Hey, if you can tell the forged in fire guys if in some episode wants in the final round to forge chaos blades
Mk
Cold spots while tempering caused warp and crystal formed
What do they do with the pig carcasses after slicing at them with swords?
Forged in fire rules:
1- heavy blade is an imminent loss
2- unless other sword breaks 🤷🏽♂️
to be fair, that's essentially the whole point of the show lol
It all about the blacksmith skill though, you have to creat a stronger steel to made your blade as light as possible but still don't break, and the thinner blade still had more advantage in the sharpness because it can develop a better profile while grinding.
@@Mr15905 exactly, so you can play it safe with a heavy blade or risk breaking your sword. Kinda like racing... who can push the limits the furthest
It's a one handed sword so it shouldn't be heavy.
@@Mr15905 I think he should put the sword in hot oil and let it cool in air after quench in oil. This will reduce some excess hardness and add some extra strength to his blade. Learn this in other UA-cam channel 😂
Just made a pizza. Now this appears in my feed. Gonna be the best 10 minutes of my life.
Enjoy your pizza bro
Nice brother!
now im craving for pizza
Your pizza, it will _feed_.
I agree, son
"Thats not how I wanted to win, but it is what it is" honestly, mad respect to that guy.
every time a sword breaks my heart breaks with it.
Same!
it's always heat treatment gone wrong.
How many hearts you have?
Yes,that kinda hurts indeed.
Every time a sword breaks my heart.
I wanna see a judge's episode where the judges compete against eachother
they're not blacksmiths though, they're "weapon specialists"
@@CrazyDutchguys everyone except wil willis and doug marcaida is blacksmith. So, as riley points out, dave vs ben abbott vs jay nielson vs jason knight would be really cool
@@CrazyDutchguys Ben Abbott is a season 2 winner.
Mussa Kaleem and a champion of champions winner
But who will judge!!!
This is one of the rare times that no smith said:
I wiLl Go DaMasCUs
Sword was too long. These guys were knife makers and I personally think Damascus is overrated.
@@cybern9ne yes modern steel should outperform damast
@@RevoltingRudi Nope it can't they already tested it damascus is the best steel especially for katana's
@@drakex241 source?
@@RevoltingRudi I would believe that if real damasuc swords were forged as it was before, but Damascus forgery is fake and only replica as genuine swords made from Damascus stell was way advanced for its time, its strong yet flexible
Robber: enters doug's house
Doug, holding a knife: so you gonna steeeel?
You wanna sttteeaaalll you get the keeell!!
Robbers, welcome to the Keal test. I am about to deliver slashes and thrusts on you to find out how deadly the katana is.
Let’s see if this knife will keel
4:44 he should have cut the cake with the sword...
It will keel...
The cake
@@crazyroses1235 that sounded so nice in my head lol
@@EzkraGG doug is bae 🏳️🌈⃠
Just like Joffrey from Game Of Thrones
I had the same thoughts bro 😂
I don't think it was the heat treatment, but the quenching. I say that while drinking a Gatorade quenching my thirst from the comfort of my keyboard.
I agree, I think it would have held up if he had thermal cycled at least 2 times before quenching it.
Isnt quenching part of heat treating though?
@@CrankyPants05 no, heat treating is when u quickly heat the metal up to temp, quenching is quickly bringing down the temp. Both are part of hardening. We also have tempering wc is a diff step
@@Hustlelyf I'm like 100% sure that both quenching and tempering are part of the heat treating process
@@CrankyPants05
You are correct.
Quenching and tempering is heat treatment. So is normalization, soaking and annealing.
The vibe of the competitors of this show is always so wholesome and humble. why can't all reality TV be like that?
Because this show has respect for the audience, the competitors, and judges. Everything is earned and it's a one in a million show
3:27 you can definitely tell that blade will break in the strength test, the tip of the blade wasn’t heated
I saw the same thing. Also he pulled it out way to early!
I saw that too thought I was the only one
I was looking for this comment, I definitely agree
Spotted that. He also pulled it far too soon..
Metals have free electrons that tranfer heat all the way up quickly .
What I like about this, is that this judges are always HONEST. It's not surprising to see who wins, best judges
I was just wondering if you still liked that the judges were always honest?
When I die I want my body to be the target in the keel test, only if it's Doug tho
Wtf
Lol legendary
but I'll not kill if you're already dead tho
@@TheTanadu when did they ever use anything alive in the kill test? never, so no difference
@@fkzy. bruh imagine them just getting a live pig and execute a decapitation that would
BE SICK but kinda animal cruelty
Just once I wanna see an episode where they completely throw out the format for the last round. "Now, normally we'd be having you recreate a historic weapon, but today, you're going to have to make... *unnecessarily dramatic music* a life-size statue of Doug, cast entirely in bronze."
Cassitastrophe So you want Doug do the Kill Test on his own statue 🤣
" It will KEEL Me !!!! " 😂😂
3:41 when you open the oven to look the pizza
This is a rollercoster of an episode lmao.
Doug cuts himself harsly "It will heeel"
“So I think I got a blade that will hold up to it” blade snaps 2 seconds later
It is the most gentle show i have seen in my hole life
The judges and the participants are very gentle
They save that heat for the forge
@@BREAKocean lol
My son was playing with a toy T-Rex attacking figurines. After a few attacks I told him "Son, your T-Rex is very light and fast but not very well balanced with more weight towards the bottom. There are no laceration or cuts whatsoever. Your T-Rex would not kiyiill!!". Sucks to be a dad sometimes but you have to tell it like it is...
I want to type something but I’m facepalming too hard
This man literally had an explosion happen in his face and his only reaction was “uh oh” lol 😂 this show is too wholesome, I love it
Gets lit on fire:
“Quench went good”
"This is where things can go bad..."
*mount vesuvius erupts*
“I just must get my heat treat wroung (wrong) nobody’s fault but my aown (own)” maan I love that accent😅
"This is where something can go bad..."
...
*fireball explodes in face*
Knew his was going to break just by looking at the incomplete heat treat on the front end of the blade.
No Damascus? It's a MiraKeaaal!
I own one of these! It's a legitimate one from Morocco dated to be ~150 years old!
Netflix: “are you still watching.”
Someone’s daughter: 1:58
You see those warriors from Hammerfell? They've got curved swords. Curved. Swords.
Looking to protect yourself, or deal some damage?
I don't claim to be the best blacksmith in Whiterun. Eorlund Gray-Mane's got that honour. The man's steel is legendary
What you be baking? Steel? *Scratches chin?* You got any more of them baked steel?
It's windshear
Some may call this junk. Me, I call them treasures
Im just here to hear my daily dose " eet weel keeeel"
Knew that second dudes sword wasnt gonna survive the strength test after it fireballed and he pulled it out way too early
Yeah it confuses me when people get fireballs because that can only mean they pulled it out too soon which doesn’t make sense why they would. If you left it in the quench tank for a good 5 minutes then it would be good, maybe its the stress of the competition but rushing things confuses me because you can simply give it a good 5 minutes before pulling it out.
You don’t like pulling it out too early?
"The Stengthness test" 😂
Thought that sounded weird. I had a brainfart and had to look it up.
The comment section on these videos is the most wholesome and decent on all of UA-cam and I love it. Cheers to any late comers that get to read through.
I watched this episode on TV and when the older gent has his blade in the vice, you could see a crack clear as day. I don't see how could miss it. Pretty significant crack.
4:00 I was born on Monday. That guy was born on Day4.
He said it was his birthday that day. Not that he was born on Day 4...
He said “”It’s day 4 and also it’s my birthday”” You heard it wrong or don’t understand.
@@FaceYourFear. I believe he was joking, my good sir
@@FaceYourFear. it's a joke lol
Yes. I understand the joke guys! It just wasn’t funny at all.
Gabriel sanchez It’s not an actual joke it’s just dumb which is why it’s funny, u should build your sense of humour nerd
Knew something was going to happen when they show more of the forging days. Usually cut a big chunk of that if both weapons make it through all the testing. Still love these videos.
6:05 nice touch with "flesh it out"
Doug saying :
*It WiLl KeEl*
I love it
I love these videos of swords cutting things
I'm watching all these episodes just for the guy doing kill test.😍😍
one thing i love about this show how much they encourage each other much respect
Nobody wants to see a Blade Fail... These Guys put their Heart in Soul into their work.
“We got a straight blade” blade: curved
That's not what he meant lol
"it's a much lighter sword" bang ! he is on the lead... but wait a second ! bang ! much lighter sword breaks and he is done
Don't stop making shows like this. It's soo amazing and addicting
Imagine being killed so boars could test their weapons on ya
“Well Steve, we gotta problem man” that made me laugh so hard.
everytime i see a sword break i can't help but laugh...but mad respect to all the guys who go on this show and make it this far....i don't know how to forge ...once again nice job
Congrats Ryan! And happy birthday!
Always satisfied when I see hand hammer technique, and "It will keel" dose in the morning.
Love this show!! Would love to see more medieval weaponry or unconventional weapons from around the world. Would also like to see more diverse testing. overall great show!
I letterally screamed "owww" when the blade breaks.
”I think I’ve got a blade that can hold up to it”
Top half of blade: see you later alligator
When they don't start the testing within 4 minutes of a 10 minute vid... there's gonna be a problem.
They're al dressed like dads out to the mall on a Sunday while shattered blades are flying around. Gotta respect the balls on everyone.
When a blade breaks it hurts most 😫
"There is no sleep for the wicked" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Two good, respectful competitors. I like it.
These videos are so entertaining. Thanks!
Those two competitors look like an off brand Rhett and Link
Why do I think quenching is so satisfying ?
Doug can make keeel test even on needle 😄
Best show on history channel. Dont stop making these okay
Ever since I was a kid I always wondered how the soldiers on the battle field felt after being slashed in half with a sword....
probably not much since they instantly died...
@@xdLunar Not a chance lmao. Even being beheaded isn't quite instant, and bleeding out from a wound can take anything from minutes to days, if you get an infection then it could be weeks before you go. Disembowelment is a particularly gruesome one, since the intestines aren't vital organs it can take hours to die all the while your digestive tract leaks into your blood. Probably the only instant death on the battlefield would be a dainax through the skull
The heart crumbles when
When the blade snaps😄
10 gran is an awesome birthday blessing, I wish to have mine a couple of days.
All guys on this show is so cool and friendly
3:41 when your weapon gains an elemental attribute
I like the smile after saying “it will keal” 😊
"So I like to invite you to shake our hands, your competitors hand and please GTFO of the forge"
3:30 that heating was so uneven! no wonder it cracked!
This show is great.., the way they understand the importance of some good old, honorable, American handshaking at the end.. Very important for the unfortunate, yet still respectable, loser its a breath of fresh air..
I am really Happy that Ryan won cause this 10 000$ are surely a great Birthday present :)
Also if a sword is heavier it may also mean that it is stabler.
Not stable btw , if he clash with other weapon just a push will be hard to control. And also slow.
spoiler alert!!
But you can tell in the heat treat who was going to win. He didn't allow the blade to cool down in the heat treat. Your blade shouldn't be on fire after being in the oil.
@@FaceYourFear. what kind of idiot reads comments before watching? Here is a tip, dont read the comments in future
More like 6k after taxes
As soon as I saw that fireball/early pull in his quench, I knew it was going to fail the strength test.
Anybody else just watch these to hear Doug say "your blade will kill" in his accent.
It will kill! Legendary line💥💥
😂that blade was just like: I'm outa here
i love how hes says "it will kill"
"Overall Sir, your blade feels good, it will 'kkiieellll'!"
Nimcha ~ ”my name is JF” lol 😆
i expected the guy to cut his birthday cake with the sword he just made lol
Happy birthday beard dude
That man got a $10K check for his birthday, that's gotta be the best birthday gift you could get lol
I've watched so many of these, that I can tell if someone's blade will break based on video length alone now.
Same man, 😂😂😂
Jesus how you do that?
You are a sword specialist now, just apply to be a special judge on the show.
Good job to both competitors, they were very nice swords
I once want to see someone defying the laws of physics and accidentally make a weapon so sharp it cuts through even the durability test making them unable to complete the durability test fully
The Man Slammed Steve's Sword Sideways On The Posts
"Heat treat when good." *There's laterally an oil fire in his shop.*
I love how he states that it will kill....
You can kill with almost anything
That’s awesome I saw that vid when it was live
never seen a long blade quenched in something like that, def was able to be in there long enough at allll
Love how whatever that was caught fire, I think it was the blade then the water lol he covers it with a piece of ply wood lmao
What a great show
I dont think they appreciated just how close that guy came to setting himself on fire
Always thought a nimcha was a Vietnamese appetizer who knew it was a gigantic sword
Don't mind me, I'm here only for the "It will keel"
I like this competition👍..hope one day malaysia will do the same🙏🙏👍👍👍
