Three years after the start of Prohibition, the battle for Chicago intensifies in an increasingly lucrative but unstable scenario for the gangs. The city has become too small, and the ambition of mobsters like Al Capone prevents them from settling for only a part of the pie. They want it all.
Bloody Business expands the Scarface 1920 universe by introducing mechanics and elements that multiply the game's narrtative power. It does so by increasing its flow, facilating the implementation of some actions, enhancing player's strategies, and turning each game into a memorable battle for the throne of Chicago. It's time to take action!

0:00:00 - Overview
0:10:06 - What I Think About The Additions
0:15:37 - Final Thoughts
5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Next expansion is a custom large table to fit all the required components/boards with expansions.
I glad they offer a smaller player board as an add-on. With the expansion this is a game that literally takes over.
Thanks for the coverage! I enjoy this game a lot.
Nice:)
Thanks for the video Alex!!
I backed this and am super excited but have two questions/concerns. 1. How modular do you think we could have this expansion? Jobs, raids, etc. can easily be incorporated but you can you ignore the candidates or the businesses or must you go all in one? I like when there are official rules/variants for including what you want. 2. You can only earn a bullet by playing one card it seems so you may have to slow down your card combos a lot to get those benefits. Seems to me like I wouldn't intentionally seek that out but may consider playing less if I'm waiting to draw something occasionally. Thoughts?
Thanks for the video!
Thank you for the input on all of this. I ended up just getting a reprint of original since i don't have the game. And i just added the smaller playmat on top of that. That's it. I don't think all this extra is needed. The smaller playmat will have the bloody business parts on it, but i think the module that changes the business values can easily be implemented with just the original game, and ill use that part of it. The other parts ill just cover with other game components and i think it'll look fine. Smaller playmat i think is a must as i don't want this to cover my whole table. Thanks.
First time backing it. I wish they made the expansion modular so you can just add what you want and increase the complexity or the management tasks at your own leisure.
Like how you are wearing the Godfather's ring throughout, although didn't notice until about halfway through. And then I couldn't stop noticing how much you talked with your hands. :)
The ring is part of the game. You earn it by hiring an associate, it gives you extra money every turn and has a few other possible mechanics for gameplay.
I passed the first time, but I think I will get this. Sound really fun, not sure if I need to get the new expansion or just get the base game first.
I'm sure just the base game will suffice for many, many hours
If the company behind those shirt will bee inclined to occasionally sponsor you'r channel wuld bee great.
Being also a reminder of were you get those awesome t-shirts!
Ty for this video!
Good video, and I understand your enthusiasm. But, please consider slowing down a bit as you provide so much info, sooo fast to some of us new folks - kinda overwhelming.
Helpfull to decide the 'need' factor, now I look forward another push pledge wise. Currently debating over Base + Gangs or 'Just take everything' due to price difference. 🤔
On the other hand there's always bit of completionist syndrom that can go either way, and Cyclades campaign on tge horizon. 🤷🏻♂️
I definitely think ill be going Cyclades over this. Love the base game but the idea that this introduces more things to do in an already bloated game (play time and things to do) is a real turn off.
The extorsion thing is really good. I would have just change one thing : when getting money from bullets for the districts you control take the money from the players and not from the bank !
It feels like there was a little Western Legends influence here.
Hmm been going back and forth on this. I think maybe just get the new gangs and pass on the rest.
All I want the expansion for is to correct the need for deluxe component storage. I would love corrected inserts. This game is good but this is the worst gametrayz storage I have in my collection.
Backing it because the base game's difficulty didn't quite meet my 4.0/5.0 difficulty minimum criterion
They added a consequences for going up the crime rate thou.
Are the vendors selling games today at origins or is it just setup
Today is just set up
Hi Alex! Thanks for this review, I do not want to make this game more difficult so I’m thinking about only getting the gangs, how well do you think they would work with the base game alone or are their abilities geared towards the new stuff in Bloody Business?
I was thinking the same thing. Add the new gangs and maybe the smaller playmat and business markers.
I dont think it will be more complicated to play. Just more things to consider. I'm not agree with the review. I think for people who likes to play area control game and agressive play, this extension is a MUST. If you are happy with just making money and just build your engine, i think Scarface 1920 is clearly enough.
I don't know, if this expansion works good in the solo-mode. Can somebody help me?
Works just fine!
This doesn’t sound great for a game that runs long already!… I wish they focused more on streamlining the gameplay and new bosses.
I don't disagree, I think this is a good expansion, but it's a good expansion that primarily caters to those who are playing it a lot
The big plus for me with this campaign is not necessarily the expansion bloody business but the new gangs and the possibility to play up to 6 players. I often can't play some of my games because it is usually 4-players games and my group is 5-6.
Given how long this game plays at 4, I can't imagine playing this at 6, personally.
Lol I think the exact opposite. I will take both gangs but what I was waiting for was the bloody business extension and the new mechanism it brings. My friends and I, like the game but feel it's just farming ressources, build your engine and make money. Area control, agressive play is really not the most rewarding way to play. It's a shame for a Thug game and brings disapoitment every time around the table. That's why I really want this extension. Just the angry Bosses, Hospital, Melvin Purvis (who by the way is making the crime rate really interesting and punishing)and street gangs will change the game forever. I have more than 10 games at 4 players on the original Scarface for those who'll be asking
@soheilmokni4498 I agree with you on the conflict front, but if they could've streamlined it I would've been all in. But adding just more options will only lengthen an already too long game
Wow the expansion sounds worthless an is nothing like what I thought it would be, I was hoping for actual conflict to occur on the board more often, an more consequences for going up the crime track too fast, along with some easier ways of hiring, but it sounds like they've just added more useless faff to an already massively long game, only thing that looks interesting is the 2 new gangs, what a disappointment
There will be a night deck which is the same 60 associate cards with different skills and mechanics maybe those will give us more conflict..
@@Gregthegreat88 how often outside of capone do you hire associates though mate, I only ever pick up 3 or 4, not exactly much of a deck builder this game I felt, an not much area control either, I love it, but it can fail in some areas for gang war, an I was hoping that would be addressed but I don't look like it
I believe the new Melvin Pervis and G-men add consequences for going up the crime track too fast?
@@TableTopWolf1984 i am concerned about the lack of deck building as well.Although day 1 they added some cards to improve it..
I’m not sure the devs know what works and doesn’t work with their game.
