The pick gives awesome drive where it’s needed!!
I have tiny hands so I’m going to have to practice holding the pick easily for going back to the finger strike parts.
Picks on bass isn’t just for metal. It delivers great drive. You placed it in the song perfectly!

Loved the tone!! Agreed with a comment posted here regarding the 8th note pattern, but the tone was on point 👏🏼

As a 23 year veteran bass player, my critique would be that since the song doesn’t have a definitive 8th note progression in this 4/4 time signature, you’ll want your strumming pattern to follow the snare and kick drum more. Also, using a pick, especially on a P-bass, makes the bass sound more distorted and should mostly be used for punk music or other songs where you want that high sustain string sound. But overall, I liked how you could see the whole bass and where all the root notes were and I also really liked the thumbnail a lot. Keep up the good work! :-)

Thanks! I think this will help me learning the song. For our band I won't be playing 8th notes that much because it will just sound too busy. I'll keep your tips in mind.

I've learned so much from this cover! Thank you! Nice set up, high quality, amazing content! How did you do the ending? What chords did you use?

Nice work. Nice quality video production as well. I've learned this song to play at worship next week and stumbled on this while looking for some inspiration to spice up a few areas that I was a little board with. I don't think I'm going to play as many 8th-note sections, but I will throw in a few measures where is makes sense with our band. I'm also playing fingers at worship even though I many play with pick in classic rock cover band. Pick is a little abrasive for our band and mix, IMO.

Yeah thanks Jason, I heard an octave but I couldn’t get quite the similar sound so I think I’m missing some strumming pattern or something else

The pick totally ruined it for me. Didn't know you were doing metal variation.
