These tests are not scientific at all. This video was made strictly for fun. Both of these are great and very fun to shoot. For the 25 yard accuracy test with the MP5, I pulled high left a few times. That was 100% on me and not the gun's fault. Thank you for watching.
ahh you pulled high left with the mp5, hummm i already thought THATS ALMOST NOT POSSIBLE SO FAR LEFT AT 25 YARD. because i own a mp5 and its accuracy is very very good. but i understand that its just for fun. GREAT VIDEO BTW. AND I MUST SAY THE SOUND OF THE PS90 IS REALY AWESOME. GREETS CHARLY FROM THE NETHERLANDS.
A Stargate special episode? The accuracy on the PS90 is very nice, I think both are excellent weapons and it is a shame the P90 didn't really take off as it is a very forward thinking design. The MP5 is certainly a tried and true gun that has been nigh impossible to supplant in its class. Difficult choice but 50 rounds of armour piercing ammo with a shorter overall length (with the short barrel) is something you can't get anywhere else.
I do want to make one note. The MP5 fell out of favor due to difficulties penetrating body armor. The P90 has the ability to go through an engine block in one mag. I love both SMG's but I figured I'd let it be known.
Wait what? There's no way the 5.7 is doing anything to an engine block, where did you see that demonstrated? 5.56 round and 7.62 rounds can't even go through an engine block. Is this one of those A.I. bot accounts?
@Shademastermcc it's something I've heard about. I think it has a lot to do with velocity of round which plays a huge part in damage, and size with structural integrity (small, well structured, high velocity rounds work best in penetration i believe). I will say I haven't seen it tho, so it could be just word of mouth to word of mouth
Both are nice, it’s a shame that 5.7 is price-gouged so much; certain ballistic performance along with price is why the 9mm edges out the 5.7 in my eyes, that’s just me.
Oh I loove the MP5-SD, you gotta say tho that its the supressed version and thus a little heavier. Maybe a comparison between the unsupressed MP5 and P90 would make more sense but tbh idc :D Lovely guns, lovely video. Two of my all time favorites
I'll take the MP5 over the PS90 simply because I've been that good with one since I was active duty Marine Corps. I noticed you have some sort of optic on the PS90 where you do not on the MP5. I also noticed you compared it with the naturally heavier integrally suppressed MP5SD also with heavier straight mags and NOT the lighter MP5 which would have lighter mags as well. I don't get anything out of cola devastation. And also, if that MP5SD is a little heavy for you, more frequent gym visits may be in order. Semper Fi.🇺🇲
Military role: P90. Due to more rounds, lighter recoil, less weight, And superior armor penetrating capabilities). As a Civillian: MP5. Since the 5.7 is purposefully underpowered and severely overpriced (I'm not paying a $1 per round. I'll stick with 9mm, 10mm, and 22 TCM).
Found a p90 original with limited fire time so I’m going with that beauty. Old design but so well done and it’s a classic. Not cheap bullets but that’s not a concern. 50 rounds in a few seconds will be so much fun at the range. And hopefully no one breaks in.
Both really good guns, but the P90 is just better imo : lighter, much more mag capacity, more accurate ... also a caliber that is better for dealing with armored targets
@clveronez Love roller delayed blowback, for a number of reasons. And your assessment is pretty accurate. 9mm is great... within the constraints of it's limitations. What 5.7x28mm does is extend those limitations to a large degree, almost exactly halfway between 9mm and 5.56x45mm. Specifically out of the P90/PS90 platform. So, regardless of ammunition availability, price, and other logistics... for what it was designed to do, within the parameters of cqb, room clearing, inside vehicles, as a pdw, and ppd weapon... the P90 design outshines every 9mm platform in terms of accuracy, recoil, ergonomics, compactness, terminal effectiveness, one handed manipulation, barrier blind performance, fragmenting rounds that do in fact produce hydrostatic shock, and capacity large enough to literally offer suppressive fire if necessary. It's good kit. All depends on the shooter's needs.
@@xxxod, so I wasn't wrong. Thanks for clarifying that. By your own words the main one is 9MM. I never said the MP40 didn't fire other sizes, did I? Thanks for playing.
Late comment: Both gun roles are different, and they perform different results. P90 (PS90 for civilians) is PDW which using HV PDW cartridges and required to Penetrate body armor (but there's some trade-off is wounding issues) while MP5 is a balanced Sub-Machine Gun that good for precise and CQC roles (however, pistol cartridges lack anti-armour capability).
Now, is likely the best time to stock up on complex consumables. Then, not even 9mm may be available... as stores will no longer exist. Finite supplies will become that much more finite. Every caliber will become scarce. Bartering will become a thing again. Get ready...
@@kenstewart7700 Maybe. Hopefully. But less than two years ago we this thing... Recoil impulse. It’s roller delayed blowback operating system is unmatched in terms of softness. The only gun I’ve shot that comes close to it is the mpx. Also the gun has been used so long now it has built up quite the reputation and is battle proven. Mpx is still very new and has some growing pains.
Once you shoot an MP5 (or the civilian semi auto version by HK the SP5) you will never want to shoot another pistol caliber carbine (PCC) again. The recoil impulse is unbelievably light due to the roller delayed blow back system. It makes shooting the 9mm a joy, you barely feel the recoil as if you were shooting a .22. Plus who doesn't like doing the HK slap? It's iconic.
It's a proven system that has seen uniform service for over 60 years by this point and still sees service with military and law enforcement to this day. It's roller delayed blowback system reduces the felt recoil and makes full auto fire exceptionally controllable and semi auto fire accurate as well, with good ammo and adequate training. It's also pretty easy to train on. Similar to the AK, the MP5 has very straightforward controls. One charging handle, one mag release, one safety selector. No frills, no fuss, no fumbly bits. While it does take additional training to run the sub gun fast, the reliability of the large controls that mostly require no fine motor skills means that the gun won't fail you when you're doing your job. And while the base MP5 doesn't have much modularity out the box for attachments, the commercial aftermarket has tons of means to fit optics, illumination devices, handguards, and what have you to keep the system relevant today. If anything, the gun just works. Sure it doesn't do everything some of its competition can, but it doesn't have to. The MP5 is weapon that won't let you down, and that's all it needs to be great.
Because it was built in the 60s and still used to this day. I normally am not one to buy slight variations of one particular platform, but do so with ARs and MP5s. Roller delayed makes it kinda hop up a tad evenly and predictable with each round fired. The recoil impulse is unique for sure.
The MP5 SD is subsonic, the P90 is not, and still the penetration test was the same??? The muzzle speed is, P90 715 m/s or (2,350 ft/s) vs MP5SD 330 m/s or 1082.68 ft/s, so P90 is more than double the muzzle speed.
so... the fact that the MP5 is the MP5SD variant and has an integral suppressor doesn't that make it so that you need a lot more paperwork and background checks to go with it?
Yes correct. Also the barrel is less than 16 inches with a collapsible stock which classifies it as an SBR. That also required a tax stamp along with the stamp for the suppressor. I had to wait 14 months before everything was approved.
@@GunsOfTheWorld tbh the p90 would have much more penetrating power than a 9mm or 45acp mp5 because its a faster and smaller round.
