    So many good points here!! It’s not about perfection, it’s just about a little bit of progress every day right 🥰xx

    I love that you're using a whisk to act as a microphone. Shows that you can start something and it doesn't need to be perfect with thousands of dollars of equipment. Thanks for starting making videos. You're an inspiration!

      Thank you so much Brandon! This was one of my new year's resolutions is to not wait for a perfect moment, but rather to start even if I'm not 100% ready. Appreciate your kind words

    I spent New Years Eve binging minimalist and low/no buy videos and this is the first one that addressed trauma as being a possible cause of certain spending habits. I absolutely agree. My three siblings and I grew up extremely poor. My youngest sister was the first member of my family to attend college and now that she’s a doctor she hoards her money, half the time unwilling to even spend on necessities. Meanwhile my middle sister, who has a decent job but nothing that will make anyone wealthy, goes on rampant shopping sprees at thrift stores and cheap online stores. Her house is overflowing. I understand that I’m addicted to retail therapy, but I’m also an older college student with an extremely limited income for the foreseeable future and can’t live like that anymore. I began my no-buy month on the first and spent the last week purging stuff. You’re right, it’s difficult but liberating.

      Willow, thank you so so much for sharing something so personal on here. It is indeed so interesting how each of your siblings has a different trauma response. Proud of you on starting your no buy journey. Even though there isn't too much data on it, I wholeheartedly believe that by addressing childhood money trauma (that is very much connected to adulthood spending habits), it is possible to find healthier and better coping mechanisms and resolve spending/overconsumption issues. Over the next few weeks I'll do more research on the subject and hopefully make a video that is representative of the subject and relation of childhood money traumas - adult spending habits.
      Thank you and I wish you good luck on your no buy journey. I hope that through doing so, you will be able to see clearer what causes buying impulses and how to deal with them in healthier ways.
      Kindest regards,

    It is so interesting how siblings raised the same way can be totally different with how they handle money. My sister and I are total opposite! I don't know that I necessarily have a trauma response with money, because nothing bad ever happened, but I am a huge saver because money represents safety.

      @alreadyenough  15 днів тому

      Agree! I would like to read some studies done if any on how siblings in the same family can end up with completely different spending habits. And good for your for being a saver because truthfully, life is so unpredictable.

    Your voice is very calming and easy to listen to. Every time you think, “I don’t feel like filming or editing today” remember you have something to teach even just one person every time you post a new video!

    Helloo! I just wanted to say that I had no idea your channel was so new! I thought you were a pro. I hope you make more videos like this! It's nice to hear that it's okay not to buy things that aren't necessary. I've gotten better at it over the last two years. I'm hoping to make a budget by the end of the month, and I'm really excited to hear about your capsule closet! I've always dreamt of just having a few high-quality core pieces.

    • @alreadyenough
      @alreadyenough  16 днів тому +1

      Thank you SOOOOO much!! :) I've been wanting to start a channel like this for about 2 years now, but was too afraid, so I have a lot to offload off my chest so to speak now that I finally gained some courage to start posting :D Proud of you and your goals! Keep going!!! Clothes video will drop tomorrow, although I don't have too many high quality pieces yet as I had to work with what I could at the time without buying anything extra :)

    The whisk is funny lol 😂 thats minimalism for real 😅 been doing no buy challenge and now im not buying things at all for 10 years, i buy only what i must or really want to. Love it, it made me a millionaire at 30 years old and now im investing in real estate and stock market. I plan to retire at 50 ❤ good job girl, keep it up and one day UA-cam will be a good side income

      That's a great start as our thoughts and intentions are generated partially from the content we consume. Glad to hear you're doing activities with your 3 little ones, they will remember the time you've spent with them
