Jesus, man! Where are all of the views this masterpiece deserves? This tune is brilliantly conceived, arranged, and performed by an ensemble of masters. Lee was 23, had conquered heroin addiction and now had two more hit albums (The Sidewinder, The Rumproller) and more importantly, his skills and reputation back in full force. Bold title cut, great tunes throughout this great album.
My opinion, this is one of the top 10 Jazz albums of all time. It captures both the hard bop hot groove, and the with the title track, Lee is paving the way for the kind of Ambient Jazz that Miles Davis solidified with "Bitches Brew" and "In A Silent Way". Lee was both a pioneer and a traditionalist, and a much under-rated composer. When he teams up with Wayne Shorter, wonderful music always happens. This ensemble is truly unique. Thanks!
Love it... mellows me out

Curt Rayvis I agree ... And if you would be so kind as to suggest other greats I would be so grateful...
