I bought a PS90 SBR. It took the ATF 14 months to process my application and I already have a concealed carry permit AND work for a State Law Enforcement Agency. Waited 14 months... worth it! Some advice - DO NOT pay the $200 tax stamp for the Short Barrel. INSTEAD buy the regular PS90 with the 16" barrel, then pay $200 for a 6 inch suppressor. Once you receive the tax stamp for the suppressor, buy a 10" short barrel and permanently affix the suppressor to it for an overall length of 16". That way you have a legally suppressed PS90 with a legal barrel length. Just my thoughts...

FN PS90... "FuN Personal Security from 1990"
This firearm is quite possibly the best and most broadly effective to own for use on targets inside of 200 meters, and still considerably useful to 300m. It's a plinker. It's a "truck gun". It's a PDW. It's a varmint/nuisance dispatch device. It's low-rattle, doesn't snag on anything, compact, lightweight, low recoil, sling it or pack it, 50 round reload, ammo for daaaaayz, stay on target, "you can keep your sight picture", successive fire king of literally 90% of what 99% of PCC owners do with a PCC.

I love my PS90 (and it's more of a go to than my AR). Super easy to break down and clean. I didn't like the block on top and replaced it with the FN integrated green dot sight. Moves the view down quite a bit and gives a better cheek weld. The ONLY downside is the mag carriers don't work with AR mags or vice versa. An easy way to remember the safety is (since your right handed) to pull/roll it like the trigger to select fire; push/roll away to safe it. 👍

I *LOVE* my PS90, but I still haven't SBR'd it for some reason. It's wonderful. If you buy one, I suggest two things: The Urban ERT sling from Soldier Systems, and a Design Machine custom mount. The Urban ERT sling is incredibly well designed for the PS90 specifically, is comfortable, and works exceptionally well. Design Machine makes custom mounts so you can remove the factory rail, and put in a shorter mount for an optic, reducing the height over bore issue.

Experienced Reloaders out there probably just about fell out of their seat. Yep the actual diameter of a 5.56 bullet IS 5.7mm, just like how a .38spc is actually .357”.
So if you’re already reloading 40gr Vmax or 45gr sp for your 5.56/.223 all you need is a lb of bluedot and the dies.

After seeing it used on Stargate, I considered using one. Turns out Machine Gun America, which has an Orlando location, had one. I was in town for a homeschool convention and wanted to introduce my son to full auto, we stopped in. I was disappointed. I wanted to fire a few single shots to get used to the weapon before burning through a magazine, but the gun did not like that. The loading end of the magazine kept popping up. This didn't happen when I sprayed and prayed. Putting a piece of velcro over the magazine would have stopped the problem. The P90 can swap magazines in under 5 seconds, and a velcro strap would interfere with that. So, on full auto it was great, but for single shot it repeatedly jammed unless I held my hand over the magazine. Still, it felt great on full auto, and was easier to control than I expected. I think I still want one. In my mind I slaughtered entire armies of invading jaffa when I held it. My wallet screamed for mercy when I finished the second magazine.

16” barrel is a travesty. No P90 should ever have it.
And you need to ditch the rail and get a Design Machine aftermarket mounting block for a red dot of your choice. It greatly lowers the HOB.
It’s still not something you can sight in for pinpoint accuracy in both self defense and long range but it’s not meant to be a long range rifle.
It’s purely a personal defense weapon meant to pierce light armor with standard ammo. Velocities are more than enough with a 10” barrel. The 5.7 round was meant to be fired from the P90 and is just as deadly as a 9mm or 223.

Kinda wish there was a way to trick the ATF into thinking it has a brace instead of a stock so it could be considered a pistol.
I also wish it shot ammo that was more readily available.

There is a politician or two that thinks abolishing the ATF is a good idea.
Not to give false hope, but it is a thought circulating “up there” in the government.
If they ever put it to a vote… the ATF is done.

My old friend owns a PS90 and we went to the range. Best gun I've ever shot. Accurate as hell and it feels like and extention of your body. Everything he said about it is true. Wish he had gone over how the rounds get chambered since they sit perpendicular to the gun.

This firearm is ideal for quickly engaging and disengaging targets from going inside a vehicle or outside of the vehicle. And a plus for tight corners/narrow hallways.

So I've owned a ps90 for a long time if you're into ballistics I would not recommend replacing the barrel to 10 inch barrel with a 16 inch barrel the ps90 will achieve muzzle velocities around 3,000 feet of s sew-in short out to 200 yards is ballistics almost matched the 556

This video I'm sure has nothing to do with the fact that the 5.7 round and the P90 were designed to penetrate Russian body armor since the 9mm pistols were not cutting it, which left the truck drivers and the like vulnerable. #CurrentEvents

Russian body armor *at the time*. Serious doubts as to it's effectiveness on modern armor... M855a1 is a better choice.

Current Russian standard-issue body armor is Level-4/ E-SAPI. It bounces even 7.62 NATO standard Armor-Piercing at anything over 100 yards. But, it's not full-body coverage. That's where an accurate, fast-recovering weapon that handles quickly is important--shooter can target, shoot, re-target, shoot very quickly. Disable, kill; disable, kill.
The other option is something that hits crushingly hard, like a shotgun with magnum sabot slugs from a long-ish barrel, or an elephant gun with solids. Even if the target isn't dead, it's incapacitated.

Respectfully disagree. Yes, it's a great firearm but try buying ammo for it. I have (and love) my FN FiveSeven, but securing ammunition for it is difficult at best. I've also been very reluctant to go to the range because the ammunition is very expensive. I wish they'd step up ammo production and make the ammo more affordable.

@@madmaxd1 I can afford the gun and the ammo, but again there was a point where you could not find the ammo ANYWHERE. Seriously, I tried on line sales, gun shops Ammoseek engine etc. How can a gun be fun to shoot if you don't have the ammunition? Now it's available for about 74 cents a round.

I got one a couple weeks ago the optic rail is trash sits anything you attach to it way to high so I ordered one of the HB industries direct aimpoint mounts. Other than that I like it it came with a spare CMMG barrel I'm going to form 1 it soon, trigger is alot better then I expected give that it was copied from the AUG. I finally decided to get one after I got to try one out, saw one a friend of mine form 1'd and I spent a bunch of time binge watching startgate. What's funny is dial the gate on youtube has an interview with Rob Fournier the armorer for the series and the story of how he got the P90 on the show was hilarious

I am just not a gun collector with 30, 40, 50 firearms. I am a military and law enforcement veteran who simply owns firearms for a particular situation that may apply to me, and then I train with and become intimately familiar with those select firearms. That is not a judgment of anyone who is a collector, that's just not me. If I felt or later feel this gun fits into my needs, it will be part of my kit.

Thank goodness it doesn't cost as much as my Colt Ten Pointer Python! I'd buy this gun in a heart beat if/when the ammo comes back on the shelves. Have to say I prefer the Ruger 5.7 over the FN 5.7 however Colion. Can you compare those two 5.7's in a future show if you haven't already? My other question would be how good is the 5.7 round at stopping the threat? Yup, it's truly cool however! You are a hero standing up for all of our 2A RIGHTS and we THANK YOU young man!
