    I got my new Reckless in the mail the other day. I have to admit, I'm really amazed by this products. The quality in the material used and the attention to details are just crazy. Can't wait to test this out on a longer trip later this month. Enjoy

    Looks great! One thing to note from testing the Kriega stuff on hard off road: the back of the foot peg is sharp, and it WILL cut through that strap. Highly recommend doing something to circumvent that. Kriega totally changed their design to prevent it.

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  4 роки тому

      That is a great tip mate! Will put some layers of gorilla tape around the footpegs so there is no hard or shard angles. I had Kriega on my Racing bike some years back! Great system, but a pain to pack and take on and off the bike

    I have the first gen version, and it’s nice to see the newer version has an adjustable angle for the side bags to customize the fit. I have two sets of Nomad mounting straps for my 1290 SAS and Tiger 800. Strangely enough, the Nomad actually bumps my Race On switch on the 1290 at full lock, but probably just a symptom of any tank bag.
    Overall, I’ve been very happy with both setups. Had them both for 2 years. Great for long multi week trips and weekend trips. Very durable. I really like the beaver tail on the Reckless, super versatile; shoving the side bags in is a bit of a pain. I think you’ll be very happy with the gear, have fun!

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you Jaron :-) Yeah, i really like the option that you can adjust the angle of the legs... makes it suit more bikes and to find a custom fit. I have notice the Nomad is a little wider at the base than a "normal" tankbag, but not as high... I have bar raiser on mine, so there is no problem with overall touching. I found the solution for side bags to get them in and out, a little bit of dust and them slide right down there :-)

I loded up the R80 and Nomad fully and did a ride tomtestbit out as well. Very robust and solid luggage system an fir to the bike when jumping and bumping around.

      Hahaha... it was the only picture i had :-P Can't wait to see footage of your trip out testing them. I may put on something at the far end of my left side to support the reckless (not sure if it's needed) The Nomad is really good... just hope it will fit all my gear, the new drone is quite a bit larger :-P

    • @tshansen

      There is moer "hassle" with softbags, no matter what system you use... If you find the right technique and know what to put in the bottom and what to put on top, there is no hassle at all. But you need to have a plan on your setup before riding. I think it is really well done with the beaver tail and the many options to store things in smaller pockets. I'm impressed :-)

    I left the passenger pegs on the bike to strap the sides of the Reckless 80 to. Do you find the straps interfering with your boots?
    Check the right bag for signs of damage from the heat shield. I had my heat shield poorly placed the first time and the front edge cut into the bag. I think you will be very happy with these - I am. Cheers

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah, i was wondering if i should do the same, have too se if the strops are in the way when i have got to use it for a while :-) I don't find them interfering with my boots now, but that may change when i start to ride active on the trails. I think there is no better way to mount the heat shield, i put it as long forward as possible.

    • @grendelprime166
      @grendelprime166 4 роки тому

      Sorry to hear about your damage. The first time I used mine on the 690 with a properly placed shield, the Corner of the coolest part of the Wings Aftermarket Exhaust has left an impression in the foam. I can't really place a shield there, so I'm looking for some options. I'm leaning on some heat resistant tape or pad added to that one location.

    • @tshansen
      @tshansen  2 роки тому

      Yes, I'm still really happy with this setup. It works really good for my kind of traveling. But, I have to say... there are times I prefer my Enduristan bags over the Mosko Moto ones. It just makes it much easier to split up how much I want to carrie on the bike in a better way than Mosko. And the Price difference from Enduristan to Mosko, I'm not sure I would have paid so much more for so little extra. I will never get back to hard boxes again. Softbags are so much better in my opinion

    • @wop9113
      @wop9113 2 роки тому +1

      Hmmm, thanks for mentioning the Enduristan bags. Makes it much easier to decide🤔when there is a third option… but nevertheless it was a good hint since I do have another requirement you did not know. Easy mount & dismount of the bags when travelling and staying over night in hotels. And that happens quite often on trips to the alps and such. One can’t leave the bags on the bike over night.

    • @tshansen
