Can you do a video on how to hit fungo or throw BP, for those of us that want to be super dads or aspiring coaches?

When it comes to fungo it just takes practice. I’m 20 but I’ve been an assistant coach for youth teams since I was 16. Over the last few years I’ve improved a lot, just take tons of reps to be able to control the location and speed of the ball. Now I’m the infield coach at my old high school and I’ve gotten pretty good at it.

You know I get the whole idea of over doing it because sometimes you have to over do it to get back to center mentally.. Sure I agree to much of any extreme can and probably is detrimental but alot of times you can't find out what you're working with on a given day until you go hard one way just so you can be like "nope that's not working" lol. What do you think?

In my opinion, there is way too much focus in baseball on the swing, the hips, the hands, 'squishing the bug' etc. than on whats most important, and thats good old 'hand eye coordination'. As a hitter, my coaches always assumed that there was something wrong with the swing if a player wasn't hitting well. Over time, I realized just making contact and watching the baseball all the way to the bat was the key to hitting. Very difficult to teach, as many players tend to take their eye off the ball way to early before they swing. Most coaches don't notice that and its a reflex to look away. However, once I focused on the ball more and not the swing, my hitting always improved.

So hands above the barrel though the zone slightly up at the ball? It’s been a while since I played, but they taught to attack slightly down to create backspin so the ball would carry. Good stuff thanks for the video.

I'm a righty, but I swing a goods in college and it works really well for me. I'm pretty much exclusively a power hitter.
