Every time I listen to this song, I think of my best friend (who actually introduced me to kflay) who died 3 years ago, 3 days before Christmas. The lines "I wish I'd know it'd be the last time" resonate in my head. I really wish I'd known our last moments together were the last time I'd see him, hug him, or talk to him. I'd have done a better job telling him how much he mattered to me, how much he impacted my life (from silly breakups, to introducing me and my husband, being at my wedding, going on wild adrenaline rush adventures, always being the best friend I ever had), how loved by everyone he truely was, and how fucking insignificant a stupid breakup is compared to the amazing things he had ahead of him in life. Man, had I known it was a goodbye that night, I'd have fucking tried harder to make him stay with my husband and I or at least make him realize he would never be alone. He always had a place in our home and someone to help him through the worst of lifes bullcrap. What a useless degree psychology is when you can't even read between the lines. This song just tears at my heartstrings.
