in this breed & they need regular grooming. keep an eye out for your puppy's teeth too. I wish you the best with your adorable pup

rachel lee i also had a shih tzu since his puppy stage and all i can say is savour his puppy stage they’re still the best breed when they become but savour this stage of his life be careful with him walking around they’re so small and i remember my dog would accidentally get stepped on and we’d feel so bad but you just don’t see him he even sprained his leg at one stage.lastly maintenance as small as they seem they need a lot of work groom, training, supervision etc. Shih tzu are an amazing breed even all the work i have to put into him i wouldn’t take it back even after everything.
Hi I just bought a 5 months old Imperial Shih tzu recently, we been noticing he been eating poop is this normal or if you experienced it with your pup?
@@huykicks3213 lol yes he would do that all the time. it was a bad habit. most dogs just like poop. I wouldn't be worried about it. Sometimes it can be due to a diet deficiency but as long as you're feeding your pup a decent dog food you're prob fine

My Shih Tzu hated being in the crate, she had terrible separation anxiety at the beginning. I stopped the crate and once she had her basket in my bedroom at night she could see me and she was calm. They always want to be with their owners.

I remember when my wife brought home one of these dogs from her friend's house. I said to her something like, "Why didn't you bring a Lab or Springer Spaniel since that is all we have ever owned?" She told that was all she had. At first I was a little disappointed. However, within a week we were best buds. Really cool breeds with unique personalities.

I never crated my puppies. They learned quickly and slept in the room with us to feel safe.
Its usually more of a way to prevent separation anxiety, and so they don't get into things. Or maybe since there small not to get lost lol.

How are you and your little "Tzus" doing! I applaud you for getting 2 because they won't be alone when you are not at home! My first pair lived 17 yrs! At 65, I got my two tiny sisters at 8 wks, and now at 71 they have kept me young! They will go to my Grandson (who lives with me) should I be called to Heaven one day!! You are in for hilarious days and so much fun (Also double the trouble!!!) I know they are adorable and they will be devoted to you!!!!

Aww Rachel JOJO reminds me of my previous dog who was a Pekingese , but unfortunately I lost her during the pandemic due to health issue as she was getting older😪. Also where did you found about JOJO was it from a breeder or rescue, I am trying to find a Shih tzu but their really tough to find around my area🥺.
