  • I thought it would be fun (and nostalgic) to record a couple Irish tunes using my Fostex multitrack cassette deck, which I originally acquired in the 90s. At that time, our Three Generations band in Tucson, Arizona, used it to make demo recordings, and a multitrack was a perfect way to do this. What I really liked using this was getting that good old analog sound for the flute here. The guitar background is courtesy of Online Academy of Irish Music.
    The first tune here is "Castle Kelly's" followed by "Shehan's." Both of them are traditional Irish reels.

    I've always wondered why you always end your pieces with a sustained note. Is that traditional or preference?

      Good observation! Yes, it is pretty typical of this musical style. But, now I am going to be looking to see which ones don't, since you mentioned it!
