10 Types of Reservist in the Army!

- The Army Reserves will always have a special place in my heart. I joined Reserves in ’05 for like 8 months then decided to go Active in ’06 then back to the Reserves in ’11. In the end, anything I have to say here I say it with a dose of love and a throat punch of reality.

#16 The badass reservist who's unit deploys more than any active duty unit.
EXQD2 How about damn near the whole battalion?
EXQD2 Funny because my reserve unit deploys more than the active duty units on my base lol
There's reservists who do that?
Jiacheng Yao Most reserve units now deploy more often than the active duty counterpart unit, yes.
Psy-op is notorious for this
actually I am glad I left active duty for the guard. the Army is changing for the worse and I am glad I only have to put up with it 1 weekend a month.
I know that feel. I'm in this for the deployments, the training, and the free shit, not so I can police call the parking lot at 4 AM.
@@killerkirbydude or mop the sidewalks
I remember on a training ex before a corporal asking me how do you guys enjoy this shit? That depressing look on his face
Same bro. Less bullshit and less dumbass details from sgtmajor
my biggest mistake was after getting out not joining the reserves for the retirement. I make a lot of money at my current job, but I do miss some parts of the military. miss the family atmosphere, none of that exists in the civy world.
+Reservist epitome I agree. Don't let the civilian life suck the soul out of you, because it is very possible for that to happen. It almost happened to me, luckily I live a happy life with my wife, my two jobs (for now), and also having the deal of a lifetime: going to school for absolutely free.
Yup I am switching back into active duty asap. I like the Guard and my unit is awsome, but I cannot stand the civilian life. It has been impossible to find a job, I have had to settle for cooking at a casino, and it seems most civilians (not all) are complete morons. The only plus side is I am going to community college payed for by Uncle Sam, but everyone they're is a complete idiot to and I am not studying anything useful lol. I just jhope my commander signs off on the conditional realese.
Agree as a civilian (with a now master degree and over ten years of kitchen jobs feeding the public) that yes most civilians are complete morons.
All this talk about kitchen jobs. Hasn't anyone here heard of a "factory"? I'm a civilian with nothing more than a high school diploma working at a factory and I'm set to make $62,000 this year. I just don't get it.
If you hate that, you would hate going to high school again. Do you have any non generic tips for joining? I'm not looking for "keep your grades up", is what I mean.
You missed the reservist who has deployed 9 times and talks shit on active duty guys. He has all the problems of active duty with even less of the support because he is volunteering to deploy with any unit so he can avoid to face the fact his life is meaningless and directionless.
Gd
Sounds like someone I know.....
9 Times to a super fob with climate controlled hooches and wifi.
I don't like you talking about me..
If they deployed more than active than thats that. My reserve unit has thier shit together more than my last when active. Depends on the group.
I laughed so much. Spent 9 years in the reserves, met all these guys. There are some good ones, but let's be honest. Unless your gearing up for deployment, drill is kinda a joke, the AGR does their thing, the senior NCO's do their, and leaves a few e5s and long time e4s to try and make it as productive as possible with zero instruction or training supplies. If your in the reserves now and want to get out of doing some bull shit task, get a note book and walk around the drill hall with it open, walk with a purpose like your looking for someone. Everyone will leave you alone all day.
I've done the clipboard trick a few times, I was just drawing and writing random shit. Good times...
@@hyenapeacekeeper2220 What no one uses isolated cubees to sleep??? XD
Once met a 56 year old specialist in the guard, godfather of the E4 mafia y’all, respect
ive seen! i thought he was a SGM until i saw the sham shield on his chest
I was in 3rd ID and I carried my keys on my belt loop. No one even knew they were their until I took them off to open something, I had 4, 1.5 inch key rings on my carabiner each filled with key to all the things I had to have access to. The SGM for the battalion knew I always had it on me, but he also knew that I was the only one that never had to have a lock cut or have to wait for someone from key control to open a door because they lost the key.
This guy uses more hand gestures than Donald Trump
Let me put on my conspiracy cover ... THEY MUST BE RELATED!!???!!!!
it's called the knife hand.
I only come here for the hand gesture sounds.....
And bernie
Maybe, but this guy is a lot more fun than Trump!
I was in the reserves while in college and then active duty after that as an officer. This was very funny to watch as you hit the nail right on the head!
NATIONAL GUARD JOKE GOT MY DYING IM A 11 BRAVO FOR THE GUARD 😂😂
I once didnt goto drill for 11 months showed up and they was like hey welcome back the whole kicked out for not showing up the "U" points is bs in my unit
We had an old guy in our unit. All he had to do is show up with his identification card to the P.T. test and he passed.
😅😅
Number 15 is so true lol, I've got to the point in my reservist career that I appreciate my reservist service and don't even think about active duty anymore. I'm set, civilian career wise, university, and with the reserves. I think you should add another onto the list (i'm not in the Army, but in the Marine Reserves) and that is the guy who is counting down the days until he finishes his reserve contract mandatory service. Or the guy who shows up with no/crap hair cut. Or the guy who calls his squad leader saying, "cpl/sgt my Marine forgot he had drill today so he woke up late and he's 40 minutes out", or the guy who always is TNPQ/NPQ (injured/not physically qualified) and you wonder how he's still with the unit, or the new join who is super motivated like he's about to deploy tomorrow and still smells like bootcamp chow hall food. LOL, I have so many of them I can go on forever hahaha.
i like how he says "America" at the beginning of every vid
I was in the reserves (Transportation Company) from 1996 to 2002, took a break and went to the Guards (MPs) 2004 to 2010
Started at a 66J but they phased it out and had to re-classed as a 63B
My best time was with the Reserves.
I remember I had to SUTA one of my Drills which happened to fall on a drill where they did a P.T Test.
When I went to make it up, my Motor Sergent takes me out for breakfast, pulls out a PT scorecard and is like, "How many pushups shall we say you did...."
During one AT there was some sort of miscommunication about chow. Long Story short - Me along with 12 other soldiers didn't get to the Chow hall before it closed. I figured they'd do a McDonalds run or something or at the very least give us MREs. Nope... the First Sergent takes us all 13 of us to a dine in restaurant.
I was on guard duty (AT again) at night and almost dozed off until one of our vehicles came to the gate. Startled I threw my helmet on backwards and ran towards the truck only to run right into concertina wire. I never heard the end of it :)
Great times.
Captain Obvious wtf
Your videos have helped me get through post deployment. They are hilarious. It's a relief. Thank you! Thank you!
I LOVE this dude. Man only if we had social media when I was on Active duty. I would not have gotten an Honorable discharge.
Not all reservists are POGs and NO not only does the National Guard have infantry. The US Army Reserve has 1 infantry unit which is the 100th Battalion 442d Infantry. It is the only Infantry unit in the army reserve that wasn't disbanded due to its rich history. Nicknamed the Purple Heart battalion the 100th is the Most decorated unit in the United States armed forces.
The reserves also has several infantry Drill Sergeant units. “Doesn’t count” though apparently.
@@DeltaHouseStudios I'm in one of those drill sgt units. Unfortunately, 11b only takes you to e6. After that you either have to reclass, go NG, or ocs.
Keith Geyer Yep. You can get to 7 and 8 as an 11B in the reserves, but it takes a looong time and it’s highly competitive since there’s like less than 40 or so 7 and 8 11B positions in the entire USAR. The guys I work with spent a good chunk of their careers as 6s like you said.
haha when you work at marshalls and are in the national guard
The Marine Corps Reserve is the same way. Especially coming from AD to the Dark side. 😆
I'm glad you did an extra 5. Good to break free once in a while. And sometimes, 10 just isn't enough.
You forgot one. Never went active duty, but more professional and on top of it more than the guys coming off active duty.
"They're all POGs... Everyone of them, they're POGs."
You should do a ten types of NG soldiers
He basically did.
Its the exact same.
"10 types of reservists with better funding"
Differences they have infantry and combat arms mos.
@@williamsimmons2864 😂 that's hilarious
served active and reserve. I sure get a Good laugh on the video. I never regret any second of it I really missed
this is where truth and comedy meet. i have seen all these guys in the reserves.
When I started in the Guard in the 80s there were quite a few Vietnam vets. Now THAT was something.
Not all AGR's are as described. Some spend the remaining 28 days of the month setting up the unit for successful training. It is very challenging to maintain good order and discipline not to mention PT/height and weight standards when you supervise Joe for only 16 Hours a month.
Also, those AGRs are taking care of all those Additional Duties that the TPUs are assigned to.
I taught E6 AGRs how to do there MOS... as a E4.
Joshua Gray "their"
* as AN e-4
FACT!
Forgot about the split op guys... The ones who was told in high school to join the reserves and after basic the could switch over to active.
Ha-ha.....very funny list. I left active duty in 1990 after spending 3 years in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg. Before I ETS'ed, the re-enlistment NCO talked me into joining a local Military Police company to finish out my service obligation time. The first weekend drill I went to, turned out to be a 3-day overnight exercise at a National Guard training base in West Va. (Camp Dawson, if anyone knows of it). On the bus ride down from Pennsylvania, one of the reservists got caught smoking marijuana on a rest stop break. That's when I knew being a weekend warrior wasn't for me.
How about a video of the funniest outtakes.
Thatd be awsome
dude you forgot the geardo whos a private soo hooah he thinks hes active but hes a weekend warrior and he makes you sick with all his selfies in pts at the gym
Reserves sucks, you get shit on by your employer when you have to go to drill and then you have to listen to some jerk off on how is better than you because he is active duty. Pretty much you spend the whole weekend being treated like a POS to go back to work Monday morning with a pissed off boss because you are behind on your regular job. No win situation. Oh and that two weeks of vacation you get from your employer every year....take a guess when you have to use it.
+Michael Langston That's when you give your boss the middle finger by applying for ADOS to do the entire field op instead of just 2 weeks.
Michael Langston bro this shit is happening to me now!
Michael Langston ,,,,and do absolutely nothing during drill.
Nailed It! When he stopped at ten I’m like wait there has to be more
No shave profile saved me alot of money!
Good ones! I was active and Reserves. All true
You forgot to mention the scammers. The ones that just walk around looking like there busy and disappears for hours. Its definitely an art form.
How about 10 types of Gov. Contractors?
Robert Maughan are there more than 1 or 2 types?
@@staceyhaworth7875 No. Mr. Maughan has forgotten to take his prescribed medication. There are *no* government contractors.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
But you forgot #16 "The I Know When UA's are coming, so I don't smoke 2 weeks before drill..." - Love Num Num
I gotta get out of the fucking reserves.
Havoctheend how do you go about doing that?
Havoctheend for active duty.
Come back and reenlist but then you have to go back up to MEPS
Havoctheend ,,both of us
Start a DD 368 with the recruiter.
Spot on! I was active duty @ Fort Campbell, then I get out and go to the Army National Guard and am assigned to Burbank, California. 🤦♂️🤣😂
number 12 was spot on ha, good shit
Yo, your videos crack me up that's why I bookmark 'em in my, "I need a good laugh" section.
Coming from Reserves to active, I was told during the whole process by people in my unit, "Yeah, I tried for that but my DD 368 ran out," or "I want to put my packet in for SGT first," or even better like you said, "I probably wouldn't be able to keep up." If you're wanting to go active duty, all it takes is a high GT score or for your MOS to be open for pick ups. Airborne helps and you might have to reclass, but it will definitely be a more rewarding job with more opportunities.
You have some of the funniest videos on the internet
These videos are hilarious. For those that don't know, there is 1 last infantry reserve battalion left. It's the 100th bn 442nd Inf.
Joined ARNG as a 31B. Going to get my degree and get ready for a career in law enforcement.
Im addicted to this channel
I’m just in the reserves for my medical experience to go along with my major. Shiiiittt you’ll catch me as an officer soon tho😂
This is pretty funny. Especially the part where an MP is calling reservists "POG".
I served with guys with 4 and 7 deployments. I was gung ho and wanted to be deployed. Had I graduated AIT 4 weeks earlier I would of gone, then Volunteer list came up 3 different times in 3 years. I was fresh out of basic and wanted to go. First batch didn't get enough people to go, second there were an abundance, and third time got canceled for unknown reasons. I only had a 3 year contract and when they tried to get me to re-up I laughed. My recruiter tried getting me to go active but my wife... I mean ex wife...Didn't want to move away from family. Should of went active, I've said it a million times, and I'll still be saying it for years to come.
OMG you are so funny. I really enjoy your videos! Thank you!
One of the Senior Master Sergeants I was deployed with worked as a Kroger chain manager in Vermont. He called in his Technical Sergeants and straight up said "Guys, I have no idea what I'm doing."
I really liked 12 and 14. I had a really good time in both the reserve and on active duty. My biggest fuck up was, I was a reserve first, then I went active. I should've done all my active duty time on the front end and then chilled out with the reserve. After 3 years in Iraq and Afghanistan, some reserve time would have been amazing.
We in Finland have conscription and therefore a reserve army. About 900 000 men strong and alot of artillery!
We got a army reserve who went active duty into our infantry company . He had to be trained disciplined and not to mention whipped into shape pt killed this guy. After about 3 months he was regular army lol
I enjoy your your videos bro and some incidences it brings back memories especially talk about a guy 10 years in the service we had a guy in the unit that was prior service got out came back in after a couple years lost some rank then was enlisted back in as an e-4 , although my date of rank of E4 did actually out did him like 18 months but the unit was making him team leader I can understand that especially being prior service but being the whole E4 E4 thing especially corporal, it really does cause tensions in the unit I was in coming from a different unit from the the calvary 2A support unit for military police Fort Carson they had corporals was all ready for when I got there then I was asked to be the unit armor then was training under a sergeant to become the training nco , I wasn't cleared medically to deployed to Afghanistan but I had a tour in Iraq these other guy been talking about goes down range they pin Corporal on him comes back comes back as a total. Ass
whut
I lost my fucking shit when I realized how much he points with his left hand lmao
In my unit we used to show up to the pt test and just write our own numbers in whatever we needed to pass if there was less than 10 people and there were no brass to witness it
Theres a guy in my guard unit that introduces himself like this: "Hi Im a Cavscout and ran an 11:30 2 mile"
The WORST problem in the Reserves and NG is... The Pt and Ht Wt standards are twice a year... I did the "JUST IN TIME TRAINING" and passed for 20 years and I now have health issues and knee problems... Time slow walked me down.
Combat Veteraaaaaaaannn. Never gets old.
Numebr Whatever : The Story Teller. A Specialist who apparently has been more places and seen more shit than the rest of the unit combined. No matter what topic you bring up, he always has a story pertaining to him about it.
"Should've joined the ARNG, they got infantry!"
#16 Big Ol' E-4.... And I've seen this in every Reserve Unit I've been to. An overweight E-4 who can't pass H/W/Apft to save his life (Or his Battle's), but he is fucking phenomenal at his job, whether mechanic or otherwise (typically mechanic). Has anyone else found this?
I was never in the service but this is funny as hell. I only get along with veterans.
I most definitely hit no show joe due to my job, and its pretty funny I really only two guys there.-- And they know me. lol
He should do national guard. A lot of them are coming from different branch
I've seen all those guys in the active too. Lol
16: college students
The only ones allowed to have a keychain like that are armorers, and most of them won't have that many keys.
This marching song is soo in my head. Haha 🤣
Did ROTC and commissioned. Wanted to go Active Duty, but with current budget cuts I didn't make the cutoff. Really, really want to still go Active Duty.
This guy really loves pointing with his left hand
Drinking game: Take a shot every time he points
Or there's a swish-sound when he gestures. ☺
LMAO! Loved it just wish you would have added one for dual status or MIL-TECH
missed the "we're you active duty" lol
Love your vids bro, keep it up
He is absolutely correct here! 😎
I see you're back on UA-cam
Shoot I’m 15 but because I didn’t realize how long it would take to go active duty sense I did reserves as a split op
How? You have to be 17. I just enlisted as a reservist 11/15/2019 until I finish highschool.
Mason Jackson number 15 in the video
See, I'm just a dummy
Back in the late '80s, I saw a Reservist in the chow hall line wearing his Walkman headphones for Christ sake! Then one of my NCO saw a Reservist wearing his name tag and U.S. Army plate on the opposite side of his BDU. His excuse was that his wife sewed it wrongly before coming for his summer drill.
Yours videos are hilarious you should upload twice awake
My units war horse is not a day younger than 55 and just got promoted to specialist.
My last department manager at Lowes was a 9--a very difficult individual to be around (army reserves and had been deployed twice).
Battlefield got the spotting pointing animation from this guy.
I had a company commander in the reserves, had a uniform inspection, I was missing a button on my class A's and either both the commander and 1SGT both missed it, or they just didn't care. I had to be the only one that knew what starch and an iron were!! I had a section sgt that was a SGM, this was in 2002, he was literally a veitnam vet, his combat patch was 3rd Army from nam, he was great, but still was a fukn soup sandwich.
I'm planing on doing reserve through college than switching to active after
You should do skit on army reservists training. Haha, we all know they sit on there butts, and eat catered food.
I was in the NG, and I was number 16- the smoke breaker. I probably spent 75 percent of my drill weekends in the smoke pit outside the motor pool burning through reds like they were nothing.
ssgsorrels 😂😂 why tho
smash shearer cause the only reliable way to get a break was to ask for a smoke break, since so many people in my unit smoked, everyone kinda understood the need, and once I got to the smoke pit, I could spend hours out there since I was a 92y in a transportation unit, and no one really realized I ran off for a while. By the time they realized I'd been gone way to long, whatever task they wanted me to do was finished
ahhh i see. kind of like some warrant officers they take inventory a lot too. lots of time on their hands.
smash shearer exactly. Lots of recording and re recording inventory. Especially in a transportation unit. Not a lot of crazy gear gets supplied to NG truck drivers.
my OPFOR tank company back in the mid 80s had 2 awards after every rotation. a dickhead award and a double dong award. we had certificates printed up, the whole 9 yards.
LOL, I wasn't in the military but I work with a reservist and when his XO (I think that's right, don't flame me) came in and asked "Does he work here?" my response. "Yes, how do you get him to do stuff?" His response, "I yell at him...alot." He's an 11
Went NG after active duty. This was still hilarious though.
I don't get it I've been AD Army for 6 years now transitioning to National Guard whats so fucking great about AD Army besides the camaraderie?
The worst sh*tbag you had in your unit on AD will be more squared away than the best troop in your NG unit. You have my condolences. You will be regretting your decision to transfer as soon as you begin to inprocess, which will take the AGRs no less than 3 months to finish so you can get paid.
AHHH HE KEEPS POINTING HIS FINGERS LIKE THE DI HE TALKED ABOUT
You should do the 10 type of wannabe in Army
The only thing I'd add to that is the fact that you can't step out and go active duty that easy. You made it sound as if you can just go between the two at will and that is not the case!
The Regular. Sounds about right.
Wow you nailed the regular. Which is me lol.
at the end of 12. why i got a feeling that would be me coming out of active... for usmc
+Humza Sheikh go to 6th ANGLOCO in san fran, best Reserve unit ive seen in my 6 years. for the love dont come to 6th comm
