Both thumbs up for this one! Another interesting episode, again heartfelt and true Star Trek. The new (?) interior CGI backgrounds are really nice, the physical locations are nice as well, and I find the acting is good (meaning believable). Sam Cocking's CGI is outstanding as always and I've always loved your title theme. Thank you for putting so much love, time and work into this. I've been following Starship Intrepid for years and I'm looking forward to more films about Captain Hunter and his crew. You're an inspiration and proof that homemade Star Trek fan films are possible. You're not the first ones and not the only ones to prove this, but one of a very few groups that keep the First Contact era (which is my absolute favorite) alive. Yes, we have ST:Picard now as a sequel and it fills my heart with joy, J.L. Picard is really the man we used to know. However, it doesn't feel exactly like TNG (and it's not supposed to). So please keep up the good work and keep on trekking. Best Regards from the USS Atlas (a fan group from Germany)
It was super as was all of you, loved the story and it's portrayal, great job all, including behind the scenes and after filming beyond sight where it's put together by a crew, great job to all, thank you for your love of Star Trek and sharing it
I'm impressed with the question of the Vulcan Mind Meld between Solek and Taylor. It was both unexpected and had always been there in the background. From the standpoint of storytelling, you hit pay dirt, so to speak. I'm not advocating nor rejecting any life choices or storylines, just give me a good satisfying story arch with a logical, satisfying ending, without deus ex machina and I'll follow. Well done.
So far, loving the rebuilt bridge set. In fact, all your physical sets have improved in quality. I see that Navar's hair has changed length again, lol (what species is his character again?). When *aren't* the colonists at odds with Starfleet? Once again, you've made me wish I had such a group of friends to run around and play Star Trek with. Guess I'll have to stick to written fan fiction. By and by, I have always love the title sequence with the names appearing on the hull of the ship.
Very well done! Felt almost as if though I was watching a network episode. Interesting script - looking forward to seeing where this might lead. Great job combining the feel of TNG with hints of TOS.
Just watched it this morning and what a treat. :) Such a nice work from all of you equally front of and behind the camera. :) Looking forward to the next adventure _\\//
Aww, thanks so much. There’s a lot about this one I wish we’d done a better job with. But I still like the core story, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. :) If you check our other videos you’ll find a cut scene from a later story that we abandoned called ‘The Wedding.” You might enjoy that. :)
Phaser going off as the one who is firing it is falling. That's got to be a first. Bring up the volume on the opening titles. It sounds like a great enough score, it's just too quiet. I really miss this much attention to canon in Star Trek.
This one was very well-done indeed. It's a little odd (for me) that everyone has a Scottish accent. But, I suppose, it's not more absurd than everyone having an American Accent.
I think most of us are so used to American accents in media it seems like the default, so I do get the slight disconnect. We’ve tried to add a bit more variety in accents in more recent films. :) And thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. This film was a bit of a train wreck, production-wise, that it actually turned ended up with a mostly coherent narrative was a relief. :)
Capt. Hunter does not owe those colonists an apology. His speech at the end is pointless. He tried earning their trust, and all he got for his efforts was growing hostility. If those colonists want to stand on their own so much, Starfleet should leave and remind them they are on their own. If they want help in the future they should seek it elsewhere.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Nothing trumps a conversation, at least in the beginning." A failed conversation could lead to hostilities, but most races prefer to avoid shedding blood needlessly. Even the Klingons find no honor in mindless combat. They'll fight to protect their homes or honor or even expansion of their empire, but never just for the sake of it.
Everyone has a UK accent. Various British and Scottish ones. I am guessing that these fans are from the UK, but it reminds me a bit of Doctor Who...where everyone, including non-himanoids have UK accents. It is as if Star Fleet Academy was in London, instead of San Diego.
I DO SO LOVE THIS CREW, THERE ACCENTS MAKE ME HOMESICK, I TAKE IT THIS CREW IS MADE UP OF A U.K. CREW, WHICH WOULD ONLY DEEPEN MY LOVE!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS
The Romulan Warp part 1 is almost finished, its just finishing up its music. Ive done over 125 space VFX shots for it and in the mean time they have released quite a few audio dramas and shorts on their channel!
Excellent work. I have only 1, hopefully constructive, observation. I notice a tendency amongst many fellow Scots, when in what they perceive as some kind of ‘official’ situation (e.g. being in front of a camera), to over enunciate and try to hide their Scottish accent/diction. Or at least artificially ‘formalise’ it, as if they’re doing a reading from a page at church or something of that ilk. A couple of the actors here were doing it. Particularly, with words ending with ‘t’ they’ll pronounce a hard ‘t’ rather than the softer one that would occur naturally with their accent. I’d encourage those people to imagine how they’d say the lines in their own normal voice and stick fairly close to that - relax and embrace your Scottish lilt! Just a minor point and probably only noticeable to pedantic Scots like me! Honestly, a terrific job overall🙂
Hi. This was originally intended to lead into a 90 minute film, but for various reasons it became impractical. We do have another short film planned to wrap this plot up, but until the Covid lockdown relaxes enough to allow us to shoot again, that’s on hold. Hope that helps.
Very poorly done. you people seem to have missed the point on this one . in roddenberry's star trek obesity had been overcome. and all the star trek uniforms were from the same error. jackets and vest were always well kept nice and tight. not left open such as the fat man that beamed down to the planet in the uniform that clearly didn't fit. and why is the doctor running around in civilian clothes? did the replicator suddenly run out of uniforms? Why is there a space station drifting around the same planet that the crew is researching what is this an episode of babylon 5 or something? (yea that one thumbs down was from me.) on a scale of 1 to 10 I give your overall performance a minus ten.you people must be from that group of fans that didn't make the cut for the canadian based fans episodes.
Awe, look at you. The guy that hasn't made a single UA-cam video of his own, mocking someone else's work. But hey, glad to know no one cares about your useless opinions. Yup, hope you enjoy my thumbs down for your comment. 👎😁
Careful the nerds are restless. They only take kindly to fake praise. If you are honest and tell them what you really think about something they take it too seriously. They are unable to except the fact that other Star Trek fans will take the opportunity to watch anything Star Trek but expect it to be done a little better than this one was. When the uniforms don't fit and the so called "special effects" are nothing special, they don't like someone in their little world saying something about it. Too bad they don't put that energy into making a better product. See you guys in the funny pages. Bring on the hate.
Absolutely FANTASTIC! To all involved, great work and THANK YOU so much for sharing!!!! :)

I so very much enjoyed this, especially in these times. It's nice to know there is still people out there who care.

I've just binged all the episodes you guys have done and love them. Nice to see some connections to Hidden Frontier. Hope you guys will be doing more!
A ship full of Scotties lol. Good stuff ☺️
Aye!
Very well done. Real Star Trek.

Wonderful work, like any Intrepid production. It's clear to see how this has benefitted from your years of experience in making fan films.
no alien mosquitoes were injured in the making of this film
Great episode!
Another fine episode ... Cheers! Insects will always be a concern when we begin to visit planets with atmospheres!
Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it. :)
Looking awesome!! Great sets, uniforms and starship models (loved the Akira!). Was the big colonist fellow wearing a repurposed gold VOY uniform??
I wanted to add the Akira...just a fun Easter egg ship! :D
Cracking stuff -- more please
Very well done!
Thank you!
A excellent fan made ST show
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it.
Thought provoking. Tip of the hat to Intrepid and crew.
What, no kiss at the end? Would've been cool. Even so, loved this!!

Not bad. The special effects were pretty good and I liked the tribble on the Vulcans head.
Thanks! Also lol at the tribble comment. :)

I know how I'm spending my Saturday night 🖖
Well done
A starship with such a fine Irish crew couldn't have a better name than the Intrepid
Scottish, but yes. :)
@@StarShipIntrepid my mistake. My hearing isn't what it used to be and my Irish pride got the better of me.
You've knocked it out the park once agai6 thx you
Good stuff
good show
Love
WOULD BE GREAT AS A SERIES OF THE SAME LENGTH OF THE SERIES LIKE THE NEXT GENERATION

For some unknown reason the audio and video are not in sync
Sorry about that. This doesn’t appear to be a problem with the video so it might be a streaming issue. Hopefully it’s not too distracting.
Is the Hawaiian shirt doc based off of scotty. I feel like he is
He was actually a bit of an homage to Hawkeye from MASH. :)
Aye well, I Hink they're a wee bit scottish😂😂
Not all, but most. ;)
Good very good 👍
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. :)
I DO SO LOVE THIS CREW, THERE ACCENTS MAKE ME HOMESICK, I TAKE IT THIS CREW IS MADE UP OF A U.K. CREW, WHICH WOULD ONLY DEEPEN MY LOVE!!GARY BAILEY KING OF DARKNESS
We’re all based in Scotland. :)
What happened to the rest of Star Trek the Romulan Wars fan film they just disappeared!
So CBS brought in fanfilm rules a while back. :(
Possible that it killed the projects
The Romulan Warp part 1 is almost finished, its just finishing up its music. Ive done over 125 space VFX shots for it and in the mean time they have released quite a few audio dramas and shorts on their channel!
MORE MAKE-UP NEEDS TO BE APPLIED TO THE REAL EAR OF THE VULCAN/ ROMULAN EAR'S TO MATCH THE COLOUR OF THE SKIN. LOVE THE TECHNOLOGY

5:27 I wish he’d dab his chin with baby powder. That tattoo is SO black it’s distracting. THANKS for this series!
Thanks for watching. We eventually ditch the tattoo, though we haven’t released that film yet. :)
WHY CAN'T THIS BE A PROPER SERIES AND THE VULCAN, TO ROMULAN EAR'S NEED TO BE COVERED WHERE THE FAKE PART CONNECTS WITH THE REAL EAR.
Where is the end of it?

@@StarShipIntrepid Thank you and good luck with your film.
Thank you. :)
Is this the Scottish star trek?
More or less. ;)
Is this Scottish family film I'm just guessing because of the accents spoken
For a fan film it is great but the acting needs more work the vioces of the characters just to hmmm
I'm gonna be honest. I wouldn't feel safe about a Scottish Doctor.
I hope that’s a joke? We have many talented and capable doctors in Scotland.
@@StarShipIntrepid I'm from the Dixie South. The same joke is made about our Dr.s.

Not sure why you bother watching as you obviously didn't like the others either. Also, don't see the need to be so rude.
