Plane stewardess: “Sir you can’t bring drinks from home” “Oh, I didn’t bring these from home. They were made in a factory. A bomb factory. They’re bombs”
@kaithedoge5861 I mean technically the end result isn't water. Does it have to be a joke to make sense? Oxyhdrogen is not water its proportional water but not bonded so not water. For me the title was well made as click bait. I was interested on seeing the 3d print not how the water was "turned". My question is taking this literally or as a joke, how does it matter? Tell me why it would be dumb if it was literal.
@@kaithedoge5861 i mean, he's right, it has no water its like saying cocacola with icecubes its cocacola with water Its not water, its ice, although its the same thing its still different
1:33 for those confused, the point of this setup is to stop flashbacks from happening. Basically, the ignited gas could travel along the tube, and back to the generator (a flashback). This would most likely cause an explosion, as there is a stockpile of flammable gas in the generator. However, if you ignite the stream of gas from the tube that comes from the jar, the flame would travel back through the tube and be blocked by the water, stopping it from reaching the generator. If you increased HHO gas production, it might be wise to create more than one of these failsafes, since a larger stream of gas could create a path through the water for the flame to flashback through.
A fine steel mesh should be sufficient to do the same. (Industrial ones are fittet with multiple layers of mesh) We tested this in chemistry class in school, the flame of a burner would only go to the mesh but the gas above the mesh was still flammable and could be re-ignited.
Very fun concept. Be careful with your ears. Stoicheometric hydrogen and oxygen explosions can make damaging soundwaves. Hydrogen is also very small and will diffuse through even solid metal.
@@PugnaciousProductions I mean, there's a reason grenades are illegal for civilians. Also the grenade in the video wouldn't kill someone, it would burn them and disorient them kinda like a flashbang
Your ability to think outside the box always impresses me. This is a very good way of showing the impressive power behind hydroxy gas. If you looking for a generator design with a higher gas output try and make one out of stainless steel condiment cups. I have been able to make my best designs this way and the bonus is the form factor can be very small. I look forward to potentially some more hydroxy content in the future!
Very impressive, and a great example of what's capable with 3d printers if you're already an engineer. Only suggestion I'd have is perhaps fins for this, so it always lands percussion-cap down. Something like the Ketchum Grenade.
literally was checking out your channel again today and you just uploaded! I loved the tank rounds, you inspired me to try and make my own little cannon lol
Nice idea. I always thought about a HHO-generator filling a big baloon with HHO gas until the baloon is big enough to touch the flame of a candle (or something similar).
It’s fascinating to me watching people just do stuff like this. Like they get it in their head, and then they just find a way to do it. I’ve learned a lot of stuff over the years, but had you asked me to use water and make a lil impact Grenade I’d have told you to piss off.
Your build and thinking are very on point, my respect. However take in consideration that hydrogen has an ability to leak through tiniest of gaps and even though solid materials if they have sponge structure and their grid is bigger then hydrogen atoms (and they are really small). So yeah, I expect your nade will loose most of it's fuel if left alone for about an hour. So considering it's nerf like power, I'd rather do something powered by spring, will be much more reliable and easier to reload. But as a demonstration setup for using hydrogen it's pretty cool
Very impressive but the entire video I kept thinking “aren’t water balloons already a kind of impact grenade?” They don’t burn, but they do explode on impact.
wow this ja really cool next you should make one that has a separate charge which jumps it into the air after it lands, with some kind of of mechanism that can trigger it mid-air for better shrapnel distribution
1:00 yeah don't play with that. Happened to me by accident and the whole thing exploded. I was lucky that the pickle jar I used as a container didn't shatter (still wondering how it held up against that pressure as the lid exploded off it) And I somehow also survived it without acid like burns (yes yes I know a sodium hydroxide solution is a base not an acid)
Important to note that you can't store hydrogen gas for long periods of time in pretty much anything, because it can and will escape. It's VERY loud and you should not try to lit the hose that's going into generator like shown in the video, because it can end up in a rather violent explosion (even with water "filter" we see in the video, it's still not advised). If you want to learn more about gas shown in the video, check out Alex Burkan - he has done research on it for years (over a decade at this point) and it's all well documented. Also, he has some guides on how to make those generators SAFELY. What you see here is a very basic generator.
i wonder if water and like potassium could generate enough pressure to burst an actual metal shell and throw shrapnel (would be super unsafe for storage)
