The most reliable ones are how much effective language can be expressed in a short period of time, and how much someone can talk without pausing and hesitating. The accuracy of the spoken language is not important as long as the person speaking can keep up with the range of topics in real time.
Once I won a scholarship in 3 different English courses, I remember that I was improving quickly, so for me studying everyday and also practicing it is the best way to achieve fluency, if I had money to pay for private classes everyday, I would probably be better.

Fluency is when you are adaptable and flexible when you speak - right. Whoever digs herself into learning a foreign language more and more knows that the definition of fluency is not only in the meaning of the words. If you understand someone who is not speaking flawlessly but you understand her through her gestures, body movements, small signs, intuition, you can call that person fluent.
I believe that we a on the same page here @Aerosmith77 You are right, speaking fluently is different to speaking accurately, and it can be achieved through different means. Body language is an extremely important aspect of communication which can assist (or inhibit) your ability to communicate clearly. I believe the words 'adaptable' and 'flexible' are useful to define *fluency* because communication in any language is possible without *accuracy* and perfection, as long as you can adapt or adjust your approach to ensure you successfully deliver your message and are understood.
Thank you Emma, your advices is very helpful and mind blowing! I think I can reach my goal and I'll capture English properly if I maintain your advices.
Your video is for much more than promoting your business. Fluency is all about being able to communicate with others at ease. English is my second language but I am pleased that as time goes by, I no longer have to think in Chinese when I write or speak English. Fluency in English can widen your horizon for sure. Thank you Emma for all your great work and sound advice!🎉😊
Thank you, Tammy! We love your definition of *fluency!* You are recognising improvement and progress over time, which is wonderful! It sounds like you are consistently making progress! Keep it up!
In january and February in this year I was studying and practicing English every day, in the apps, UA-cam, I worked selling my sweets and approaching people in English I felt confident and I felt the fluency in speaking English. But after that I felt discouraged and I felt in my intuition to stop. Now in this month I decided to return and practice again but lightly without expectations. I hope to return in that feeling amazing to speak English!
Being fluent in a language is when you can express your opinion, talk to someone and not have to go over the words in your head. When a conversation doesn't make you stay silent and think about how to say it. When you can listen and understand what is being said to you.

I don't know what to think right now cause I've been studying it since 2018 and yet don't feel like being fluent.. I can handle conversations a long as they don't get too much deep and could understand this whole video without problem but as I said, still not feeling myself fluent whatsoever... 12 to 18 months seems to my a very optimistic amount of time.
Fluency means being able to understand when others speak and to make yourself unterstood when you speak, whatever the context or situation. It means being comfortable and confident when you speak in English.
fluency for me is to speak not just like a native, when I can speak without thinking about most words and phrases also my accent doesn't sound annoying to others I can tell I'm speaking fluently
I've been working in a call center for over 6 months now, of course I objectivily know that i've improved a lot since i started. But to be honest I'm not feeling quite comfortable with my speaking skills yet.. I know that having an accent is a normal thing, but I would really like to have as less accent as possible some words are difficult too. And maybe some expressions does not sound natural. It feels a llittle bit discoraging when you noticed you reached some kind of plateau.
How could she know if she’s a native speaker ? That question depends on each person, how long you spend your time with, if you have some expertise in learn languages. There are a lot of question you need to know first. There’s no a specific time. For example, I’ve been studying English for 3,5 years, I don’t feel I’m fluent yet despite a lived abroad for 1 year and 9 months. The only thing I know it takes time.
Experts say that it takes about twelve months depending on how much practice you put in it. That’s illusion pardon my honesty. Fluency depends on the environment In places where the target language is used it takes time but more that what these experts said Learning the language in countries where it is not spoken as first language takes years even if you spend eight hours a day So years and years This is my experience of learning English More that 40 years

If you think to your own language and you translate to other language, you will never speak fluently
To be fluent when speaking means finding the right word in the right time
Hello lovely Emma I am old subscriber, how can I talk to you directly?❤
Hi 👋
What is most difficult when communicating with a native speaker is the speed of speech making it difficult to listen. It’s so fast! 😊
Being able to speak in English
What does happen to mmmm English?
In my opinion, to be fluent, you need to communicate and explain about some things. So, it's enough.
No it's isn't
Although a little vague, I think I agree with you! You mean that if you can communicate your message, in most situations, it's enough! Right?
@@heyladyenglish how about the emotions and the accuracy of that message? I think it should also be taken into account when it comes to "fluency"
we see that fluent means “able to speak a language very well”. Fluent speech or writing is described as “smooth and confident, with no mistakes
Is it free?
That's accuracy.
I need one friend who can English practice with me
I'm here my friend, you can join me to speak english?
Fluency is when you be able to deliver what you speak to other people and they can understand what did you say
