      That is a truly awesome build! What did you do with the camper part above the cab? Is that just storage space? Possible to convert that into a another bed?

      I loved every single part of this and could spend the rest of my days in there!! Is this something you’d make available for the public? Do you have any idea of the cost? Minus a bit of storage issues, it’s absolutely perfect!!!!

      Of course it is. Horrificly AI generated
      Also wanted to add, something I never understood seeing people built those things. If something is being tested to fit you take it out and do all the more detailed work for the sink etc. outside. Spares you to do unnecessary double touches with cleaning and you just have to fit all the pieces together in the end.

    typical the thumbnail has nothing to do with the actual build or even the vehicle in a state of its build... how about now you make a video about the vehicle in the thumbnail? thats what i WANTED to see. i saw this build on the owners own channel.

    • @troymanning3150
      @troymanning3150 5 місяців тому +16

      So very true! Although this was a cool build why wouldn’t you show the actual vehicle you built?

    • @thadthurlow
      @thadthurlow 5 місяців тому +21

      The actual video was made by Roaming Ventures. Check out the videos on their channel. But first, report this video for being misleading. This channel is stolen content.

    • @BrianWD75
      @BrianWD75 5 місяців тому +4

      @@thadthurlow Actually it isnt stolen content. the OP thanked them for the promo in the comments. alos the issue i have is that the OP didnt build the vehicle thats in the Thumbnail either. I did some research on the thumbnail. as it turns out no one has built that Overlander Humvee. its a photo-shopped image of others that are similar. Thats some BS. cant just promote the legit build.. have to puff it up even more with false images... Quantum is very bad about that..

    As a former Army medic, I lived in one of these for weeks on end. I never experienced comfort like this thing has. Well done! That's a great conversion on a military ambulance. How much for the ambulance?

    • @crypto_que
      @crypto_que 4 місяці тому +3

      Never again. I spent 3/4 of my career in a 997 or other Humvee. I gasped when I saw the interior. I even had a soldier injure himself inside the ambulance who wasn’t a casualty. He was supposed to be helping me, and I had to evacuate him. I never want to see another one of these things again ever !😂

    설명서와 부품,공구만 있다면 얼마든지 복구가능할듯 싶습니다.

    • @rwhunt99
      @rwhunt99 5 місяців тому

      The single decker was a mistake by the government (who would have thought). In the design of it, they left off the part in the design, where the roof was supposed to pop up with soft sides as a convertible unit. So we built it and they realized the mistake and so there was only the initial batch that were built. I can't remember the actual number, but it was maybe 500 units or less.

    one suggestion I have is to get one of those magnetic bug screens, to add to the rear, so that you can have it open but not let the bugs in. It works great. With the velcro it is really low profile and it won't hinder the closure of the doors. I looks amazing, well done !

      I just watched it. I saw no insulation added. Did they somehow fit AC? If not, HMMWVs were all hot as hell to drive, unless it was cold out, then you froze your ass off.
      Stock FLAs were prone to roll overs aswell. This thing looks to be even more top hvy.
      Looks cool, but the things are maintenance nightmares. Be ready to replace the rear hub seals if you use 4wd.

    1969- we had Dodge Power Wagons for most heavy vehicles. What was the total cost for the vehicle and renovation? Edit: After many years of tent camping, the only advantage of a motor home would be the convenience. As long as you are on one place, OK, but if you want to go somewhere, you either have to break down the camp or pull a vehicle. Now, in my later years, roughing it is staying in a motel with a B&W TV.

    I remember building the original Humvee Ambulances, and I used to test drive them around our one mile test track. there was an issue with the Good Year rubber composition; as when we came off the track the rubber was shredding off the tread, Goodyear changed the composition of the rubber and it improved the life of the tires. IMO; turning it into a camper might sound great, but the overall cost to maintain is significant. I do believe the Humvvee is one of the most remarkable off road vehicle ever made. It far exceeded expectations and that in itself was the reason for it's demise (they are still building them) the military saw huge possibilities and pushed it far beyond it original goals as a behind the lines utility vehicle.
