    This was such a KILLER build vid Brother Dennis 😱!!! Just watched on the big screen with my wife. She commented how "professional" it looked with "quite the setup" 👌. Fantastic job sharing the tricks, issues, logic, and gram weights of each upgrade. I shared it with my buddy Dan who has a Dbxle 2.0 and he went right to watching 👀. Know it took a ton of work to do Brother, but this was masterful and will help tons of guys in our hobby. Great stuff my friend you nailed it!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊

      Would you do anything different if you had to rebuild it again? How’s it holding up? And would you do 8s or 12s?

    • @3SonsRC
      @3SonsRC  6 місяців тому +1

      @@mikeguzmansr well I know I'm likely to need 12s or at least more power 8s esc Max5 v2.
      I know this sounds terrible but I've been so busy I haven't run it after all the mods. My father also passed few weeks ago so I've been lacking the motivation.
      I've lined up a big tire test with it:
      AKILL Spikes
      Method RC Teraforma
      Maybe new model Method RC?
      Some Nobbies from TIT Racing
      Should be fun showing the driving characteristics.
      But I wouldn't change any of the strength upgrade decisions but fair enough it's not been run😔

    6 months later and I don't see a video of this beast yet! I wanna see this monster hit some jumps. NIce build. These rigs are notorious for being cool looking but super easy to break. I'm wondering with all that added weight how it holds up. I'd do the same build if I had one. I wanna see some stress testing asap.

      Sorry bud.. I so want to, but I have been working like 60-70hr a week plus. And my town of Augusta just got practically destroyed by a hurricane 😳
      But I should be upgrading all my ESC's to Max5 v2 within the next 30 days, there's only a Firma 160 in there now and she deserves more💪💪
      Trust brother when I do it it will be great.....at least what I think is great 😜
      I got Akill spikes, Mad Maxx Nobbies, Method Geoform/Teraforma, and MX43's to compare handling. Just talking about it gets me motivated but I have too many rigs so I get detracted easily (Squirrel ➡️) and there's no power in my city till the 5th at least.... Well at least those are my excuses 😳😔😔😭
      For real the devistation is insane!
      But hang tight buddy, hope you enjoy my other vids in the meantime.
      I got a Kraton 6s/8s video coming soon that's 90% edited.... One of my best videos yet I think.

Or might drop the G2 in my 30N build and put the max 5 in here as the 30N is bigger🤔 kinda upgrade poor at the moment so just gonna rock some fans and see how she does on a 19T.....I'm sure that's too much for the stock system 🤣😂 but with good fans running off 4s balance we will see.

But I have done something very similar on my 30 Degree N build video you can check that video, I have Bashed it pretty good and they hold up well. With a bad hit the plastic ends might bust at one end but there designed to do that as a break away part to save the chassis. There easily replaced.Will eventually get this one out and do a big tire test on it, got like 5 options I'm gonna compare.

    • @3SonsRC

      @@johnmiller4553 I think it was brushed on so it's pretty thick, couple spots it's scraped off maybe from a big rock but for the most parts it's good... I might have some touch up paint on hand to rough it up occasionally but it shouldn't be too often seems pretty flexable, maybe it's the type of paint he used. Seems thick and flexable, not easy to scrape off.

      What's up brother.... Thanks for your time and comment!
      For the 30 N I used two of the Outcast ones screwed into each other in the back to reach that distance.... With Carbon Fiber tubing over.... I show it a little better in that video. But not sure which lengths I used combined in the rear.... If you buy the Outcast 8s set (Jenny's RC) you will see two match up perfect.... Then a shorter one in the front just like I did here on the Dbxle but on the 30 N it actually matched up better.
      Hope your enjoying the channel brother.

    The front kraton brace is 114mm. Whats the length of the rear? They have 164mm 211, 240, and 443mm?

    • @3SonsRC
      @3SonsRC  6 місяців тому +1

      I just bought the whole set so I'm not sure. Pretty sure it's the longest one for the Kraton.
      If I'm not mistaken it was a tad too long (where I attached it) and I had to cut about 1/8th off🤔 and then I re-threaded the brace with a kit I have.

    • @3SonsRC
      @3SonsRC  3 місяці тому +1

      The ADU Center diff cover comes with a 3d printed cover for the Spur, the pinion is still exposed but that's not a big deal IMHO, plenty of rigs are like this, every Arrma rig, it's fine.

    Holy guacamole Batman you talk FAST... I had to double check and make sure I wasn't watching at 2x speed when you were talking... This stuff all looks cool... But I really think it's all a waste of money tbh... You're just making stuff too rigid which just moves the weakest point around. It doesn't get rid of it. I had a bunch of aluminum stuff on my Kraton and I hated it. Instead of the hit being absorbed by the flex or maybe breaking a cheap plastic arm. I bent my whole expensive aluminum chassis plate... After that I took it all off. I had a good couple hundred dollars worth of stuff. It looked AWESOME. I had a bunch of blue anodized stuff. But the rigidity really didn't do what you'd expect it to do. If anything. It did the opposite...

    • @3SonsRC
      @3SonsRC  3 місяці тому +1

      I hear ya on the speed of video. Many times in this video I had to speed it up 10-20% or it would have been a 40 minute video😳
      About the beefcake parts.... Every rig is different (especially these 1/5 scale rigs) .... Whole other world than 1/8th scale. and sometimes it makes sense and depends on what parts.
      This is a big rig and the chassis is not strong and bends easily. So that's why the chassis reinforcement. I have done this with other big rigs and it has saved the chassis on my Losi 5ive T for example.... So it works in some places. Metal A Arms DEFINITELY NOT a good idea, and you definitely want to have flex in the places that can have impact, arms, bumpers. You want most of the flex around the outer extremities of the RC where the impact will need to be absorbed upon a crash and as you move closer into the chassis more stiffening is needed for the chassis and bulkhead areas because the gears and those types of things need to be held stable. The one place I'm concerned about with this build is that I have metal turn buckles and steering links WITH plastic arms, so the arms will give bit the other parts by the arm won't. We will see, most dudes do the same I did here with no problems because the arms still flex.
      I understand all you said about impact moving to the weakest point and I only add strength where it makes sense.
      There is still some slight flex to the chassis even with the braces, the arms and bumpers flex as does the roll CAGE.
      When I first got this RC I bent the chassis with light bashing small jumps. I don't need it to be M2Cified like my Arrma rigs, I'm not planning to go big like indo in those videos.... But I don't trust myself, I will send er at times so this amount of strengthening was need for what I do. Sure if I was just interested in ripping around a field or keeping the tires in the ground most of the time with small jumps sure I'd be fine mostly stock. But I get a little silly if you watch my other videos.
      Really appreciate your time and comment.... Hope you are enjoying the channel, see ya round brother
