Did you spot Eva's "Easter egg" tail? lol :)
🐈⬛
Yes, our 'catties' love us greatly, and they need to be involved in all our activities! 😸😸😸
Yes! 🐱
Oh yes, the Bernett is running smoothly as butter and compared to the Singer not as loud but maybe I am too used to my Singer and feel she has more power under the hood. I will love my Bernette B38 a bit more. :)
That white blouse is gorgeous! Awesome job.
Exactly what I thought, it's really lovely ❤️
That blouse is absolutely lovely!! So feminine and romantic; my very favorite upcycle yet❣️
Although it hurt my heart to see you cut up those super comfy looking pants, the blouse is amazing. You remind us to really think of all possibilities to re-create.
I didn't hold much hope for husband's shorts but again you did a creative save!
You and your videos are the reason why I found my way back to sewing. Finally I sew pieces for me and even if I make a mistake, I dont stop. I give myself time to think about a solution with another pattern or another fabric etc... Thanks so much for your videos and your pure personality! (sorry for my poor english)
Your English looks perfect to me!
Those side panels on the first blouse was genius!
Yes! Love the way they cinch the waistline.
The white cotton blouse is incredible! As a bonus; super flattering on you! The lining and repair of the shorts was the perfect solution. The repairs did not show at all
The blouse you created is incredible!! Amazing to watch someone with skill and creativity recycle clothing 👑
Love watching your ideas evolve into something special. I'll just keep watching & learning 😊
Ha, perfect timing for this video, thank you so much Alicia 🙏🏻! My son just gifted me a shirt that he can’t wear any more because it is worn at the collar. Even though he is an XL and I am an XS I quickly realized i will need extra fabric. I do not have an embroidery machine but I can crochet so that should work out. I love how your old pants turned into a gorgeous blouse. And I appreciate you showing us your failed attempts too, there is always something to be learned in the process. You’re a gem!
Hello hello :) how fun, I am pretty sure you will make some awesome and you are so right... There isn't as much fabric as we initially think, even with difference in sizes, but that's what makes the creative juices go to work :) oh, crochet would look so gorgeous! By the way, if you do have a sewing machine that does those pretty decorative stitches - then you can do the same thing I did. Basically I took 2 decorative stitches and then placed them together to create a wide embroidery pattern, and that's it. I have done in it before on my Singer, too :)
The white blouse you made from those pants is a keeper. It's beautiful and one of a kind. Sometimes handing the project to someone else (for their use) solves the problem. Years ago, my babysitter was trying to make herself a new pair of pull on pants. The fabric was a very nice, dark blue, polyester; and, she sewed it with a very small stitch (in a matching blue thread). She could not get the stitching out to alter the pants; so, she gave them to me. I could not see well enough to get the stitches out either; so, I gave them to my mother. Mother could see the stitches and took the pants apart. She re-cut and sewed them for herself. They became her favorite pair of pants (and she wore them out).
That white blouse is STUNNING! Congratulations!
Wonderful seeing all your ingenious creations, and hearing your thought processes. Thank you. And I have to say, what a lucky guy your husband is - he loves those shorts and you sure did show your love for him by hand stitching in a lining so you could continue to mend them. Fantastic idea. When they really are past the point of repair, do take a pattern and make him some more, because they suit him very well. You’ll have to look out for some patchwork style cotton fabric in the meantime 😂
Brilliant video. Blouse is fantastic.
I am glad maralfex was useful :)
Thanks again! It was, it does seen to be a little stretchier than Eloflex and I like that it is not as shiny as Eloflex!
Fantastic inspiration., I have a pair of deconstructed linen trouser’s waiting to become a top! Also I can’t help thinking that the cut off legs from your daughter’s leggings could make a lovely matching scrunchie!
You are amazing, Alisa! The white shirt absolutely beautiful! ❤
Первая переделка блузка просто прелесть получилась
большое спасибо! я тоже так думаю, очень романтично :)
Yay first comment and first like. Love this channel. Best to you and your family. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you so much and same to you! Thank you for being here and watching and sewing with me :)
Love the white blouse and the creative way you utilized all the unique details.
That white shirt is amazing, I love it !! You are so talented and creative !
Now that was Thoughtful Creativity! Blouse - a thing of beauty, Shorts - lined and re-worn when most people would call it a day at that point in their life, even the sneak peaks of your 'fail' were great as the pocket was so pretty - keep up the good work because so many poeple are inspired by you! 👏👏👏
Thank you! Very beautiful work!
Many thanks!
The lining idea for the pants was really interesting! I'll keep it in mind for future loved pieces that might fall apart
The first is so well done. Bravo 👏
Thank you so much! It took all my brain cells, lol :)
Really impressed with what you came up with for the white blouse. Due to the sheerness of the pant, I probably would have used it for a bag lining or given it to charity. Who would have thought such a gem of a cute blouse was hidden in there! Just goes to show you that hidden treasures are lurking everywhere.
Love this video, love this series! It’s inspiring, it is useful, it is wholesome! From the creative blouse, to the super practical shorts of your husband, to the ‘fail’. Thank you for putting this so thoughtfully together!
Just curious will you use the chopped part or the sparkle leggings for something? I imagine it would make a great accent on a plushy toy
you always do such great work. Thank you for mentioning that sometimes not all projects come out the way you want them to.
That was a great idea to embrodery on that blouse !👍😎🐕🦺🐈⬛
Awesome white shirt up cycle. Very creative.
That white blouse is absolutely beautiful!!!! Great job!!!!
How do you do it????
The white blouse is stunning!!!!!
You’re amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Rosaria! :)
You can try adding some tricot interfacing to the seams of the blue garment. But I think you’re right. A more fluid garment, less fitted would make more sense with such a delicate fabric. Perhaps another top with gathered sleeves for you or your little one? 😊 I love the white blouse!
You are so right, I don't even know what I was thinking when I just went with the zipper fly. I think I was in the zone of - "making another pair of pants from pants" so I did not question myself enough and did not think it through. I would have done a lapped zipper in the side seam, or even perhaps an invisible zipper, although not my favorite when it comes to pants particularly, but I did not have enough fabric so I can cut that extra seam allowance into the side seam. The fabric was too drapey and unstable for anything structured like a zipper fly and back pockets. It is some sort of drapey chambray, very similar to viscose or rayon in how it acts and flows. And you know how it is with these type of fabrics - cutting on grain is a challenge, not to mention anything else. As a result the extra weight of the zipper fly pulled the construction of the front crotch down and so did the back pockets. Just a droopy mess :) Yes, you are reading my mind - thinking of a flowy top. I just need to decide what features to make it with so that it goes well with clothes in my wardrobe
thank you for another very creative and helpful Video. I am going to get a new Sewing Mashine and it will be a Singer Sewing Mashine. Right now I have a Bernette B38 wich I like, but I never loved it all that much so I am always going back to my old Singer Confidence 7463. I am exited to see your new Sewing Mashine.
Petra, hello there! Oh, my new sewing machine is Bernette B38! :) He he, half of that blouse was made on it, and then I mended some of the holes in the shorts with the darning function it has. My old sewing machine, which is not going anyway, (no no 😁) is also singer confidence, but 7470 and it is about 10 years old. It is a solid machine, not too simple, not too fancy - just right. And I have been sewing on it pretty much every other day for the first 5 years and almost every day for the second 5 years. It still has a lot of juice in it, but I can feel and hear the wear, because I have made with it every possible thing under the sun :) where Bernette of course is smooth as a butter. B38 is basically the same as my Singer, just 10 years newer with all the new features like thread auto cut off and things like that. It is also not too fancy, not too simple and the buttonhole on it is well done - I couldn't believe my eyes. My singer's buttonholes are okay, they will do. But so far, I really love it! Eeek :) I only have brother/Singer machines, so this for me is a new adventure :)
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I still use the Bernette, but I do not know why I am not loving it as I should because it is a great machine. I am excited to see you using the Bernette. I might pick up some things that I am doing wrong.
That blouse you made is beautiful ❤
That blouse is just gorgeous ❤😍! Great job !
And haha I have that too that I just cannot NOT see a mistake or something that us not neat in my opinion 😂
Oh that shirt is so beautiful 10:07 ❤️
Morning. Your sewing and creative skills are amazing!!!!!!
I love all of your upcycles and how they represent tiny changes to very involved exercises in problem-solving. I'm thinking about how I might use the idea of a lining for pants to help my leggings last longer... I bicycle to work, and the backsides tend to wear out quickly 😁 I think that gorgeous white blouse is my second-favorite upcycles of yours. My all-time favorite is the navy blazer that you made by reusing a pleated skirt. Both were complex projects, but wow the results!!! Thanks, Alisa (and "supervisor")
Do you have a video on a step-by-step how to do a buttonhole because that is my greatest sewing fear 😅
The white blouse is so nice!! Looks very intentional and not at all like it would be an up cycle 👏👏
So beautiful, Girl!! I love the white blouse!!♡♡♡ You look so lovely in it! Awesome upcycle project!!♡
The white blouse is stunning! Gives me lots of ideas. Hubby’s shorts would have been a goner for me. I’d have harvested the zipper and let it go. Maybe save the last pant’s fabric for a pillow or something not clothing-like?
I really appreciate your creativeness… i love watching your videos… thank you for sharing your expertise…
Alicia, love the shirt, but I was hoping for a dress! The shirt is gorgeous, especially the embroidery, such an ingenious way to complete the puzzle. Thank You and God bless 💖✝
Cindy, hello there! Dress would have been fun, too, but there was no chance for a dress, there was barely enough fabric for a blouse :)
The white blouse is amazing. Quite a dramatic change from a pair of pants. I’m not sure if I’m understanding the problem correctly with the denim pants but maybe if you starched them and then sewed them would that help? Those are the cute Margot pants you made. I’m sure you will make something fab from them. Have a great weekend. 🥰
You did an amazing job on the white blouse! I loved how you used the shirring from the back of the pants in creating a blouse! Gorgeous!!!
Wow! I had been wondering where you were from for a while (I joined only a few months ago so I could have missed a previous mention). I have lived in Lithuania for 5 years now and have been to Riga a few times, beautiful city to walk around in 😊
I have a Barina 570 love my sewing machine. It does everything, you could cut out your bias tape, stick on your feet on your machine put the bias tape through the feet and you're ready to go, super easy.😊
Love the first upcycles. The last 'fail', perhaps make a few panels (A-line) and construct a skirt for your daughter?
That first shirt! Drop. Dead. STUNNING!!! By far, my most favorite make I've seen you do.
Aww, thank you! :) I love it too, lots of work went into it and it was worth it
Thanks for sharing your up cycles, they all turned out well. It's all about being creative when it comes to up cycling clothing that are no longer wearable. I have a bag of clothing to be up cycled and am gradually going thru mine when I have the time to do it.
Any fails i have i usually just end up cutting fabric into squares and put in my patchwork pile! Then i dont waste more time trying to save it..
What a beautiful blouse! That is surely one of your most creative upcycles. Your vision is amazing.
Oh wow Alisa, gorgeous. It's funny though, as you ere showing the pants in the beginning, my thought was to make the legs into sleeves. There may be hope for me yet 😅😊
You look like a doll you’re pretty and I like the way you try your sewing things for yourself. Great job, Nellie.
Omg you r so talented!!!. The white blouse looks ready made. N boy can you pose/model your garments lol
You make the most amazing up cycles yet they are all easy and practical and I don’t mind watching the same videos over and over again. Thank you
Wow, thank you!
I'm so impressed with the white blouse! I love the back especially and also the shirring on the side is genius!
I was just about to ask after all this time what your accent is. I love it. Now I know you’re Latvian!
Lucky husband❤, those fave shorts you repaired are a lovely thing to do xx
Can you show us how you wind your bobbin with the eliflex thread? I can’t find this anywhere!
sometimes I also make mistakes. I love it when you point out yours. It worked out beautiful.
Hmmm, maybe you could use the pant fabric for bias tape to finish Hong Kong seams in a coat?
I love that up cycled shirt from those pants, its really amazing.
Salut! Te urmăresc cu mare drag...și îmi sunt foarte utile videourile tale, din păcate nu ma descurc foarte bine cu engleza și mi-a plăcea enorm de mult dacă ai avea subtitrare in limba romana!
Mult succes în continuare!
Amazing, wear you hair up with this one when you wear it. To show the stitching on the back.
My hubby has a favorite pair of shorts that are more mended than original too. Good idea for these ones!
Love the pants to blouse upcycle, it’s gorgeous.❤️
I like the embroidery idea. I may have to try it on a top from a pattern I have made oodles of times.
Thank you so much for sharing everything with us!!!
Oh Wow that blouse is beautifull - i love the upcycles, i'm into them too
Oh wow 😲😲😲😲😲
The blouse is awesome. And even accessories that I don't wear, like skirts or ruffle tops, you can always learn something from you. I like your infinite creativity. Please never stop. You bring me joy and knowledge 🙂✌🏼👋🏼
I'm 78 and don't like a lot of the modern "stylish" patterns and clothes. You have inspired me with the way you have upcycled clothes. I have a sewing machine with some simple embroidery stitches. I'm going to incorporate them into some of my own upcycling. Thank you for sharing all your ideas. I love all the things you have made by mixing and matching. Your little girl's clothes are so precious. God bless you for all your help. 😊❤❤
You’re so talented!
Thank you for a kind comment! I hope you enjoyed the video
Wow, your white blouse is absolutely beautiful! An amazing upcycle! I imagine your daughter will really like the sparkly waistband to her shorts! You are such a sweetheart to again repair your husband's shorts. As a wife who repairs her husband's pants, coveralls, and shorts, I am so impressed with the effort that you put into this project!
I've be sewing and stitching for many years and during the pandemic which gave some of us spare time I began on a journey of altering and upcycling lots of my clothes. This is a hobby which doesn't seem to go away. Today listening to you speak with enthusiasm along with your knowledge....well thankyou...I'm ironing the laundry at the moment so not so much watching but listening....you are certainly one of the best....again..thankyou!!!!
Thank you for speaking about fails. I have 2 recent fails, which I also, have folded up and put aside. Thank you because, I see I am not the only one who has sewing fails. I try to re-use everything I can. Seeing you reusing old sewing for something new, gave me such a huge smile and just lifted my spirit. ❤🎉
Sue, hello there! I am so glad it spoke to you - I feel that we often try to put forward only the best, and understandably so, and in the process forget that we can learn a lot from mistakes and fails. By the way, many months later I finally did make those failed pants into a gorgeous blouse - take a look over here - ua-cam.com/video/pXIl5uJzgFI/v-deo.html
You have used ELOFLEX thread for your stretch items. Do you change any of your tensions? I purchased this and tried to use but my upper thread kept breaking. What are your tips and techniques for using this specialty thread?
Angelique, go to my "4 different knit necklines tutorial", I mention a few tips there for eloflex thread.
What do you mean that on the last failed project that the "fabric didn't want nothing to do with it" when you tried to turn it into a different pair of pants? What was the fabric doing? I don't think I know enough about fabric yet to understand. Plus I have autism so... Was the fabric "unweaving" itself or something??
The fabric was too drapey and unstable for anything structured like a zipper fly and back pockets. It is some sort of drapey chambray, very similar to viscose or rayon in how it acts and flows. I would never (maybe only in some exceptional circumstance) do a zipper fly in flowy viscose, but here for some reason I just went with it. As a result the extra weight of the zipper fly pulled the construction of the front crotch down and so did the back pockets. I hope this help you understand :)
Beautiful white blouse. Amazing results.
Very creative & great that you show how you overcome various issues 😊
Really like this series. I am waiting for you to upcyle non stretch linen pants. I have some that I wore once, they sag after about 30 minutes of wear so I don't wear them. would like to do something with the fabric
Hello there and thank you so much for watching :) I would try washing the linen pants and see if that helps. I made myself a wide leg linen pant (there is a video for it on my channel) and the linen does like to get looser after a few wears, but after wash it goes back. I don't have linen pants to upcycle, but you can use the idea of the first blouse, the cotton on the pants has no stretch. Also... you can use ANY of the top/blouse tutorials I have on my channel (more than 20) and turn your pants into a gorgeous top.
Amazing, so smart!!! Not only the ideas are very interesting all along, especially with the white blouse, but to draft and execute those elements so correctly so to form a proper garment, it is amazing.
wow, a great blouse. can't wait to see your embroideries.
Can you please show us your sewing room to take ideas please 😢
That white peasant blouse you ended up with is beautiful! And you are a good person to resuscitated your husband’s shorts!!!
Beautiful work thanks
Thank you!
Your voice is so unique you could voice an animated character
The white shirt is stunning, you look beautiful in it xx
Tolle Weiße Bluse und die Ärmel sind der Hammer 😻
Danke!
WOW great job simply beautiful.
You are too clever! I just love watching you!
Love the top you wearing ❤
Thank you, I also have a video for it :) it was made entirely from fabric scraps :)
Pls, too much talk! The details u discuss r too much! I don’t care what shelf u found them. Thank you.
Then.... Don't watch my videos. I am sorry, but this is how I show the significance of the garments I have, why I kept them, what I like about them, sharing the journey and the upcycles. I am not keeping you here against your will, you can always mute the video and watch without sound if me talking bothers you. Have a great day!
So cute! Just lovely, and very creative.
You are from Latvia? wow. I live in Lithuania :)
Yes! :) Sveiki! When we lived back in LV we used to travel to Šiauliai very often :)
Is it a coincidence or can you see my location? I live in Šiauliai :) And I want to thank you for your creativity.
@@IngaZib no no, pure coincidence :) we went to Vilnius often, too. Thank You for watching and thank you for sewing with me.
Hi Alisa I love upcycling too beautiful
I’m just amazed at your creative ability
The blouse is stunning and so creative. Thanks for sharing a fail😂.
