Here is a ride on an XD60 on the 398 from Mission & 2nd Street to SFO Airport Courtyard A. Articulated buses are uncommon on the 398. The 398 route will be eliminated as part of the Reimagine SamTrans plan. This route goes on the freeway a lot, turning off of Mission at 10th St. to take 101 to San Bruno. After some stops there, it goes to SFO before taking 101 to Hillsdale Mall. It goes on El Camino Real from there to the Redwood City Transit Center.

No. The 292 is the best alternate to the 398.
In Aug 2018, KX and 398 were combined to increase service to San Francisco.
