Perreault was 4th and was a very versatile horse who won major turf races as well as classic dirt races in the US including the Santa Anita Handicap, defeating the great John Henry (but then being disqualified) as well as the Hollywood Gold Cup in a sub 2 minute performance. Unfortunately he bowed a tendon in the 82 Marlboro Gold Cup where he was the high weight.
