"These songs didn't make the final cut for Atonement," says Jesse Leach. "Choosing which songs make an album remains a tough process for me. While the songs that made the most sense appear on the album, I'm still attached to every song I write. So, when the idea came up to put these B-Sides out and donate funds to a charity, I was relieved at the idea and the band unanimously agreed to the cause. I am proud these songs get to see a release, and to help others in the process is a huge bonus."
He continues, "These songs were written during a very difficult and uncertain time of my life. They are written with two perspectives: that of a struggling, angry, frustrated man having a crisis of faith, life, and love and a man finding the will and the strength to change perspective, try again, and to fight through it all. Although these songs may not have made the cut for the album, they are deeply meaningful songs that I believe in whole heartedly. Lyrically, they are some of my favorites that I have written. From the very personal 'Hollow Convictions,' 'No Devotion,' and 'I Feel Alive Again,' to the battle cry songs of 'Killing of Leviathan,' 'Prophets of Treason,' and 'The Great Beyond,' it tells the story of my journey and my view of the world around me."
The singer finishes, "Big thanks to Metal Blade for partnering up with us on this! Also thank you to Center for Disaster Philanthropy for their amazing work! Lastly, thanks to all of you for purchasing the songs and contributing to helping those who are in desperate need during these uncertain times."

I felt atonement was incomplete with the album only being 39 minutes long. This B-Side makes it complete.
I get where you're coming from but I thought it was the perfect length. Every song shines and is memorable. Once an album goes over 12 or 13 songs the excess gets lost in the shuffle
Mark Armstrong longer songs promotes more lyrical flow and gives more room for for other instrumental stuff. “I am broken too” was a waste. You have 2 choruses pretty much 10 seconds away from each other. Nothing really happened there lyrically

Longer songs provide more time to waste space as well.
Long or short makes no difference to a songs quality. Some 9 minut songs aren't long enough, some 3 minute songs are too long.
They should release a special edition with these on and add the alternate version of can't be the only one
More bands need to do it, this is so pleasing for the fans.

For real. So many bands have so many great songs that they just toss away and mostly the ones that don't make the cut are better then the actual album.
A lot of metal bands are doing this right now. Just search around on UA-cam. I believe August Burns Red just released some B-Sides too. They're doing it for fund raising for their crews. No tours means no shows. No shows means no work for the crew. No work for the crew means no money. I have found myself throwing down a bit of cash on a few of these types of releases for that exact reason. They're an important part of many of our favorite bands even though they don't get the shine or glory. Hardworking dudes and dudettes.
YQu're being TrQlled the only band to truly not get any glory it so rightly fully deserves is shadows fall not saying KSE isn’t amazing or anything cause they’re awesome but a lot more people listen to them then you think based of your comment

@@triviummaniac4885 Shadows Fall are legends as far as I'm concerned but that doesn't equate to commercial success, fame, or fortune. The problem with them is they made their rise during the early boom of metalcore and didn't have a truly unique portrayal. Everything from the singing, lyrics, music composition, drumming... Etc was pretty Vanilla. That doesn't mean it wasn't good, I'm just stating the obvious. In the arms race between them and KsE, they lost.
recorded some tracks at zing in 2000 with adam. I was 18 and so nervous..adam lightened the mood by telling me what he was going to do with my mother lol...it was hard to not smile every time he spoke. Our band didn't do shit lol but the few weekends I got to go there and record were amazing. 20 years later,Im so happy they are still going strong and tearing it up

I’m 100% with you guys! I mean I literally cry driving around singing Hollow Convictions, No Devotion, I Am Broken Too etc😭 I have been battling serious health and depression issues for a few years now and KSE and especially Jesse have truly helped me survive! I can’t explain how much they mean to me! I know I might be a pussy for crying to metal but it’s been really rough and I’m a pretty emotional dude anyway! Life can really beat you down at times but I’m fighting my hardest and trying to focus more on helping other people who need help or are struggling! I have really gained a lot of empathy for people over the last 10 years of pain, suffering, and depression. I have a different mindset towards people now than I did before I hit rock bottom and I hope anyone who sees this post that is struggling or suffering with anything that they know they are not alone and to try to understand that no matter how bad everything seems that they are special and that if you keep fighting and pushing through then you will truly gain strength and knowledge of how strong you really are! If you feel alone in your suffering I truly understand how you feel because even though I have a couple people who truly care about me I am the one that has to deal with the pain and suffering! Words really don’t have much of an actual impact on my pain or mental suffering! But the more that I have to face only strengthens me in a way that really cannot be summed up in words! I’m still dealing with a lot of bs and negative thoughts but I’m learning how strong I really am at my most inner core! So to sum up this way to long post... keep fighting and pushing through with all you have and if you feel hopeless try reaching out to the person or people you feel truly care and be completely honest and open with them and more than likely you will be surprised at how much they care and are willing to help! I have been very lucky that my mom has helped me so much and sacrificed so much for me that I owe it to her to keep fighting and never give up! I know the world is filled with a lot of ugliness and pain but please do your best to think as much positive and uplifting thoughts and know it will get better in time if you truly fight! This message has actually helped my mindset just by getting some of this off my mind! I hope everyone suffering can find some peace and happiness before we leave the world and I will do my best to help others and try my best to understand their struggle and put myself in their shoes so they can feel like they are not alone and I truly care for them! I keep rambling but Thank you KSE and especially Jesse you have truly helped me and kept me fighting for life ! Can’t wait for new Times of Grace album! Absolutely loved the first one!!! Peace everyone and you are loved and special!

Sometimes songs are cut(or scene from movies) for time restraints(or having to make the album or movie 2 discs)but not because they we're good enough? Cuz I agree, these tracks are awesome, I mean just starting with the great beyond...this should have been the opening track! I love this and killswitch 😎👍🤯🤘🔥
Think about this..."Loyalty" and "This Fire Burns" are B side tracks. Some of their best are B sides IMO.

If you have a cd burner, you purchase this new album, and then burn a new disc and add all your tracks into your own personalized order. I'm really disappointed that Cd's are going obsolete. Glad that most artist will still produce Cd's and vinyls for online purchase though!! Which comes to the next question, will KSE make a physical CD copy of this album for purchase?? I would love to get a physical copy!

i love times of grace! it's been a while since i've heard them, i remember at one of their shows jesse held my hand while screaming his lyrics it was so powerful as he gazed into my soul haha it was the best experience ever since KSE is my favorite metal band that got me started listening to metal and playing guitar \m/

Alive or just breathing combined with Disarm the Descent, this Bside is fantastic, reminds of the old, raw KSE. In some ways, maybe it's as good as or better than the actual LP

I agree with you. I loved Atonement. But it was definitely killswitch to a staple. This ep. Although fantastic, is killswitch with a twist of something different.. much better imo. But not what you'd expect on a standard album

These songs are all amazing. Killswitch is one of those bands that constantly write bangers. Cant wait to see you guys in a show again. Hopeful thinking here, but I would live a complilation album of all the songs that didnt make records from all of the releases. Something like that would be absolutely amazing, something similar to what Maiden did with their box set many years ago.
I think I'll still be listening to Killswitch when I'm an old geezer, hopefully I get that far.
