Your welcome thanks for watching, glad they of some use . Good luck with your build . I took my time doing this one 14 months but the outcome is better if not rushed 👍
@@chrisetchells2803 yes most parts i was able to get ome but did have to wait sometimes weeks . Im in uk some from fowlers honda uk and some from everett honda usa 🇺🇸. Then other times waiting for them to come up on ebay 👍
👋😀 thats great to hear thank you for watching. Theres me thinking this vid wasn’t very good , i find it hard to explain what im doing sometime plus it was so cold that night in the workshop I could not feel my fingers . 😃
Hi I know I bought him (my husband) a JIS screwdrivers before, don’t know why he didn’t use them. I saw you have a video from Philippines. I’m from there and moved here in the UK.
Hi glad the video helped . The bottle is a very thin oil similar to 2stroke oil, my carb had not been used for many years and threads were so dry and corroded best to play safe rather than have small threads snap or cross thread . When it starts up that oil burns off 👍👍👍
First I bought just a cheap “ all balls kit” in uk eBay mostly for o rings and gaskets . But the air cut off valve and jet kit I had to get from 🇺🇸 USA . That was a lot more expensive after all import taxes etc but worth it . They were from firm called “ siriusconinc (91289) “ again on eBay . Hope this helps
Hi you mean the half moon hole in the choke flap ? People remove them as they can snap off and get sucked through . It was already missing on mine . No other mods made to the choke 😀
@@OldDirtBikes I'm having trouble putting mine back together, the arm attached to the piston came apart on me now I can't remember where the spring went and which way it went on. Things just don't go as planned, it's my first time doing this I can't afford a mechanic had one he's the one who built my bike but is no help now
@@WILLY52368 hi , will try to explain but not easy . I think you talking about the link arm . The base where it attached the the piston it has a angle on one side 📐 slope side towards air box the small spring at the top of this gose im between the 2 screws at the top of the angle part the most coiled part towards engine side . Then don’t forget to put the washer between the link arm and carb body then slide in the throttle drum shaft . There is a web site where there is step by step instructions ( www.xr650r.co.uk/service/carb/carb.shtml ) try this link i found it very helpful. 😀 let me know if you were able to find this page 👍👍👍
🖐 hi , think you mean the side stand spring ? Many bikes share basic parts so for a spring i would try a breakers yard just measure the length you need from the mounting point . Ebay also good but may take a while , i msg ebay breakers for parts even if they not listing them this has worked a few times . Best of luck thanks for watching 😃
@@savyourselffreedom2149 hi from wales thanks , bit slow at the mo as many hrs in work and so cold in my workshop. Hope to get some riding vids if I get 650 going .
Sure you get $800 I use and not return? Sometimes you gotta make that choice if you going put food on the table or throw away money. I pretty sure you cannot eat one pumper carb, by the way I should know I had one it's up there but it also eats a lot of gas too, so I gave it to my mech now have a 650R carb
Thanks for taking the time! Evertime i watch someone rebuild a carb i pickup a little more knowledge i never knew before.
Great video , just got a XR 650 R yesterday and I have to give her a good service and clean the carb. Thanks for sharing. Keep the good work !
Thanks for the videos. I’m just starting on doing up an XR650R and your videos are a great help.

Grand job, all they way around. This video was the one that got me watching all the rest. Kudos and Thank you!

I'm finally getting some work done on my 650R. I've made a few videos. Please feel free to chime in on some things I should or shouldn't be doing.
That red goo in the bowl is the shit they add to our gas. The good stuff evaporates, the good is left there.
Yep there was goo everywhere even the fuel tap looked like a red slug trying to come out 🥺 also vent pipe were blocked . Thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Investing in a set of JIS screwdrivers will prevent alot of damage.

Exactly. 99% of the screws in japanese bikes are JIS... Smashed up by philips head
Thanks for this video. What is the red bottle you were using? Is it threadlicker?
