Fan made model of carrack modular belly pods. We will work now on series of Module ideas suggested by you in the comments - Feel free to add short description as well. Please be reasonble - as we all know what we can and can not show on youtube. Thank you - AstroChronicles

Repurpose assets from the "destroy contraband" missions & boom! Meth Lab module.
Ideas:
3 standart sized modules: cargo (base), auxiliary fueltank module, garage module for a mini submarine ( taking up about half of the pod interior) with crane system to lower and rise it in and out or water or similar liquides and a small repair bay for the sub....
1 tripple sized pod for search and rescue ops, with 2 airlocks ( 1 on each side) to allow fast access when landed, a whole bunch of jumpseats for rescued people and stablizng equipment for injuries and easy means to get to the Carracks main elevator and also the front rover bay and its ship to ship dockingport...
quick set up modules for temporary outposts with different sizes and functions (pods always have two functions), like: habitation (2-3 pers.), lab, battery ( with fold-out wind turbines and solar panels), med bay (a single T3 bed only), and many more ( mini refinery?)... all pods have 2 fold out softbody-air-locks that can also function as connectors between pods...
Have you tried getting a job at CIG? Maybe you could work on the BMM???
Three deployable Survey/Forward observation outposts with radio telescopes that coordinate together as per the Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) technique.
The notion being as a competitor to the Radio telescope module of the Endeavor. Potentially higher resolution, but a much longer time needed to emplace and retrieve the modules.
Furthermore, such mini-observation bases might serve as local safe houses for good and nefarious gameplay roles. Double kudos if you create a module incorporating unfolding elements reminiscent of Ten Fold Engineering's design work.
CIG needs to take note instead of continually building more ships…. Its ridiculous. There as been no update on the carrack since release. The ideas presented here should have seriously consideration. I love it!!!
Field hospital - a small medical pod, for field respawn or simpler patching up.
Field repair station - a refuel and repair pod for ground vehicles.
Field Armory - A small armory pod, that can be dropped with a secured door where you can drop of ammo and weapons into the field.
obersvation pod - camoflaged, where you can hide to observe wildlife or enemies.
bunker pod - if you want to renact the alamo, but in a pod

Refuel and repair pod for fury gameplay make carrier gameplay viable
Personally, I would love to see a Base Module as the next addition. It would essentially serve as a module that can be deployed on a planet, providing a fully equipped survival shelter. This module would offer everything needed for survival in a comprehensive and self-sufficient manner.
implementation would be like: yo guys here you go TIER 0 = camping tent :D (all jokes asides camping tent is still better then no tent or no base hehehe )

Extra drone Bays
Expaning on the existing drone capability of the Carrack, these modules store and support and increased number of drones.
Science lab
The Carrack is a military explorer, once it arrives on location the science pod contains a small laboratory to analyse samples of what is found.
Extra Fuel Tank
The Carrack's range is extreme, but it can always go further!
Snub holders
The hangar space can hold a few ships, but is primarily a safe space for the multi role Pisces. 6 Merlin/achimedes Holders can replace the cargo area to house, refuel and support that small squadron in the same manner that a constellation supports it's snub. (or potentially even more furies...)
SAR
Modules with search lights, remote turret cameras and conveyance to bring casualties aboard to get them to the med bay.
Love the SAR idea, makes a lot of sense given that moving incapacitated characters to the medical room is a nightmare in the carrack's main configuration
With remotely piloted inflatable life pods to drop and pick up survivors.
Extended hangar bay - A module that takes the entire three bay slot that contains a hangar area for additional support craft.
Deployable Hospital - A field hospital with a "deployed" state meant to be set up and using the overall Carrack as a field hospital point
Garage - Support your racing vehicles with a garage that can be deployed
Troop bays - Seating and armory section for infantry deployment
Bomb racks - drop smaller gravity ordinance than an A2
Science labs - Additional science equipment and lab space to support the work done with the Carrack's existing extensive sensors
Extending Torpedo bay - Pack an extra surprise with anti-capital ship torpedoes; make the Carrack a mini-Polaris
Additional Habitation space - More living space/life support to extend the crew available
Grow rooms - A smaller version of the Endeavor's grow domes, just made internally for the space available in the bays and using hydroponics.
All I could think of off hand; looking forward to what you end up building!
I love the cart glitching on the pad in the beginning. Also medical and science modules. And maybe outpost machines like miners and refineries, water purification and hydroponic systems.
I love to see the pods! How about a habitation pod that can be quick-deployed like a makeshift outpost, essentially turning the Carrack into a knock-off Pioneer?
Probably over doing it a bit, but any of these would be awesome:
1) Extra large torpedo module: combine all modules into one that would carry just one of the largest size torpedo that would fit.
2) Titan Module: A module for maintaining and launching titan suits
3) Scanner module: additional scanning equipment and stations to survey planets and find resources
4) mining module times 2: one module to mine out the side of the carrack, one module to store the ore
5) fuel module: extend the range of the carrack
6) shop module: sell goods merchantman style
- a "cube" habitat deployment unit, like what we see in ground stations, to setup a small ground settlement while exploring new worlds;
- a XXL landing pad, maybe upside down (mirroring the pisces hangar), that will allow another ship that fits in the module to lift out of it. maybe a prospector...;
- a small module to refine quantanium, and space for ROC , in order to extend fuel capacity in exploration mode
- a wide cargo haul with no catwalk and innaccessible from the inside , for food only or sustenances for remote locations, or something specific used in exploration and not to compete directly with other cargo vessels
i also would like for the cargo module to be fully detachable, if you have an exploration mission to deliver a settlement load on a remote site, that is composed by 3 modules, you just pick it up, and leave it at destination
Oh cool! Perhaps droppable mini-hab/research pods. You could drop one next to a cave or something to support the exploration team while the ship does other things. It would need a tiny closet style airlock and I imagine most of the life support and power stuff would need to be overhead. Or maybe it needs additional setup once dropped? Maybe its expandable? You gotta stop giving me so many ideas lol
Medical bay: I know there is already a medical bay in the carrack but if the room was detachable from the carrack then it could be deployed where needed, room size could change the level of the medical bed
Cells: functions like the cells in the cutlass blue, could be used for bounty hunting or I imagine a police version could use it as a mobile station
Escape pods: just a single room with a few escape pods as the carrack is a sub capital yet doesn’t have any
Bomb bay: taking inspiration from the A2 this module would be able to load and drop the nukes
Habitation: just some extra room for passengers to eat/sleep, could be used for extreme scenarios like refugee relief
Data running room: basically just some servers for the data running aspect of the game yet to be implemented
Port-a-potty module. I don't know why you would want one but it sounds funny enough.
Loved the duel bay at the end I would never have thought of that.

This was awesome! I would definitely like to see 2 of the 3 converted into 1 the way you showed 1:22 , we could carry multiple vehicles and maybe a spaceship in there

I would like to see a diplomacy module with a desk in the middle, extra entrances from two sides and some monitors / holo projectors for remote communication.

Module ideas: VLS Missile Pod. Point defense (guns on sides) Hab Module (single and double) Tractor Beams in cargo pods. ROC Pod with mini refinery.
CIG, Stat!!!. If there’s nothing stopping modularity as you say, let’s do this!
1) Drop pod
2) Elevator pod (to make up for the built in central elevator not going all of the way to the ground)
3) Ventral exit door pod (ditto)
4) Shop pod
5) Repair pod
6) Hab pod
7) Armory pod

Labmodule with airlock, Shelfed Module for Hoverbike/ Bike transport, Garage for Roc mining with auto storage transfer, Additional Fuel module, additional living space module and a module that has just a table some seats and a kitchenette in it with an Airlock so it could be left as emergency shelter.

Outpost module holders capable of transporting a small sized building too a planet.
A Tank Holder so that Tumbril Nova or Storm tanks can be dropped into combat.
Medical modules with configurable bed arrangements.
Living Quarters/Passenger transportation modules.
Refinery modules.

Since Carrack has already a snub hangar on top and small vehicule hangar at front, single and double pods would be great IMO :
- single for medium vehicule (ex: Balista)
- and double for anything else like you did, with exploration and research bay for example.

I'd love to see a module connects all three pods and functions as another hangar for small ships. Medical stations and other temporary outpost or other service station stuff that can be dropped to triple R etc.
passenger living quarters with seating area, small bar with some snack and drink, fridge or something, TV, beds and bathroom, with glass windows for the view
With 1 big pod this would truly be Thunderbird 2
A penthouse suite with panoramic windows. A hermetically sealed research/transport laboratory. An array of infantry hot-drop pods. A storefront/bartering table for a small shop.

An outpost module. It has been a long time since it's been discussed, but the ability to drop a beacon and some amenities on a planet is simply game changing. Being able to set up our own mining outposts, mini-bunkers, and such would drastically change how the game is played. Being able to hone in on it from across the system is something that would give many players a big advantage when recovering salvage, or mining especially good finds, or even for FPS events.
A snub “hangar” module - there would be a large plate with heavy gravity, which would normally have a snub fighter on it, that could “swing open” to allow the snub to take off/land on it.
A terrarium or cage module where we can hold the exotic creatures we have hunted and captured !

I would love to see a module that removes the three small modules and adds one big one instead for housing the smallest ships.
Cannon module takes up all three slots and holds a massive laser cannon just to make the carrack even more annoying. Brig module , maybe a combined pod of 2 that could be used to transport prisoners around. Lift module , drops onto a cave opening and creates a lift for ground vehicles to get down

Gunship modules - any weapons between Size 7 to 10, drawback is it's fits to one side, basically best for broadside engagements/support.
Some prefab modules. Like a small habitat with two support structures. That way, a Carrack could setup a small base in one drop.

A dropoff field research hab module. A deployable research/mining module with a ROC, equipment locker, fabrication bench, bathroom, and bed for logout. Like a mini Hab for a miner or two to be stationed on a remote moon to focus on a single task until the Carrack returns.
Finally, Been waiting for this one! Can't wait to see what you all come up with for the Carrack!

@@AstroChronicles It would give me great pleasure to see the back elevator go all the way down...if you can included that in the vid. Also it would be great to see the modules being dropped for use. Maybe a Surface Mining and refining module or Surface exploration module that can operate independently after dropped. I'm sure you gonna have lots of ideas to play with!
I like the idea of a barracks/dropship module. Top half would be a small living space for an embedded squad of marines, the bottom half would be an armory with drop seats that said marines can deploy from.
I think a hydroponics module would make a lot of sense. It would make the Carrack even more self sustaining

Habitation module that has room to park a ROC or ROC DS. This would allow for the deployment of one of the crew that the ship scanned out for minerals, and the carrack can return days later to retrieve the crew member. You could deploy three across an area, making it a good setup for multi-crew planetary play.
I would like to see a docking module for 1 or 2 arrows, like on the connie. but at a 45° angle to match the angled sideprofile.
Idea # 1. The small bay holds 4 to 8 drones connected via umbilical cords with fuel probes, and the large dual bay is a large fuel tank cable of refueling multiple ships. Or a large ship with multiple refueling ports.
Idea # 2. 3x Small Bay Broadside torpedo tubes targets must be in a 45° angle from launchers to get a lock.
Idea # 3. Large bay Electronic warfare suite with a small bay with extra chaff and flares
Idea # 4. Small bay holds ship to ship docking collar. The large bay is non retractable, and it is a large room for whatever the player needs.
Idea # 5. The small bay is a kitchen. The large dual bay is a massive 2-story dining hall with vip seatings and windows.
Idea # 6. Small bay luggage. The large dual bay is a non retractable 4 story passnager transport.

Clearly the usual: A Refinery with tractor beam station for the saddle bags, and a cargo freight-lift that can push a huge amount of cargo directly into a Caterpillar.

I like the idea of being to completely drop the modules. They could also have retractable bridges for not carrying larger contents.
Weapon Bays, like on the Lockheed AC 130 Gunship. Would be effective in air support for ground troops. Maybe even good at broadsiding other spaceships
Firebase Module. It takes up three modules. It unloads and immediately deploys a SAM battery like on the ballista on the top as well as gun turrets.

It would be cool to have a Science Lab as well as entertaiment and additional living space pods. Also Pods that COULD give other "gameplay" loops like Servers vor longrange Data Running.
I can also see them as "Drop Pods" for a "quick and dirty" outpost creation or even Additional turrets.
Carrier pods would also be intresting, like they dont Lower themself but open up the floor, or the sides so fighters or rescue ships could deploy.
Air to Ground Fire support
up to 3 Turrets with arcs able to point directly down and sideways, although the nose will prevent any forward view, the hull prevents any rear view, and the lateral view is max 0 degrees
Strikeforce module. Vehicle and personnel seats to allow quick deployment of ground force, 1 spartan, 2 ursas or 4 cyclones. Maybe two levels to allow for armor or weapon storage.

I love the idea of lowerable modules for vehicles and loading/offloading.
Would love to see a star trek-esque engineering module or maybe even a "business class" transport module. Could have a small bathroom and area with media devices and chairs or couches.

The Carrack is so versatile that the pods idea is almost harder for them to implement. I’ve been looking forward to them implementing this or speaking about it for as long as I’ve owned the carrack expedition, but the more I think about it, the more I struggle to come up with good ideas. An all in one living and research outpost maybe that can be dropped on a planet while the ship continues to explore a system? Luxury accommodation for wealthy explorers who want to come along? Maybe some vehicle transport or bigger hanger for more extreme exploration. Heavy shield and power modules for risky places.
Anything outside of exploration focus would see out of place, but I suppose there are a few possible options.

Nice work!!! :D i love the idea of modularity in ships. It'd be especially cool to see a module for the DRAKE Caterpillar that adds snub fighter docking to the underbelly of each compartment. Very much like how the Kruger Merlin docks with the RSI Constellation.

First Module: Extra fuel tanks in both Hydrogen and Quantum to increase its' overall range. This could come in the way of a single, double, and or overall large module.
Second Module: Some sort of self sustaining food/hydration systems. For example the ability to pull hydrogen and oxygen from the atmosphere and produce drinkable water as well as somewhere to process raw resources found planet side to create meals from. And a way to store extra of both for later needs.
repair module that opens up towards the bottom like a Crucible, so it can work on other large vessels 👍

This is awesome and maybe a base building capability similar to what some of the other ships like Galaxy will have. Also wouldn't mind some Carrack in-game updates like the exterior finish. Even if they keep the same base color scheme they could make it look a bit sharper and more metallic in appearance. The metal cockpit cover would be cool to but i don't know if that'll ever be in game.

Do you mean Support for Prospector/Mole? or On-Board Refinery ?
@@AstroChronicles A refinery module that you drop to the surface. The entire pod is the refinery you leave behind and return to atmosphere. This would be a surface POI for miners to drop off their ore for refinement. Then a cargo ship can onload the final product. Kind of how I see it in my head.

Nice, I always envisioned that cargo space to be a JOT area if you will which could carry everything from cargo pods like shown to prefabbed drop bases and building of various sorts.

type 10 bombs or type 9 torp modules (torps may take 2 bays).... also obvious ones like field hospital, would like a triple bay modules that allows me to dock small ships and re-arm/repair... same module with ramp could allow ballista's to re-arm/repair and stay on station. Could even have a drop ship module with rows of seats allowing you to drop troops.. Many of these are outside the bounds of what the carrack was designed for (exploration) but would make it a killer ship.
I think just for the unique Idea of base building . You should do a detachable Science pod that can act as a mobile science base when detached from the carrack. That would be pretty cool, and would show CIG what kind of modules they can make other than the kind they do now.
a 3 pod large exploration vehicle storage system, or a single pod with a ROC that can drop down, but the other 2 pods dont bc they store refining stations, with a door between the roc pod and the refining pods

A racing module. Small hanger Module for the fury. Vehicle repair Module. Dropship module where it just drops the module so troops can disembark and go grab more.
Exploration/Survey pods. Includes mobile bases
Could you be more descriptive? Apart from Tech, Computers, Servers - what else? like Radars? Scanners?

Definitely a refinery.
I'd like to see the following modules for the Carrack:
1. A dedicated vehicle transport container to hold 2 Nova Tanks in one space with some room to move around them.
2. A torpedo launching bay with two additional turrets placed in line with where the walls of the containers currently are, for bombing runs and better LZ clearing. Yes it might look a bit like a dick and balls but adding extra firepower to the Carrack could come in handy
3. A specialized dock just for the Terrapin, I'm imagining it would have a sort of 4 pronged "claw" that locks on to the vertical fins on the Terrapin's engines and pulls it up so the door is in-line with the catwalk going through that section.

aw man sweet idea, the terrapin would be awesome. maybe in the top of carrack , just after the deck, it seems to have something to slide and dock there.
Maybe a planetary exploration module, with some beds, research equipment and maybe a drone to do some long distance scouting?
Deployable permanent outpost that you can use as a Exploration FOB. It would have habs, consumables, up-to-medium ship limited repair, refuel or restock capabilities, dependent on incoming supplies from other ships. Perfect to build around and expand any Pioneer created settlements.
Would love to hear some actual news about these modules on the carrack and also the drone bay... long time since any updates on it came out
Extra fuel; cargo, vehicle bay, science stations, triage, refinery, evac/transport pers, emergency shelter (dropped off), emergency power (dropped off)
Swapping out the crates for one giant one would be cool. Wether it’s for vehicles or it’s our player Hab, like your able to just pack up and put it anywhere like a mini fob
Exploration "mechanic shop"
Basically a big bay with space for an URSA sized vehicle, with Refueling and extra fuel pods, repairing drones plus a small airlocked section for decontamination.
Fuel pod - for extended journeys
Science pod - research and discoveries
Agriculture pod - generate food for extended journeys
Drone and buoy pod - expanded drone deployment options and spares
Please! Make a Xi'an zen garden with big, wide windows (would use the three slots in one big room). So people can enjoy some good quality time with nature cultivated within! (Could be a nice place for pets too)

For my Carrack I'd get one module that fits the Atlas hull (and a future exploration variant), one laboratory, and one cargo.
Can't wait for modules to come to the Carrack and CIG making the back or side elevator descend to the ground instead of us having to open the large and slow cargo ramp to get into the ship.
The new fury pod drops would b an intresting one
Hangar bay module (self explanatory, it would be nice if it includes refueling systems, as well as spare ammo and components)
Boarding module (includes grappling hook and boarding capsules that pierce enemy ship armour and allows for carrack crew to board it, basically like in halo)
Repair module (this module is designed to be used in space, has doors at the bottom, and repair beam. Carrack can hover above repaired ship, and then repair beam will extend through door)
Refinery module (simple refinery with systems that can replace prospectors cargo pods)
Mining module (works similarly to repair module, but with mining lance in place of repair beam, can be also swapped with salvage module)
F*** you module (lets go crazy - each pod contains s10 railgun, 3 guns in total, in broadside configuration)
