  • 2019 BMW S1000RR Ride Review - Simply put, the 2019 BMW S1000RR is the finest sports bike to have yet been built. It is truly superb.
    In this vid I take to the normal country roads of South East England to see what all the fuss is about, and try this incredible machine out for myself. I rode the first BMW S1000RR back in 2010 but found it too small, too unrefined it its brutal power delivery, and quite simply not a patch on my beloved GSX-R1000.
    9 years later on, the 2019 BMW S1000RR is the very epitome of refinement, insane power, poise, comfort and out right fun!
    I LOVED this bike!
    Hope you enjoy the vid folks, keep SUBSCRIBING, keep SHARING, keep LIKING, and keep letting me know what you think in the COMMENTS section below!

    People ask me why I love my ZZR1400, when it's more power than I'll ever need. Your word for this bike sums it up perfectly... "effortless"

    Love to see you try the new R1250RS. It could be the great compromise between sport and touring. My 2017 is the best bike I have owned. Tours great and has real world power, cornering and comfort.

      teapotone I got an ex demo m package. Put so much carbon on it now as it looks a bit plasticky out of the box. I’m going through a mid life crisis with sports bikes. Rode gs for years and just having a ball now after a cancer scare. Just subbed to your channel. Cheers mate.

      I know bud, but you know what people can be like (especially some coppers 🙄🤦‍♂️) and I’m sure you’re aware of how ridiculously out of touch professional standards can be too.
      To be honest, the Hampton who reported me did me a favour, I’m happier than I’ve been in a long, long time and loving each day now.

      teapotone it’s a sad state of affairs. Not sure if this will make you feel better but I left the UK 11 years ago but still do the same job in South Australia. The toe cutters work exactly the same way in both hemispheres.
      Glad it’s all worked out and that you’re happier for it. I just got home after spending all day in the dirt on my Africa Twin - I’ve started making short vids to capture the moment and as we dropped into a valley I heard myself say “Look at thaaaaat” in a Scottish accent - weird considering I was born in Preston and now live in Australia!

    Took me a while to get to this video. I'm at the same point in my riding life, been there, done the R1 thing. Nearly pulled the trigger on an 1150 GS last month but went and got a 4000 mile K1200GT. Glad I did. Only had 1 ride on it but it has that 150bhp rush and surprisingly light handling with amazing comfort. Shame it's not really something they make anymore. K16 is a bit of a bus to my eye....and way too expensive!

      For me yes, the S1000RR is a far better package than the GSX-R1000R. It felt like it fitted me better surprisingly, had more power throughout the Rev range, and just felt superior in terms of build quality and finish.
      The Gixxer is by no means a bad bike, it’s fantastic. But the S1000RR for me has just taken the bar and launched it up to new heights.

    Nice use of the Insta360 One X Bruce, the rear facing body mounted position is a bit clumsy isn't it, but having it body mounted on your back is a lot easier. RAM Mounts are your friend though, at least are on your own bike, they can give you a really stable platform to mount the selfie-stick that doesn't restrict you moving around on the bike! :-)

    Every time I’ve ridden the 272 it’s been the same - traffic stops play just as you get to the good bits. As for the brakes and chain/sprockets (or “cogs” as an MOT tester once said to me - I kid you not 😂) they are so easy to do yourself, or have a pal fit them for you..? BMW ain’t shy when it comes to the basic stuff 💰

    Hi ya bruce don't know if your aware but since they did away with block exemption in the early 00's you don't have to take your vehicle to a main dealer to honour the warranty anyone can do it long as they follow the schedule & use genuine parts, If i were you id find my self a good independent or bmw specialist probably get a better job done at half the cost, Don't forget his names above the door he want's you to come back.
    PS hope the met training is going well ? or is it done & dusted now ?

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  5 років тому

      Hello bud, yes I’m aware of the warranty thing ta, and I always used to just get my bikes serviced etc through outside garages.
      However something they don’t tell you, and I almost fell foul of this when my Triumph Explorer ‘exploded’, was that under the warranty you must use all genuine parts - which includes oil and some other fluids. So if your garage uses any other oil other than the specific one supplied by Triumph for example, if a warranty claim is made and they decide to inspect the bike, they can often tell if the oil is genuine brand oil or not (apparently
      Triumph use some kind of DNA-type thing in their oil?)
      If it’s not genuine branded material, then your warranty is void.
      When I moved to BMW the customer service was so good that I’m prepared to pay more in the knowledge that I’m getting great service and product in return. They also provide me with courtesy bikes so I’m never without a bike - as I have no other form of transport really. Plus it’s actually been a lot cheaper to service the GS than any other bike I’ve owned in the long run.

    • @deviantrider9309
      @deviantrider9309 5 років тому

      @@teapotone Yeh you know the score bruce :- ) by the way most triumph dealers use castrol or fuchs oil, fuchs is really good stuff highly recommend it, i use it in my own bike. Always used genuine parts on my customers vehicles be silly not too with the trade discount there cheaper than the mickey mouse parts, In over 25 years on the spanners only ever had one problem with a customer warranty claim on a vauxhall i ended up running rings round the dealers & they honoured the claim
      With respect to oil DNA i would say there looking at the grade & type ie if for instance they recomended a c3 spec oil to be used & it wasn't then they could throw it out but brand of oil wouldn't make a difference long as it meets the required grade hope that helps

      @deviantrider9309 5 років тому

      @@chr11sf No as far as i'm aware the october 2003 act covers motorbikes aswell as cars vans trucks etc, The only grey area that could arise is if you had finance on the bike or it is on a pcp ( without a service contract ) & the hp company has stipulated main dealer servicing because you don't own the vehicle until the last payment is made

    Hi Bruce. I took same version (different bike) for test ride. I found it very vibey around 4000rpm, to the point that you could feels the vibes through fuel tank and seat. Also made any view in mirror almost non existent. Having previously owned an 11 plate S1000rr I was surprised that it didn’t feel as nice to ride as my 2011. Did you notice any vibes? Mentioned to dealer and he said yes they are vibey. Watched a few reviews and no one has mentioned it
