I've seen other clips with this family from the same training visit. There's the silly bother (of the wife) who antagonizes Jake at the door. There's the food guarding. There's Jake's protective behavior on the adults' bed, resulting in the father taking over the girl's bedroom.
The mom enrages me. As soon as the dog bites her daughter she puts on the “no no” with authority as if she didn’t suggest that in the first place. She plays awkward and oblivious when she is put on the spot and makes it all about herself. She’s too much of a coward to confront them because she knows she’s wrong but you can see she resents people for her own mistakes. I feel bad for the daughter, she’s learning some horrible life lessons.
"But she doesn't get bit every day" But she shouldn't get bit at all Edit: THANKS FOR THE LIKES I'VE NEVER GOTTEN THIS MANY Edit: I'm trying to say it's the parents fault they should have seen Jake's beaver and told her to stop
So people say bad stuff about pitbulls and other “mean” dogs big dogs, but i have two pitbulls who have never hurt me or barked at my family or hurt my family so lets stop talking bad about them
Dogs are the same as humans, some good, some bad. But in my opinion, it's all about mistresses and genes. When buying a dog, one should know the conditions. Pitbull can be both good and aggressive. People are afraid of them because they have been breed for dog fighting in the past, and the genes are still in them. But that doesn't mean a pitbull can't be good. When the owner buys a dog, he should know if he can handle it, (I'm talking about all breeds and small ones.) I apologize for this long opinion ..; D
Right?? I have a pit bull border collie mix and she is the sweetest, I swear to God she cries to be pet and to play with other dogs, she would never hurt anyone. My neighbor has a Maltese and she's the devil, she is really aggressive and runs to bite people, she doesn't even care, she just bolts in your direction and bites you out of nowhere, she always tries to attack my dog whenever we pass by, but her owners thing she's just playing just cuz she's little. I always say if my dog acted 1% the way she does, she would've been put down already, it's just not fair
Right! It depends on the experience of the dog! A bad training or no training at all leads to a "wild dog" or simply a dog that doesn't know how to behave with humans. Agressive behaviors doesn't go on genes, it is develop over time
God I hope they called CPS on this family. They kicked the girl out of her own room bc of the dog, and dont take her seriously at all when she's visibly in pain. Her emotional state is neglected, her physical health is neglected, and her dad has a knack for verbally berating people.
@@n1mra. berating means criticizing/scolding someone, usually when it happens when someone is angry. Like a mom yelling at a kid for no reason because she’s frustrated, she’s berating the child.
The parents’ lack of concern for their child being bitten by the dog is absolutely appalling! One day that dog would have inflicted a serious bite and they would have had no choice but to put the dog down. The fact that the mother treated the dog like a toy/accessory played a huge part in the dog’s behavior.
If your dog is starting to physically hurt your children, then it’s time to decide. Your family, they’re well-being, and health, or the dog. There is no more waiting and asking for help. Take action and keep your family safe. That is a parents job, to keep children and other family members safe.

@Mel Ullom if you couldn't even train a dog to not do that properly then in the beginning you never ever should own a dog. If you'll have one in the future and because of your stupidness it happens to bite someone and got killed because of it that is on you. You are the murderer of that dog. Train your children, your dogs and yourselves.
@Mel Ullom better stop producing kids and getting dogs if u are unable to train both of them. Its people with ur mentality that gets dogs euthanized every single day. Quit that bs
Understanding dog behavior is so important. You have to understand what the dog likes and dislikes. It is especially important to teach your child how to read body language.
Unfortunately, she did know exactly what Jake was telling her to leave him alone and she had ignored his warning anyway that led to being bitten when she had been speaking to Victoria.
:Dad mad at dog* :Daughter upset about dog* :Mom Doesn’t care less about her family getting bit* :Victoria upset at mom that doesn’t care about everybody’s injuries*
First off it’s not just on the breed. Dogs are animals remember we can’t forget that no matter how much we humanize them. But it’s all on the trainer no such thing as bad dogs. Just bad trainers. If your not going to take the time to train your dog properly don’t own one. Their not toys. Mine is a purebred chihuahua. And he’s the sweetest ever despite his reputation as a chihuahua. I trained him to be obedient sweet and calm. It’s all about the trainer. I blame them. Not the dogs.
@@ziacaffey6279 from google: Pain severe enough to make you cry does offer one benefit, though. Research suggests that when you cry, your body releases endorphins and oxytocin. These natural chemical messengers help relieve emotional distress along with physical pain. In other words, crying is a self-soothing behavior.
At first I thought he was being intentionally dramatic but then realized it was probably a genuine scream. And wasn't this the family where the woman's brother intentionally taunted and harassed the poor dog to the point he pees and poos on furniture? Then the woman and husband laugh like it's some big joke. Serves him right to shriek then. Poor dog can't even feel safe in his own home.
You're right in that this family shouldn't have a dog. But, Jake really isn't a nasty dog. He's stuck with a family who is completely clueless, and he is trying to communicate with them in the only way he can. As a trainer, I realize that I can read him better than they can, but he really is being very clear.
Parents and daughter were ignoring Jake’s physical body language of do not touch me and leave me alone before he had reacted with self defense bite when they had continually reach for him. It is common sense to watch out for physical body warning signs that is always shown before animals will react in self defense after human has ignored their warning to back off from them. Jake had been giving strong nonviolent physically warning them to not touch strongly beforehand for which they had totally ignored that led to biting. I do blame people more so than dog who had definitely given strong nonviolent warning to not touch. Animals will defend themselves when people choose to ignored their nonviolent physical first warnings to stopped messing with them before biting happens.
Dogs aren't toys, you have to train and work with them. A well-trained dog is a safe, happy dog. My grandmother used to own maltese and bichon frise before she passed away, she always went through puppy preschool with each dog because she understood that no matter the size a dog is a dog.

Victoria is exactly right. I had a rescue dog very similar to Jake and turned his behavior around, 180° (for the most part) within one week. He was 100% retrained within 6 weeks. Without realizing it, this family has been teaching Jake exactly how to behave. Instead of INTERacting in a way that’s socially acceptable, Jake has been REacting in the only way he knew how. Victoria’s awesome.
This is so important to see honestly, like not all dogs like being pet all the time and it's important to respect the dog when it gives you signals they don't like something. Like when our family dog got older and started being annoyed by things she didn't care about before we just needed to give her space and change our behavior around her. Or with our dog now, she doesn't like strangers around her giving her attention but when you don't try to touch her she sniffs you and leaves. We don't need to try change dogs behavior every time they do something, sometimes it's us not giving the dog what they need to be comfortable. Edit: After reading some replies I would not expect seeing after saying you should respect your dog, I would like to add that I don't think you should allow your dog everything and not train them. I just don't like y'all thinking that dogs are just some thing you can shape to behave like you want and imagined without thinking about their personality. In my family we had lot's of dogs during my life and each was different even after similar training cause they all had different personalities.
I mean at that point you’re just catering to the dog. The dog seems to be training you, not the other way around. You shouldn’t have any problem petting your own dog. Every dog has to know that YOU are the alpha of the pack. And it’s not about human ego, it’s in they’re nature; every dog desperately needs to know their position in the pack. If they don’t, they become frustrated and anxious. I’m telling you this because I have a friend that used to think it was normal that his dog didn’t like to be touched or even approached while he (the dog) was eating. His dog would growl at him for even getting near his bowl. That’s not right. That wasn’t the dog’s ‘personality’, it’s just bad training or lack there of.
@@ianl.gutierre1341 it COULD be lack of training, but not always. This happens a lot due to bad breeding. Backyard breeders will breed dogs just to make a quick buck without any consideration to their behavior & when they breed that dog, they end up with puppies that grow up with the same behavioral issues. Not every dog is going to be able to tolerate being just a pet. Those are the types of dogs you can use to your advantage for other things, like working or guarding.
@@kaileesi Actually that’s a very good point. I was looking at it from my perspective, as all the dogs my family and I have owned were from reputable breeders. I would assume it would be significantly more difficult to train a dog bred with such callousness. Yet another reason to hate backyard breeders; it’s very hard to tell the damage they’re doing. Even worse are those damn puppy mills. The authorities haven’t done enough to shut those down. There’s a lot of them in Eastern Europe.
My dog's signals are clear. If she's had enough of people, she jumps on my lap to tell me "get me out of here". Only happens with annoying dogs, but it did happen with two kids who did not play nice. Beyond that, one should learn to read their dog's patterns to know what situations to avoid and how to get them out of those situations beforehand. The dog showed in the video oozed the message "don't touch me" Edit: sorry if this sounds insensitive.
But why don't the mom just pick the dog up and they get in the car and the mom holds the dog and they go somewhere and then go to the doctor and they put him down and he says I think the doctor should just teach her how to be a doctor the mom how to be a doctor and then the and then the mom fix him

I've seen other clips with this family from the same training visit. There's the silly bother (of the wife) who antagonizes Jake at the door. There's the food guarding. There's the discovery of a second dog the family is hiding in the bedroom - the woman's mother left her dog with them while she went to Africa. The grown-ups decided they just wouldn't tell Victoria.

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUU
Agressive behaviors doesn't go on genes, it is develop over time
And peopel talk about my little dog they’re like “KEEP THAT DEVIL AWAY FROM ME” so how about we stop making stereotypes about dogs xD

If your dog is starting to physically hurt your children, then it’s time to decide. Your family, they’re well-being, and health, or the dog. There is no more waiting and asking for help. Take action and keep your family safe. That is a parents job, to keep children and other family members safe.

At first I thought he was being intentionally dramatic but then realized it was probably a genuine scream. And wasn't this the family where the woman's brother intentionally taunted and harassed the poor dog to the point he pees and poos on furniture?

Nice learn more from this lady🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
In my family we had lot's of dogs during my life and each was different even after similar training cause they all had different personalities.
this dog wasnt just biting because of being pet. this comment was useles
The dog showed in the video oozed the message "don't touch me"
