Wow. I reckon that each and every horse whose pedicures you do, feel like they've been pampered at a boutique. This is really something therapeutic to wastch. Respect from 🇿🇦
You can tell you love your work, but more importantly you have love for the horses. I am.glad you are in your trade to give health and happiness to creatures who deserve so much respect and care. I hope you also receive the respect and care you deserve.
Night and day difference!!! That horse will walk so proud and comfortably!!! How about a video of all 4 shoes being done??? Your videos are very calming... thank you!
I dont know a damn thing about horses but that, Sir, was a work of art. Cannot imagine how many shoes youve made to make it look so effortless. Tip o' the hat.
One of the best videos I've ever seen. Getting in real close with the camera shows a lot of detail that I haven't seen with other videos. If I was a student this video would have to be seen over and over. Thank you, Rick in east TN.
Never saw a farrier make a shoe before. That's a legit professional skill right there wow. Look how good it came out! You really know what you’re doing. Hope they paid you well. Great job 👍🐎
I don't know anything about horses other than what I've seen on UA-cam videos but what I like best about your trims is that you don't overdo it on the frog. Not trimming this one at all because of the shape and health was very interesting to see.
That some really nice looking work and great job on the iron work instead of buying pre fabs. Lots of work to shoe a big horse. I'm in Idaho but there's hardly any horses in this county.
That is a SPECTACULAR, TEXTBOOK FROG. Unusual to see such a robust, intact frog in a foot so overdue for the farrier; it’s health reflects on the horse’s general health. There’s an old saying: ‘No foot, no horse.’ The frog provides traction AND because it is made of spongier, compressible tissue, helps pumping deoxygenated blood back up the leg. Amazing!
You're absolutely right..... Good evening S McCaskill how are you doing over there hope you're having a wonderful day a lovely day that the lord has made.
I love westerns. I understand from this video that there was not only the colt of vital for the cowboy but his horse was surely also precious to him. Thanks
@@janicesanderson3310 I mean my farrier charges $50 bucks a trim and that’s considered cheap. 🤷♀️ core exercises don’t do anything for my case unfortunately so I have to keep going to PT

I know the hot shoe doesn't hurt the horse, but it sure is wicked looking! And I can only imagine the smell. But I bet the horse sure feels better after it's pedicure!
Ya I was thinking burning hair It’s an amazing process Iv been a dairy farmer in Ireland all my life but never involved in horses but I’m definitely addicted to the farrier video 100% respect to you and thanks for replying to me 👍👍👍👍😎
They only hold it on for a few seconds to get the impression onto the hoof for where the shoe will go. Think of it like a big, thick toenail. If they were to hold it on too long, the heat would transfer up the horses hoof and into the part with blood vessels and nerves that can feel pain. That's why they are careful to only do it for a couple seconds. If you burn the horses foot, I promise they will let you know.
Really?? How about saying thank you for sharing this with us instead of demanding more! Or, better yet, make your own video showing how you shoe all four feet of a horse...cant can ya? So show a bit of appreciation next time.
Love the draft horses, we had 2 of the giants at work. When the 50 stockhorses would take off running 5 minutes latter the draft horse would come plodding past..
If the frog is at the same level of the horseshoe, and don't touch the ground is ok,otherwise it risk to be hardly in contact with it and could be dammaged by time causing a sort of lame.
I believe that the frog is the horse's natural shock absorber as he walks/trots along. It's the first part of his foot to touch the ground. Looked really healthy and will keep replenishing itself as it wares.
I'm not a horse person. I know hardly anything about them, but I love watching farriers ply their trade. Watching them work bent over like that makes my back hurt. I hope their backs are OK.
Looks great. Hope the other three got reset too. That shoe was wasn't thick enough for the horse you removed and there appears to be some separation and thinning happening. Appreciate the care given. Was that a Friesian? Thanks for sharing
I can't imagine how long it takes to make 4 massive shoes..
Thank you for sharing. Your school is doing phenomenal work.

Absolutely fabulous. I want to thank you for helping this animal.
I just noticed your magnetic wrist band for holding the nails a clever hack great video and super skill

Very Very good Job congratulations the horse Will bê Glad
That before and after is night and day. Awesome awesome work.
An expert at work and a tough one. A lot of farriers won’t touch a draft horse
Amazed at all the tool innovations in the farrier tools!
Love the care and dedication you show in your vids. Love your work.
Thank you for comforting his hooves, they looked horrible..bless your heart..❣️
Handsome horse. Percheron? That was the best frog I've seen on a draft horse and most of the others too
Those are the coolest tools. The wrist band holding the nails now thats pretty smart. The hoof shine is a nice finishing touch.👀
Beautiful job, beautiful horse ❤️
True craftsman 🥇
Only 2 things I want in life:
1. Them to wear eye protection
2. Their secret to how their backs are made of steel bc mine gave out just watching this
It's because they weren't wearing eye protection. Because of this, their upper body doesn't have to hold the staggering weight of safety glasses.
Every time I wear safety glasses I get something in my eye. I am not kidding either

Ya good points but I wonder what that smoke must smell like the skill is super and the trust between the horse and farrier is the same 😎
Smells a bit like burning hair. The “hard” part of the hoof is mostly keratin, like hair or fingernails (kind of.)

You have to ask only to the horse, wheather you are feeling comfortable
They only hold it on for a few seconds to get the impression onto the hoof for where the shoe will go. Think of it like a big, thick toenail. If they were to hold it on too long, the heat would transfer up the horses hoof and into the part with blood vessels and nerves that can feel pain. I will never understand how you can eyeball the shape of a hoof and make the shoe fit its contour. Totally amazing.
not all done by eyeball ,measure widest part of the foot and your halfway there
Напильником в кінці підганяють
Yes it is amazing .
There's a lot of years of practice in that skill.
Go back and watch the video. He measured and did layout on the steel bar before he put heat to it
