I remember seeing The Starting Line live in Louisville, KY at some festival, and Ken the lead singer says, "So has anyone here heard of us before?!?" I proceeded to scream my drunken lungs out from the front row(most others said nothing because it was mostly metalish bands). Ken then directly points at me and says, "Well, at least this guy has...but he won't remember it tomorrow." I still remember that like yesterday and it still makes me laugh thinking about it. So fuck you, Ken, I remembered and TSL is still one of my favorite bands

When I found this song it hit me on a different level. I went to my first high school dance my senior year with a girl I just started talking to February 11th 2017. Everything was beautiful and I lost my virginity to her at midnight February 12th I never thought I would have a song that holds such a special place for me for the rest of my life. Things didn’t workout the way I planned a year later and it ended around the same time in 2018. If you love someone try to fix things thank you the starting line!
I’m just starting to get into the starting line, I felt like I slept on some good ass music and wish I I could’ve jam to them in my high school days but better late than never, I’m 29 now and this music hits different and feels so nostalgic at the same time ❤️
this song got me through mid-teenage years, though it was released 2 years before i checked it. still. now i work in an office of a boring financial services job.
This is how I said good bye to my college sweetheart, who I found out had been cheating. It wasn't just once, it was repeated, and one of the guys was in 2 of my classes. My graduation gift to her was a custom made frame of the 2 of us kissing on the beach at our senior year party in Ocean City MD. We were in the parking lot of the apartment complex helping each other move out. I finished before her and said I had a gift for her. Gave it to her, while playing DJ Sammy We're In Heaven acoustic. She started crying. Then I took out a folder and said I have something even more special for her. She opened the folder and inside of it was all of the proof that my friend gave me of her cheating, including pics of a friend of friend who saw her at parties. Her hands started shaking and she fell to the ground crying. I asked which was more important to her, what was in the frame or what was in the folder. She started crying profusely, balling on the ground like a child, and said she doesn't know. So I made the decision for her, took the picture frame, smashed it on the ground next to her, and drove off. She wrote me an email a decade later later saying how sorry she was for hurting me, yada yada. It's funny how cheaters change their tune years later when their cheating catches up to them, and they insist on reaching out to people they have hurt in the past a means of validating their repentance. I told her good riddance. I am happily with someone who opened my eyes to what true love really is. I will forever remember this song because of that
