Great video. I just sold all my old gear and upgraded to new gear. Reels are all Seviin baitcasters and spinning reels. Rods are Alx rods. Two crappie rods are Cajun rods..
Thank you so very much for your kind words, both for the rotten real arsenal and from my health and that of my family. I hope you are fully recovered from your illness as well. That cough is ridiculous. It’s taken three weeks for that cough to subside after the illnesses. Long gone. Lastly, while I most certainly appreciate your comments regarding this rotten Real Arsenal, I am bracing myself for your “constructive criticism” regarding, my high end, Rod and Reel Arsenal. 😂🤣. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Hello Malik New sub here. Thanks for your easy to watch video's I enjoy using the high end equipment as well. Here is a rod company you should look into. It is called Old 18, and is located in Texas. The company is veteran owned, and their high end rods are amazing. I own 6 of their rods, and swear by them. Keep up the good work my friend.
I’ll be looking into some metal rods when they go on sale locally. But, I do intend on picking up and intenza and pair it with a nasci for my dropshot stuff. I’ll keep my omen around for other things. My omen was my workhorse for walleye late into 2023. It’s such a nice rod. Underrated in my opinion.
Take your time. Just a note to remember, bait cast fisherman are trying to move closer to the spinning gear than we are to baitcast gear. The Bates that they are using for forward facing sonar as well as this so-called bait finesse system are all methods and tactics of trying to get as close to spinning gear as possible without actually having one in their hands. So just take your time lol.😂👏🏿👏🏿🎣
Wow you have a serious collection 😳 of fishing rod and reel. I have a few but nothing like you. I want one good one for fishing for walleye using lures or maybe two.
Take your time and target the combo that you want. Convince any person who wants to give you a gift for your birthday or any other special day in your life as a gift card to help you purchase that new combo you want.👏🏿👏🏿🎣
St Croix rod are pound for pound the most versatile rods I’ve used. The only thing I’ve found is they’re pretty tip heavy, but I use rubber furniture leg caps stuffed with quarters to balance them
Oh, yes, St. Croix rods are magnificent. I don’t have the same experience with the Bass X rods being tip heavy but my legend extreme tends to feel that way without a reel on it. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
@@familybudgetfisherman now that you say that, their spinning rods are usually pretty balanced. I use mostly baitcasters and find those specifically to be tip-heavy
Awesome video I've been watching your channel for a while now and if i may suggest a future combo a fisherman and tackle junkie of your caliber would appreciate. the new shimano expride B in 7'6" medium light + paired with the c3000mhg twin power fd... now that the fe came out the fd should be on sale
Thank you very much for watching the video and for your support of the channel. I will definitely consider making that purchase. I have put the twin power on my radar for discounts. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
I would like to know your thoughts on your Phoenix heavy rod.I would like to purchase a heavy spinning rod so any insight would be appreciated. Great video thank you
You are welcome. In terms of retrieving and bringing in a fish, this heavy Phoenix feather is amazing. The concern is that the tip is so whippy and soft that when I threw baits over one ounce I was very cautious. I actually had a chance to speak to the company about my concern, at a recent international sportsman expo here in Northern California this past weekend, and they mentioned that this rod is designed to moderately cast heavy Bates up to one and three-quarter ounces. It is not intended to snap cast heavy baits for fear of breakage. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
To you they maybe "high end" of your budget but to the rest of the fishing world everything you showed is still budget gear. No where near high end gear lol, high end rods start at about 400$ and go well over 1000$. Reels start at 350ish in spinning and 450ish in baitcasting and go well over 1000$. Youre fishing whats consudered "budget", best bang for the buck low end mid grade gear to high end low grade gear. But i always say fish what you can afford and if you can save up to get that kind of bang for your buck gear. There truly is no need for hugh end gear unless someone just wants it. Theres plenty of quality abd preformance in that lower mid level gear and sone in high end cheap budget gear. Id say with baitcasters look for aluminum framed reels in the 100 to 150$ range, spinning starts at about 50$ up to 100ish$, rods are in the 80 to 150$ range with the exception of a couple maybe three but some can be found on sales much cheaper.
Your comment sounds to me like you knew to the channel. Have you seen my 2023 high-end rod and reel arsenal? Also, my high end rod and reel for 2024 will be out later this week. I definitely agree that this “above budget“ arsenal is considered budget for some. However, I hope that this channel can reach every “family budget” and give everyone an opportunity to see the kind of quality they can purchase without breaking their family budget. Stay tuned. 👏🏿👏🏿🎣
@@familybudgetfishermanit's not considered "Budget" to some it's considered "budget gear" to all in the industry. The less than that is considered low end and even junk by the industry and anyone with any "real" fishing experience and gear knowledge. Your mid level and high end gear is locked behind glass and or has its own special rack at the big stores (like bass pro, sheets, cabalas ect.). You won't find high end gear on display to be handled very often, you won't find it in a clam shell either hanging in walmart and other various stores lol. What I'm saying is your thoughts on things isn't what the industry labels things. There's nothing wrong with fishing with what you or anyone can afford. Getting out with the best you can afford and just enjoying the outdoors is what matters. I fish "budget gear" I have 500$ easy combos 😂. Of course I can't necessarily afford that kind of prices but I find sales to buy my gear, may buy some used or save up buy one piece at a time to build them but they are still just quality "budget" gear in the eyes of the fishing industry. None is considered "above budget" or "high end". Just so you know even a half blind guy on ssi can get the "budget" gear so that tells you it's exactly that "budget gear". Saving up, finding sales and being a smart shopper goes a long way. I've tested and own over 60 combos, 50 of which have been bought or built in the last 3 to 4 years. So yes all is "budget" gear. I could have built a nice high end setup by saving up and not doing tests/reviews of gear. You want to see high end go look at st croix rods higher priced rods that's above budget high end gear lol
Again, you sound like a person who is new to the channel. There is no industry standard on what is budget or what is high end. this is because there is some equipment that is overpriced, and should be labeled as “Budget“ or even junk. There’s also some equipment that is sold as Budget but the quality of the product should be mid range or even high-end. Consequently This channel does not exist to comport with what the “industry“ says is budget, high gear, or anything between. I have rods that are more expensive than the St. Croix legend extreme (which is one of the many high-end rods that I do own). What I’m hoping for is that I can explain this gear in a way that people understand what they’re buying and are able to buy the best fishing equipment they plan to purchase. Having a conversation with you about industry semantics doesn’t achieve the goal of this channel. I have combinations that are so expensive that a $500 combo is considered a mid range for me. Again take a look at some of the videos on my channel. Leslie, sometime next week I will be posting my high end rod and real arsenal for 2024. I hope you enjoy it.👏🏿👏🏿🎣
@@familybudgetfisherman again!!! How ignorant can someone truly be. The industry has a standard set by the customer base. This is a standard that's been set since industries started including the fishing industry. The reason tgw 100 to 200$ lower end "budget" gear is what it I'd today Is because the industry realized that's where most and I do mean most fisherman will spend up to when getting gear.
