To those experts still claiming hacks as to how I clone items on Yellow. You use the exact same method as in this video, however you use a Special of 182-184 to encounter Missingno in Yellow. These ones clone your items just like in Red/Blue. Here's a video done on the 3DS to confirm it works on the virtual console. ua-cam.com/video/Yl79qBjCaVk/v-deo.html .
I think there was a girl with a pikachu and a clefairy/clefable her last pokemon (the clefable/clefairy) was the one that in the glitch gave me a missigno but i dont remember if it was on red/blue or yellow
probably in red/blue. The problem in yellow is, that most missingno freeze the game due to an invalid sprite pointer. The only exceptions are the 3 special missingnos (ghost and the 2 fossils) as they have actual sprites. They however need pretty a pretty high special stat and I don't think there is any trainer that gives you that stat. So you have to use the ditto strategy for that. And it takes soooo much time compared to red/blue.... but it is possible at least xD
Thank you so much for posting this video! I thought I knew everything about this game but I never knew there was originally a true Oak fight in the Pokemon game file! I saw a video about the fight with him on Cinnibar where he is even harder, 6 pokemon at level 111 including missingno and a even stronger glitched pokemon that had red sprites and each move used on it was turned red. I wanted to do further research and upon finding this video i was amazed! I always knew of the old man and Cinnibar cheat to get items and fight just about any pokemon, but I never knew how many other glitches existed in the game. I assume that originally Oak would have kept the 3rd and unselected starter pokemon and been a final boss after you beat Gary, but they kept it out of the final version but still in the code, just like mew. Pretty cool stuff to learn all these years later.
+SmokerFace12 Probably some computer geeks interested in programming and how data is organized/stored. Taking apart a game like this a great way to learn program design systems, apparently.
It was actually easy once people got a look at the way things were stored, this bug is basically just manipulation of the games storage functions. Because of the small amount of memory they could use they stored a lot of information in the same places. I’m not 100% sure but I know when flying away from the trainer the game shifts to a 3 steps to follow code. The walk to the trainer, the dialogue and the battle. When he flew away from the trainer the three steps of code were activated, but because they didn’t battle he essentially was walking around with those steps still waiting. Through some steps of his own (again I don’t know how this exactly works) he managed to check off 2 out of the three steps but left the third (dialogue step the NPC is meant to follow) unchecked. So the moment he re-enters the route you’ll see the menu open. That’s not him that’s the game opening up what it thinks is “dialogue”. The moment he closes the menu it continues the battle he flew away from, and because he manipulated the numbers he can encounter anything he wants. My brain hurts.
And the response of the greatest Pokemon trainer in the Pokemon universe after suffering defeat at the hands of the boy that had recieved his very Pokemon from said great Pokemon trainer? "My Pokemon couldn't....."
pokemon yellow my favouriter out of all i guess. the only one where u could have all starters right from the beginning.. simple loved that. u got to feel yourself like ash who also had all of them, i never liked to decide 1 of the 3 starters in the following games :(
He mightve been originally intended to be the Champion instead of your rival, but honestly, I get why this wasnt in the games. His team is nearly identical to Blue'a and was clearly scrapped before it was fully fleshed out (as it has 5 Pokemon and always has one that overlaps with his starter's primary type), but more than that, battling him would be completely redundant, as besides Tauros, the only other strong Pokemon in the game that werent featured by an important trainer are Snorlax and Ninetails, but you had 2 easy opportunities to catch Snorlax's and both Tauros and Snorlax are normal types. Besides that, there's Fearow and Dodrio, I guess, but theyre also normal types. Other somewhat Pokemon that werent featured by a prominent trainer, like Electabuzz and Poliwrath, just arent strong enough to be on a final boss' team, and Ninetails and Tauros alone arent enough, and also just dont feel final boss-worthy.
And after the long grueling fight with the most skilled trainer yet, Yellow relaxes as he listens to Oak and his parting words which engraved into Yellow's mind permanently, "My Pokemon couldn't!"
This is so great. I alwys thought it had to be gamesharked. And ive been playing all my gen one games in anticipation for XY. Ill do this soon. THANKS for the awesome vid!
I love reading the comments to this video, mostly a bunch of 10 year olds who think they know the game off by heart because they played it once a couple of weeks ago
This is a combination of the long range trainer glitch and the ditto glitch, the ditto glitch changes what you run in to depending on the special stat of the pokemon it transforms in to (hence why he showed that dragonite had a special stat of 226). While I think you can get mew this way there is a far easier way I believe that just utilises the long range trainer glitch. I may be wrong on some of this so if you know please let me know as well. :D
FlaggedStar i dont think oak is using any proper ai, considering he let exeggutor use barrage instead of something like sleep powder. pretty sure since he isnt finished, he is using standard ai
In Pokemon Yellow and other current gen games Charizard can learn Fly but believe it or not before Pokemon Yellow Version Charizard and Dragonite were not even compatible to learn HMO2 Fly at all I know weird and some other Pokemon were allowed to learn other TM and HM Moves later on in later games as well too. Including egg moves and Move Tutor moves as later gen games came and go so things have changed a lot lately just to say if you want to know? Bye.
Also, you can preform this with the MN symbol being in one of the slots of your name that effects random encounters with the old man glitch, with Oak sometimes having a glitch pokemon or 2.
Don't worry about it, the saves would've gotten wiped years ago. The internal batteries were terrible, and when they die, there's nothing keeping your data. You could install a new one, but you wouldn't be able to bring back your save.
Kei Romenan ive had my pokemon red since 2000 i think, save still works fine? i've heard of this battery business before, but never experienced it myself.
Kei Romenan My yellow's data is still working. My crystal on the other hand died what feels like a decade ago (It was so long ago that I can't really remember how many years it was.). Sapphire... the same works fine, but the internal clock stopped.
I'm guessing that Professor Oak is probably the last Trainer you fight with him using the Starter that you didn't chose or your rival and his other 5 Pokemon. (if you choose Charmander, Professor Oak gets Bulbasaur due to of your rival choosing Squirtle. If chosen Squirtle Oak Gets Charmander due to rival picking Bulbasaur. If chosen Bulbasaur Professor Oak get's Squirtle due to you nor your rival chose it) This is just a guess so ye.
brandonchilders100 isshould still be programmed in the Rom after all yellow is a glorified version of red and blue but yeah this video is a cheat not a glitch you can get any Philemon through glitches but it's impossibly to fight oak with out a cheating device

@@yue619 it doesn’t make sense, he is still in the cartridge so he does take the space you’re referring to, only the path to “encounter” him has been removed, and that’s certainly not what takes space…
0:24 that was so funny Trainer was gonna battle me nope he flew away
And it takes soooo much time compared to red/blue.... but it is possible at least xD
actually he freeze only sometimes after 10 or 20 try the game will not freeze
When you're holding your phone in portrait mode, and your thumb keeps twitching towards to the 'A button'...
"PROF. OAK: My
POKÉMON couldn't!"
I wonder what they were walking about before the battle.
I wonder how anyone even found these glitches
+SmokerFace12 Probably some computer geeks interested in programming and how data is organized/stored. Taking apart a game like this a great way to learn program design systems, apparently.
They just found the X files I think
@@IDKGeorge123 Good explanation
And the response of the greatest Pokemon trainer in the Pokemon universe after suffering defeat at the hands of the boy that had recieved his very Pokemon from said great Pokemon trainer? "My Pokemon couldn't....."
Right. It was an unfinished/rushed game so what can ya do.
They're glitched lines taken from another trainer type. Specifically, the youngster says this. You weren't suppsed to be able to fight Oak.
Oak is not the greatest Pokemon trainer in the Pokemon universe, it's just a brilliant scientist who knows everything about them. Slightly different.
pvleworm Well when you battle the Elite 4 Agatha actually says Oak was the original leader of the Elite 4 so technically he was the greatest.
Is that really charizards back sprite? It scares me
pokemon yellow my favouriter out of all i guess. the only one where u could have all starters right from the beginning.. simple loved that. u got to feel yourself like ash who also had all of them, i never liked to decide 1 of the 3 starters in the following games :(
He mightve been originally intended to be the Champion instead of your rival, but honestly, I get why this wasnt in the games.
I preferred pokemon when the graphics were like this.
Prig Potato Me
That makes you cool
Prig Potato i actually prefer gen 3 graphics
We can't use sprites forever bro LOL. Well to be fair, I'm using sprites in the games I make, but that's different, since they're only indie games.
We all do.
i totally just stared when the guy saw him......HE JUST FLY AWAY
the happy pikachu at the end just earned you a new sub lol
And after the long grueling fight with the most skilled trainer yet, Yellow relaxes as he listens to Oak and his parting words which engraved into Yellow's mind permanently, "My Pokemon couldn't!"
+Tristin Hamilton i believe that is actually the line of another trainer, somewhere in viridian forest, dont quote me on this though
dat lavender town music it hurts
Nope didn't hurt
I'm going to kill myself.
Arrr! The feels
*wipes tears*
Ps. Awesome battle ! O_0 still wonder if that was a glitch !
6:27 when Exeggutor.. or.. really any pokemon uses a multi-hit move, I find it extremely irritating lol
This is so great. I alwys thought it had to be gamesharked. And ive been playing all my gen one games in anticipation for XY. Ill do this soon. THANKS for the awesome vid!
Dragonite looks terrifying NOT GOING TO LIE BUT he or she looks like it's going to be murdered
I love reading the comments to this video, mostly a bunch of 10 year olds who think they know the game off by heart because they played it once a couple of weeks ago
ikr
if you think Oak is one of those battles you wish you never triggered take a look at BURIEDALIVE!
AuronInsaneDarkness are you trying to imply you actually think that's real? -_-
Shadowr2d2kirby/AlphaShadow this was scrapped he triggered it thru glitch like BURIEDALIVE!
AuronInsaneDarkness I know the Prof. Oak fight is real. I was asking if you actually thought the stupid 'Buried Alive' rumour was real.
Wild Pokemon Trainer was denied a battle!
Richtig nice ^^ Hab den Glitch auf meinem Kanal auch vorgestellt, aber in Deutsch ^____^
Nice Video dude! 1 Generation was the best :P
That was awesome. Oaks collection of Pokémon was so appropriate.
a wild proffeser oak apeaered
Sam I guess A wild Grammar Nazi appeared! Grammar Nazi used Grammar Fix! Professor* Appeared* it's super effective!
Plague Bomber Sapphire Sam uses selfdestruct! Sapphire Sam fainted! Grammar Nazi fainted!
@@SpecterReaper a dumbass appeared. Plague Bomber used spelling but it failed
*T-Series wants to battle!*
(Ah shit, here we go again)
Didn't know that was possible, and I played the shit out of those games.
Well now if you ever revisit them you'll have something new to look forward too.
Okay, so now there's two ways to battle Oak. I learned the other method from Scykoh if you were wondering.
scykoh is the best
Throw a master ball to catch him! Prof. has the most clever stats.
Did they not give Oak better AI? I would've though he'd play like a Gym Leader and occasionally switch out his Pokemon.
FlaggedStar i dont think oak is using any proper ai, considering he let exeggutor use barrage instead of something like sleep powder. pretty sure since he isnt finished, he is using standard ai
Or healing at all..
Bye.
"My POKéMON couldn't!"
Also, you can preform this with the MN symbol being in one of the slots of your name that effects random encounters with the old man glitch, with Oak sometimes having a glitch pokemon or 2.
If I'm not mistaken, Charizard aquired the flying type in yellow, that's why he can learn Fly ONLY in yellow (and maybe in the 2nd gen cartridges)
woowoow, the amount of ppl not having played gen 1 pretending to have anyway! :D should have kept my yellow and gold :((( only have red left.
pika surf mini game and the flying game where awesome pokemon stadium made it possible
Don't worry about it, the saves would've gotten wiped years ago. The internal batteries were terrible, and when they die, there's nothing keeping your data. You could install a new one, but you wouldn't be able to bring back your save.
you can get an emulator
Kei Romenan
ive had my pokemon red since 2000 i think, save still works fine? i've heard of this battery business before, but never experienced it myself.
Kei Romenan My yellow's data is still working. My crystal on the other hand died what feels like a decade ago (It was so long ago that I can't really remember how many years it was.). Sapphire... the same works fine, but the internal clock stopped.
Damn that Pikachu was fucking shit up m8 👍🔥🔥🔥
I'm guessing that Professor Oak is probably the last Trainer you fight with him using the Starter that you didn't chose or your rival and his other 5 Pokemon. (if you choose Charmander, Professor Oak gets Bulbasaur due to of your rival choosing Squirtle. If chosen Squirtle Oak Gets Charmander due to rival picking Bulbasaur. If chosen Bulbasaur Professor Oak get's Squirtle due to you nor your rival chose it) This is just a guess so ye.
But this is yellow -_- you get Pikachu your argument is invalid.
1. I'm Not arguing 2. I Said this for Pokemon Red, Blue and Green, Game Freak may of added it to Yellow but took it out at the last second.
ChaoticChirs May have*
+A Magical Wizard Ty
brandonchilders100 isshould still be programmed in the Rom after all yellow is a glorified version of red and blue but yeah this video is a cheat not a glitch you can get any Philemon through glitches but it's impossibly to fight oak with out a cheating device
aaah the earcrushing sound effects and shaking screen that was a real hardcore pokebattle
these are the only videos I enjoy watching in 240p
STOP SAYING THIS IS FUCKING FAKE IT IS NOT AND NO GAMESHARK CODES WERE USED SO STOP SAYING IT IS FAKE I HAVE DONE THIS ON MY YELLOW CARTRIDGE WITHOUT GAMESHARK!
WTF that's not exeggutor, where's the long neck???
lmao
LOL
Just in case you weren't sure just how buggy the first four Pokemon games were...
four?
TheEndermanSlasher red blue green yellow
oh i thought you meant first four gens
My bro has pokemon emerald and he was meant to meet somebody in his house but he wasn't there.
Ralf Duli cool story no one gives a fuck
Prof. Oak was also planned to be rehashed into Fire Red and Leaf Green do to an unused battle sprite of Prof. Oak, but just like the originals, he was scrapped.
Love the fact that you can battle oak. I still have my yellow but sadly my gba has died so i cant continue saves anymore. Never actually finished the game either which makes me sad because I was a kid. Oh man the nostalgia :) Awesome glitch mate.
