You might want to get it looked at-a 6.5L 4 speed should be able to best 80 mph-although it will take a while getting there. Even the very heavily armored military variants with the same powertrain would do 65-70. You should definitely be able to do better than 55 mph.
Awesome! We run the crap out of our M998 Humvee in Alaska. From water, to hills, to just obstacles we find them all in the off-road Alaskan woods. One thing you need for sure is a winch to really get down to business. The body may be aluminum and hood fiberglass - but overall these are some heavy rigs and when they get stuck it is usually UGLY! I have to be honest though - that truck is soooo nice I'd be shy to take it where we take the Military version. I'm proud of my Alaska Pinstripes - but on that truck it would be a shame to scratch it up.
Craig, Love ya man, but, THAT wasn't as dirty as they can be gotten 🤔😁.... until you have to rely on a Bradley or a M113 to get you out of the mudhole you just sank it in, then you've not really taken the H1 to the proverbial woodshed. All in all, it IS one tough vehicle actually, although I'm failing to understand why you can't get past 55 mph, I'm certain you've got a good tech that can figure it out quickly. Enjoyed the video Brother, keep em coming!! 🇺🇸👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
I think there’s a way you can just suspend the hummer midway up a steep ramp or downwards. I kinda Remember that was what they demo at a car show. But again that was a long time ago!! Great vid! Congrats on clearing all the water hazards!!
Craig you would have made those piles of loose stuff if they were hard pack but because they arent you would need to hit them with more speed so your momentum would carry you up and over. But you were trying to go over something so steep from a dead stop so your wheels have to spin. You would need a cat track or monster truck size wheels to make it over the way you were doing it, but if that was packed with a proper base to it, the hummer would have yawned as it was going over. The great thing about those as well as the wheels being so far forward is the diff clearance and the portal axels. Its a pure 4x4. Loved the video and great to see the kids having fun with you. How mu h are you asking? I used to have an H2 but always wanted the purity of an H1. They are like hens teeth up here in canada. I almost bought one down there about 10yrs ago.
Craig: you should know by now with diesels, it's not the HP it's the amount of torque they have. It's rated at 204 but also had 440 ft lbs of torque. I bet you could hook at 10,000 lbs trailer to it and not even notice it when you pull away at the lights. Same as going up hills: set the cruise and I bet the engine speed won't change.
I drove them all the time in the military in the 90's. I was never a big fan but they could go through a lot compared to a civilian vehicle. Also try driving one through a tiny street in Europe, not fun!
@@DavidsExecutiveTouch17 So funny thing, I arrived in Germany 1 week before the first US troops moved into Bosnia as a buck private fresh from AIT. Somehow I got assigned to a non deployable unit and never spent a single day in the field my entire tour. Unit was in the process of deactivation. My next 3 assignments made up for that though :)
@@leroystokes5140 Ah yes, the country where things like traffic lights and laws are mere suggestions... Mostly drove Deuce and a half when I was there (the newer cab over thing that replaced the old school ones)
Craig pressure wash those muddy tires then use STP Son of a Gun. Let ot soak then scrub them again dry and spray some on and let it dry they will look like new. The mud we have in Tn will stain you tires
Throw an air intake system on that Hummer and get a name brand air intake system go with their k&n air induction kit you should gain a minimum of 10 to 15 horsepower so at least that thing would be cranking 200 hp plus you will gain 10% in gas mileage and it's not that expensive and I bet your mechanics at your shop can install something like that. It's about a two-hour installation time I guarantee you if you install this it will pay for itself within about 3 or 4 months of driving but if you drive it a lot then it's going to pay for itself within a month or two
I guess you don’t know the full potential of your hummvee, if you put the transfer case on low , trust me it would cross over the ramp where he would not go more , you can literally climb anything, go over trunks as big as your clearance!! 😮
THe video was a winner winner chicken dinner. I did email you Craig. I know you like to 1 make money but 2 you are a stand up guy and like to help people.
Craig don't adertise gambling apps for money to your veiwers please. I know they probably pay more but don't go for a few extra bucks. Gambling is an addiction . Would you advertise heroin ? Of course not.
The things you did today is why the H1 was created, NOT for daily driving tasks or a jaunt into Boston. Your kids are going to steal the title so you can't sell it !
This is the only video I've given you a negative Thumbs Down as you're sponsored by gambling site which I don't think its a good thing so many people getting into debt nowadays spending money they can't afford and trying to win it back😢
Why people say you can’t go over 55 in these rigs are simply wrong-especially with the 6.5-I’ve owned multiple rigs-93 m998 6.2 for over five years and it’s my daily driver. It does 55/65 no problem
My Jeep would have gone over those obstacles. Shorter wheel base. I changed the diverintials and towed a dual axle trailer. I loved going to the " Mud Hops ". Idiots flipped them so Jeep changed to the Wrangler style 😢. 🦜

Those kids will never ever forget this day
Now that looked like a ton of fun, big boys with big toys.
there's some great offroading in NH. I think one is called Rose Mountain? If you have BTM, use that during offroading and you'll get through anything
We ordered ours after Desert Storm war, been in parades, car show, even a Chrysler commercial!!! And compared it with Landrover!!!
Craig, those kids are great sports, remember days like this on a bad day. You are a rich man!

I know where those trails are, can’t wait to try them out myself.
After 20 years in the Army and driving HMMWV's, if you put it in 4L you can damn near do anything.

Glad to see you having fun
Such a fun rig! Love the H1 Hummer. We have been having a blast with our 2004 H1.
Looks like fun my friend. 😊
Yup we have the only one in Canada, the tan colour one! A thousand a tire!

Buy the kids an ice cream for excellent filming 😆
WHOA!! Thank you!
What about a wrangler have you done it in a rubicon

You should put it out front and center looking the way it did after 4 wheeling, let everyone see what it can do…lol… great video

Was you thinking about Hohenfels & Grafenwoehr like I was, as Craig was rolling those trails??!! 🤔😁😂
Try Korea too😂

"Wow" Christopher Walken in Joe Dirt😂😂
Lend it to whistling diesel, let him test it out....
I don't think it would come back in one piece.
Surely a stupid idea but not surprised coming from that morons simp army
I just watched his model t durability test video right before clicking on this one lol
This was my dream car growing up, awesome to see you put it to good use
the wasn't a challenge! that FWD V8 Lincoln abomination you brought months ago could do it hahaha
Think we all needed to know what these can do🙀🙀🙀
Awesome video. Would not get rid of that hummer.

I had a CJ 7 Jeep with large tires, body lift, etc. She would go almost everywhere. Lots of fun. 🦜
Craig, the H1s I’ve driven in the past have 2 fuel tanks. Not so in your H1? Love the videos and content mate! Cheers!😂
I’m sure that has lockers for front and rear
Forget the Water Park. When you got a Hummer!
Hey Craig, great video. One question, what would you have done if you got stuck??..😅
Um any see that gold suv on that trailer in the background great video though .
If I were you, I’d keep that beast. Subtract it from the Ferrari flip and keep grinding. We won’t be mad at ya
Love the vid man, beast of a car. But I can't lie, a large part of that is daily driving in India!
Should’ve brought the dog with you off roading
Keep it for Armagedón when it comes 🤔
Keep it and do a build series
I guess you don’t know the full potential of your hummvee, if you put the transfer case on low , trust me it would cross over the ramp where he would not go more , you can literally climb anything, go over trunks as big as your clearance!!
😮
Don't learn "high centering" the hardway...sometimes can be hard to recover from.....
Cant believe u related an H1 to a jeep wrangler, the only thing they have in common is 4 wheels
This is true
Whistling diesel will put that truck to its limits
M35a2 or 5 ton should be next.
🔥

Noon turbo diesel is just a waste.
he is lost and dose not get it
I thought we were done with the hummer videos. This is getting boring
craig only thinks about himself and greed
Thx for all the comments
So many clips in this video were included in your previous video? No need to do this just to make a video longer. Keep it original.
craig on coke
GM 6.5 is junk.
Especially no. Turbo

Yea, I've been at 80 before in my M1123, but its very comfortable at 60-65
Put a cummins in it
