I was in the marine corps. All we did was get drunk. One time my buddy from Michigan set up an archery range in the main corridor. That didn’t go over well with inspection.... neither did the blow up dolls hanging from the drop down ceiling. All vets no how to party and that’s why we always get along with a beer in our hands.

I was AF and saw ALL of these creatures in the dorm😏. I, personally was medic, barber and cook. I lived across the hall from the homeless guy, and there were just tons of the others.😅 I went into the room of a SSgt who had a laundry system where dirtiest were closest to the wall locker and cleanest were farthest from it. I saw a pizza box in his fridge and thought, "Cool! Pizza!" There wasn't so much as a bite of crust in it. I asked why there was an empty box in the fridge. He said (I $h!+ you not), "It wouldn't fit in my trash can." Now, this SSgt had a room NEXT to the door near the dumpster🙄🤣.
I knew ALL these magical creatures in the AF dorm... except one. I WAS the barber😂😂😂. I was a female in the hospital squadron but had S.P.s coming for quick hair cuts , cuz they blew off getting to the real barber and it's time for great inspection. The funny one was the Captain RN that insisted I cut her hair... because she had a WEDDING to go to the next day. 😳🤣. The other guys bring a trimmer and hair cutting set. She just made me use the scissors with bandage tape goo all over them.

You can go up in enlisted rank to Sgt Major of the Army and STILL have to salute some young snot-nosed OCS butterbar and obey their orders. So Matt Thomas should ignore age if he wants to join and not let it be a factor. I did Infantry School with a 36 yr old guy (prior service) and served with another 36 yr old prior service PVT ("Pops") at my regular duty station. If Matt intends seriously to join, he had best do it sooner rather than later. The older you are the tougher the training is unless you're in great shape, especially if you're Infantry.
Barracks Party! Also... I was "the Chef" Stationed in Beaufort, SC - MCAS. Had a buddy who was a deck hand for shrimp and fishing boats. He had a problem. Beaufort didn't sell liquour off base on weekends and weekdays after 6pm. Basically, the liquor store was never open when he was off work and was stuck buying drinks at the bar - which had a mini bottle law. Bunch of us chipped in to buy him bottles of Crown in trade for TONS of what ever they caught that week. Most shrimp. We had some crazy BarBques at the barracks.
